[2023 Newest] Carpuride w901 Pro Wireless Apple Carplay & Android Auto with Backup Cam & SWC, Dual Bluetooth, Mirror Link/GPS/Siri/FM/Google, Support Trucks Dashboard Mounted
The Carpuride w901 Pro Wireless Apple Carplay & Android is easy to install and easy to use in the car, no need to remove the old stereo. It is easy to connect iphones and android phones through Bluetooth or via wires. It has a good sized screen and is very responsive. The sound quality actually goes on the sound quality that is in your car so if you have good quality speakers then the sound is going to be good. The remote control works well, we are waiting for a friend to fit the rear view camera so there won’t be wires everywhere.
Ideal bit of kit for the car without having to remove the stereo, you will need and aux socket in your car.
Works well
Great responsive screen
Easy to use and easy to install

I have a fairly basic Hyundai i10 that only has a small display showing time or radio station and have been using my phone for GPS, but the screen is too small and too dark for a satisfactory GPS display. My single objective in getting this Carpuride w901 Pro was to get a decent GPS system that was easy to see and easy to use and it has more than met my expectations. I have not yet fitted the reversing camera and will leave that until the better weather and longer daylight hours as I do not have a garage.
I’m not a keen DIYer, so I had some trepidation about fitting the Carpuride w901 Pro, but the manual was helpful, as were the screen prompts, and it was up and running with no real problems and in a shorter time than I had expected. I used the suction cup bracket to mount the screen as it let me cover the pretty much useless dashboard display I have and does not infringe my view of the road. It is also easy to remove, which is a big plus.
The screen and display are great. The sensor that automatically brightens and dims the display to suit the lighting conditions works better than I anticipated and I didn’t know how really useful the remote control is until I fitted it. The w901 Pro is a big upgrade to my car and I’m delighted with it.
The quality, fitting options, ease of assembly and ease of connection of this kit exceeded my expectations and the end result is great.
Finally I can keep my eyes on the road while still being able to play my favourite music ,changing location on maps ,making calls ( know they not allowed but sometimes needed ).
The car play has the latest technology making it easy to install or access it.
If not a fan of Siri or Google you can always use the remote which is detachable and can be used anywhere on top of the wheel.
The car play can be connected wirelessly or with the cable to your phone.
There are few cables that might be on the way but if installed professionally they can be hidden away.
Other features on this car play :
Bluetooth Transmitter,it supports Bluetooth hands-free phone calls and connected car Bluetooth to play navigation and music.
Light Sensor it auto-adjust brightness for when travelling in the dark.
External Mic, it supports insertion of 3.5mm external microphone in addition to built-in speakers.
A Rear camera equipped with a 6m waterproof backup camera which can or not be used depending on your needs.
I have parking sensors so I don’t need mine.
Full touch HD with good resolution so easy to touch and access the touch.
The size of the car play is large enough to enjoy even movies.
It comes with all accessories included so it can be used straightaway.
A smart car auto play which will elevate the experience behind the wheel.
Recommend!
It’s a lot cheaper than other more popular apple carplay products, but it still does an amazing job. It’s easy to set up and use each time, and the screen makes maps so easy to see, especially for long journeys.
This has a large 8 1/2 inch colour screen and remote control that fits onto the steering wheel. What is easy to connect to my phone (Samsung A22) so ideal very accurate sound is flawed, not yet connect to the reversing camera as I need to find a route from the back of the car to the unit, but so far very impressed
I tried the older version carplay from Carpuride so I was interested to see how this one compared and it is a big improvement, These carplay’s are a really good improvement for the older cars and I found the 9″ screen is around the best size, It is best if you can have it hard wired into the car but you can just plug it into the 12v socket, The touchscreen on this is the biggest improvement and is responsive, The audio is not the best from it’s speakers so it is best if you plug into a aux and use the cars speaker system, The picture from the camera is good but to be honest I didn’t fit this as it just seemed to be too much wiring in for me but I may do that at a later date, The system does take a min to boot up as I have experienced with all carplay systems, It connects to my phone every time with no problems at all, The steering wheel control is a nice improvement that works very well and looks smart, It has so many function there is too much to list and say really but overall this is a massive improvement on there older version and works very well and is best if you have it fully hard wired in but not needed, at the moment there’s a 60 voucher you can apply making it a very good buy for what you get in the kit.
We got this for our teenage sons car after he’d just passed his test as we wanted an in car navigation system which meant that hopefully he wouldn’t be using his actual hone whilst driving.
