Arrived when it said it would before Christmas amazing service – a great gift for a man who had to go up and down two floors so often – so that’s no more. It’s a great size looks well in the room We can also take it with us on trips and it fits plenty. – delighted with the purchase.
Not used yet. A present for my grandsons Christmas
It was a great price/ on sale. A good size. Will get a lot of sweets, fruit and drinks etc stored in it. We chose black. Looked classy.
Haven’t stared temp control as don’t think it has one and haven’t used for travelling.
Bought for my daughter to have in her room at Uni.
So far so good – cools snack foods inc veg/fruit and liquids.
Good size