He found this unit to be very useful in his little car although we did have to screw it to the dashboard after it came loose on a roundabout.
Al the usual features are included including navigation and music controls which gives the feel of a premium product despite if obviously not being. The ability for hands free control is preferential when driving and it also gives us peace of mind.
This is a great piece of equipment for being able to control phone calls, your music, navigation and many more features within the car. It really does take the car experience to another level and make life a lot easier while driving.
his is the model w901 pro portable car display from the brand carpuride, it equipped with a 9 inches ips display, compatible to both apple carplay and android auto; the best thing of this display is that it’s a completely external car stereo, easy to setup, just mount it to available space on the dashboard and it’s done! there are a suction mount and flat plate mount are included, can either mount on windscreen, or there is a smaller size adhesive plate for mounting where dashboard space is limited
it needs sometime to load up the home screen after power on, similar to most other carplay console; all features are easily accessible, i.e carplay, android auto, airplay and play directly from usb port or memory card; touch screen is responsive, obvious glare and reflection from screen particularly for dark background in screen, wish it got a matte and non glare display, that will be better to view during day light
the screen resolution is 1024 x 600, a trim down resolution of 16:9 display, but video still look vibrant with it
there is built in speaker with the display, well, sound is loud and acceptable, but i would connect to car speaker for better quality sound with the bluetooth, or aux input cable; there is even fm transmit option, not tested it but it’s good for much older car with no bluetooth or aux input
for this model there is also a rear camera and steering wheel controller included, added much convenient and value to the set
it’s pretty an easy upgrade to older car without a smart car stereo, loads of useful feature that let me enjoy music on the go, car navigation with carplay or android auto, even a bigger screen for kids to watch video while parked and waiting in car
all in all, i’m satisfied with this product, would recommend
Setting this unit up was incredibly easy. Once plugged in it connected to my phone via Bluetooth and it was away to go. The included remote and reversing camera work well although to get the camera working best it needs to be hardwired to kick in when I reverse. It’s something that I’ll be arranging as the unit itself is fantastic and is a permanent fixture in the car.
I already had the 7″ version of this screen but being a tech nerd wanted the 9″ version and boy am I glad I got it. Nothing wrong with the 7″ one. Loved it. But the extra 2″ makes all the difference. Makes things easier to press. The screen can be super bright or dimmed to a more reasonable level. Automatically connects to my phone once it’s been paired and will do so every time it starts up. No need to do anything. So convenient! Nice and snappy to use and has a very loud speaker included if you don’t want to wire it into your cars aux port. Not able to test Apple CarPlay but Android Auto works flawlessly. This one even has an included reversing camera so you can have all the modern features you get in brand new cars in whatever car you like! Fantastic for bringing a bit of modern tech into an older vehicle. Lovely bit of kit and you don’t have to worry about vehicle specific adapters or replacing it when you change cars. Take it with you!
This is only really suitable for older models of cars or versions without CarPlay. The ease of use for CarPlay is admirable and the large screen is much easier to see than a mobile phone. You can connect this via bluetooth and hence makes any aux based cars bluetooth. The other thing is the connection via CarPlay or i-play where you can watch videos and use other apps on the device. The touchscreen is very responsive and the quality is great!
I have found it very easy to set up. Stick the mount to the dashboard and clip in the screen. Connect the power supply and the aux cable and you’re ready to go. If you aren’t a fan of bluetooth than keep a cable that connects to your phone so that it can be connected instantly (I actually prefer this).
Having this as an extension to your cars media means that it makes it very tempting to thieves. The mount allows this to be removed very easily (with a click) and so can be kept in the glove compartment.
All in all very handy screen that can make your car smart and may be the reason that you delay buying a new car!
This device works well having a good size screen and generally good performance. Comes with good options for mounting in the car and cabling etc. Has a nice display, but just a bit too reflective unfortunately.
Once setup with my Android mobile, connections were stable and without any real issues using Android Auto. Sound quality is fine for speech, music not so much, so you will want to connect this if possible to your car stereo. My car does not have Aux in or Bluetooth so i had to use the FM option which works but is not the best and there is always some interference on the fm channel, not necessarily the fault of the Carpuride though. But overall this is a good car display option that works generally well, is well made but a little bit expensive perhaps.
This was easy to set up it’s easy to remove when not in use the screen is a great size with great resolution the touch screen responds well. You have plenty of apps to choose from and comes with a remote that works well and a great addition. Comes with a reversing camera which we are not using so can’t really comment on that as our car already has one.
We have an older year and whilst it has an older sat nav, it is not really great and the screen is very small, this one is much larger with a 9-inch screen and is very responsive. I was a bit worried about fitting this in my car but really after watching a few videos, we were able to mount this to the dashboard.
I have an iPhone and it paired very easily with this device so all of my Apps are now on the screen and I can use the mirroring feature as well. This device also comes with the reversing camera, which I have not fitted as yet, but may go to my local mechanic to do so, though, my husband may have a go at doing it shortly, as having a camera at the back is really good to have.
With Bluetooth I can now talk to Siri and also see my message just like on my phone, there are lots of other great features and I strongly recommend you watch some videos but I am learning more about this as I am using my car, but it already has made a big difference in seeing this screen and hearing music.
So really it is only the price which I need to consider, I know that you can buy this for much less than what is being asked at the time of writing this review, so you should find it a bit cheaper. Therefore, in my view, it is an excellent device the touch screen is very good and clear and it is easy to install as well, so I am giving it five stars.
I had an older version installed in my car already but was excited to swop it over for this new model with touchscreen and a much larger screen.
It was relatively easy to install using the mount provided , however I did get the garage to fit it and set up was easy once that was done – it contacted to my phone straight away and was really easy to connect via Bluetooth.
It’s a big screen and the touchscreen is brilliant – really easy to play music, make calls or use the sat nav.
Really like this new version.

I already have a w701Pro in my car, which is great, so was more than happy to swap it out to try this one, I know they say size doesn’t matter, but that extra 2″ on the screen makes a huge difference, it’s like having an iPad on your dashboard! I thought the 7″ was good, but this is a step up yes its the same 1024×600 resolution, but it’s so much easier to use the maps & navigation, plus easier to hit the correct button with one eye on the road although saying that, with the added remote control that I attached to the steering wheel , thankfully I don’t need to do that as often.
As I’ve used one of these before it was pretty straightforward to set up, but I do recommend reading the manual if you’ve not, as there’s a bit to it initially it was all pretty simple and worked well, connected via bluetooth to my iPhone all the apps were there in CarPlay and it was easy enough to find and navigate.
You get a couple of ways to mount this, via the sticky pad, or the suction cup, which I did and it holds well. It would have been nice to have longer cables, both for the 12V power and the line out (although the line out is easy enough to replace with a longer cable the 12V cable less so, as the device has a small DC socket (the yellow one), so the more popular sized DC extenders won’t fit, you’ll need one of the smaller ones (no doubt you can get one on here easily enough). Of course you can connect via bluetooth for the sound, but you still need power of course.
The screen is a good size, certainly a step up from a mobile phone so maps are easier to view, and the touch screen itself was responsive, I didn’t have any navigation issues. So a pretty neat device.
Hope my review was helpful
The video goes into much more detail, including important information about sizing, mounting and operation.
However, in a nutshell:
Things I liked:
+ Very easy to set up – paired with my Samsung S21 FE quickly and Andriod Auto took care of the rest.
+ Extremely easy operation – it is Android Auto, so it’s very easy to use for audio entertainment (both streamed from your phone and stored locally on Micro SD), mapping, calls and a few other features (like news reports etc).
+ Large screen size – this is a blessing and a curse, but the best thing about the large screen (apart from it being easier to see) is that the buttons are all scaled up too, so they are much easier to hit without mistakes.
+ Reversing camera and steering wheel remote are included, responds to voice commands too.
+ Lots of options for mounting – the stand shown in the video can be dash mounted either by the included 3m adhesive pad or be screwing into the dash; alternatively, there is an arm on a suction cup for windscreen or dash mounting.
+ No additional app installation required unless you want to mirror your Android screen.
+ Fairly low power – about 5.5W in use, although be aware that is a constant drain on your car’s battery.
Things I didn’t like:
– If it is dash or windscreen mounted, the large screen size really obstructs quite a big proportion of the windscreen.
– The operation is fine without being amazingly snappy.
– The screen isn’t bad but it’s not outstandingly bright.
– The pricing is a little disingenuous, 280 with a 55 off voucher makes it a 225 unit essentially. You can get it for about 20 less if you’re not bothered about the reversing camera (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C1V9F583).
– Speakers are weak – make sure to connect to your in-car audio system.
– Will take up your 12V socket, there is no other passthrough, although it will charge a phone connected by a wired USB connection to the device itself. You might want to invest in a 12V splitter (Amazon has loads of them: https://www.amazon.co.uk/s?k=12v+splittter).
Do I recommend it?
Yes. It’s extremely configurable and versatile, easy to use and Android Auto is great. Plenty of caveats (detailed above and in the video) with a device like this so go into buying it with your eyes open and if they won’t affect you, this device is an easy way to add Android Auto or Apple Carplay to your car without having to replace any inbuilt units.
This touchscreen Apple CarPlay infotainment system definitely has exceeded my expectations because it works much better than I expected. It’s very easy to set up and install it into the car and I was able to do this quite quickly. It works very smoothly with my iPhone 13 promax, and I’ve not had any technical difficulties at all. I like how responsive the touchscreen is and then it’s easy for me to navigate. The display is very high quality because it’s crisp, clear and the colours are nice and bright. It’s easy for me to keep clean and I like how strong sturdy and durable it is. The size of the screen is wonderful and it’s not too big or bulky, plus it stays steadfast and secure in place whilst I’m driving. The maps and navigation all work brilliantly and it’s easy for me to follow. I really enjoy being able to play my own music and I’ve not had any issues with doing that. I like that the sound quality is very good and it has a nice deep bass which is perfect for my drum and bass music. I can also adjust the brightness which is helpful. I feel the value for money is excellent and I highly recommend it.
Ok, I actually like the idea of this screen upgrade for an older car, where potentially you dont want to, or can’t,upgrade the radio itself.
Now the best bits are.
1. A nice clear touchscreen which you can clearly see maps and apps run ftom your mobile phone.
2. The ability to play media from bluetooth devices and other storage devices.
3. A very nice EQ for sound output.
Now the negatives.
1. Its huge on a dashboard and difficult in some cars to find a location.
2. Its a big theft magnet if left connected on the dash.
3. A pain to integrate with a current car radio. Either wired which is ugly or via unsecured fm transmitter.
4. The fm transmission is not private so anyone can listen in to your phone calls.
5.fm can be patchy in some vehicles, with the potential for interference from local radio as you travel.
In all the idea of the unit is great and it kind of works. But there are some required improvements needed to integrate it better.
A good device to give an extra to our car if it is a bit old and does not have a screen to connect the mobile phone. This kit has a good size screen that allows us to use Android Auto (or Apple) and thus be able to see Maps, music, calls… in a safer (and legal) way than with the mobile phone.
The installation is quite simple, and once we have them all installed the appearance of the car is better, having a complete system. It is important to remember that the device has to be connected to the power supply at all times as it does not have a battery.
The screen works very well and responds quickly. The connection to the mobile phone is also fast and there is no noticeable lag. The applications also run smoothly and stably.
This is great for older cars which have none of the technology people with new cars would take for granted! At 9″ the screen is large, and finding a spot for it was a bit of a problem- avoiding airbag covers etc, but we covered the existing built in CD player. It looked a little messy with the wires etc but it worked immediately, and was very easy to set up and connect with Bluetooth and then Carplay on my android phone. The map function was especially clear on such a large screen, and it was great to be able to take calls hands free. The sound quality wasn’t fantastic, but you do have the option to run in through your own cars speakers. As an add on you can buy a rear camera, and this would make it a pretty fab piece of equipment.
This vehicle tablet/head unit upgrade is a pretty decent way to add more features to a vehicle but you don’t want to or are unable to fit a double din head unit. Once fitted it gives the look of a modern dash mounted tablet entertainment/satnav system without the exorbitant price tag most of them cost, you get easy to access music, Google maps, Waze etc. with a compatible connected phone, I’m using the android platform so can only comment on that side of it but it’s compatible with apple too should that be your preference, either way once connected it works pretty well, the touchscreen is reasonably accurate and with very little delay.
The apps work pretty well allowing a good size for easy navigation and allowing music to be played at the same time, I’ll try to connect a reversing camera at some point and update as necessary as to how good it works but it’s handy having the option. The sound quality is as expected for the price, it’s acceptable but not amazing, connected through an aux cable you get reasonable stereo sound, through FM you get slightly less clear audio and occasional interference as expected.
For vehicles without built in infotainment systems and single din stereo slots this is a reasonable option for adding some extra functionality at a reasonable price, the build quality is reasonable and reflective of the cost, it’s not going to compete with high end units and you get what you pay for, it’s a decent enough little unit with enough features to warrant the upgrade and as it’s easily removed can be transferred between vehicles should you change them.
This Carpuride device does a good job of mirroring my Android phone, allowing me to use Google Maps on this much larger screen. The photo of the Carpuride device shows it next to a 5-inch phone. Clearly, having Google Maps on a 9-inch tablet makes a real difference.
I don’t want to call this device a tablet. To me, a ‘tablet’ implies that it has its own battery and can be recharged. This Carpuride does NOT have a battery and must always be plugged in for power.
Setting up the device was relatively straightforward. Often, I am able to set up a lot of devices without reference to the instructions. But this time, I used the instructions in order not to miss any important steps. I was thankful that the instruction booklet is pretty good. The instructions didn’t miss any steps and I didn’t have to guess anything.
The Carpuride device comes with two brackets for the car. One involves leaving a bracket permanently stuck on my car dashboard, which I didn’t want to do as I wasn’t keen to signal to potential thieves that there might be some device left in the parked car. The other bracket has a sticky bottom that can be repositioned – but I have had sticky bottomed devices like this before and they can be a bit temperamental with the result that it doesn’t always stick properly and ends up falling off the dashboard.
Unfortunately, the bracket fits really loosely into the back of the Carpuride device. The device stays in place but it only takes a fairly gentle knock to upset it (with the potential for the large screened device to topple off the bracket). So be careful when using the touchscreen.
The touchscreen works well although I am mainly using it to mirror the Google Maps from my phone. So I’m not really using any other features. Our car already has Bluetooth for connecting my phone’s music to the car speakers (which are pretty good quality). The built-in speakers on the Carpuride are fairly quiet with not much bass – so not really suitable for music.
Overall, the Carpuride is working well as a way for me to have a larger Google Maps display in the car. But I do wonder if this is a relatively expensive way to mirror a map app on a screen in the car.
My car (FRV) is a bit dated and doesn’t have the benefits of time in relation to its technical offerings.
Here enters this device. With a huge screen (7″), I actually found it a bit intimidating, taking up a lot of space on my dash.
It’s very easy to set up and use, the integrated speaker isn’t the best but is ok for stationary traffic. I didn’t try it in moving traffic but I expect I won’t hear much.
It’s good quality and is basically a bigger phone in your dash. I didn’t try the aux line in to connect it to my stereo either.
Overall 4/5 if this is your thing. Otherwise it’s not really offering anything a phone doesn’t already do.
Some of these come with a rear camera, this one doesn’t so factor that into your decision.
This is in many ways better than anticipated, but in others not quite so. However, generally, a positive experience with this. The product is decently made, and feels quite substantial, not flimsy at all. The instructions are excellent, with reasonably clear photos and step by step instructions. The actual elements covered are the basic ones (connectivity, CarPlay, Android Auto etc.), so you do need to spend a little time working out how to use once the basics are set.
This device was very easy and straightforward to set up, and it didn’t take very long before I had the whole thing connected, and connected to my phone (wireless Android Auto), and working well. For audio, to be fair, it isn’t really worth bothering connecting through the car aux connection, although it’s really simple and easy to do if you wish, using the aux cable supplied. The reason for not bothering is that to be fair, I would only ever use this for Google maps / navigation, which is better than my car in-built satnav. The sound from the device direct isn’t bad, decent volume and reasonable quality.
Like me, most people, I suspect, will only really be interested in the Nav system. Being Google, you know it’s always up to date, with accurate traffic state etc. That works brilliantly, as does the hands free phone etc.
You can if you wish also connect via a USB (music / video files etc) as well as for similar, an SD card. If I’m honest, nothing else is of any real use or interest. A few silly games, weather and one or two other useless apps mean this has limited practicality, although as noted, nav is good. Even whatsapp, which oddly it has, only shows new messages. You could connect via mirror link for more and fuller content, but that isn’t anywhere near as convenient.
Touch screen functionality and scrolling is okay, but nowhere near as good as modern in-built systems on premium cars, but more than acceptable, and as you’d probably expect anyway. Mount options are good, with a choice between a suction pad holder and adhesive pad one. The suction one is surprisingly good, and even adheres to textured surfaces. However, prom a practicality point of view, this is NOT suitable for dash mounting, due to its size, and the visibility line of sight reduction created. In fact, you’d likely be prosecuted for using if caught. That may be possibly slightly different for some cars with a low dash perhaps, but mine isn’t particularly different to others (it’s a Nissan Qashqai), and I would no way use in that manner. It does though adhere to the fascia, I actually placed on the glove compartment door and angled inward which works fine, if you can stand the clumsy look and awkwardness for front seat passengers.
All in all, this is pretty good, works well, and is easy to use. It comes with various mounting options, and is easy to set up. It is though, perhaps not as useful and feature-packed as you might think. Android Auto is very limited in content, but the nav is excellent. Airplay may be better? Good quality, not bad value.
I hope that you’ve found this helpful.
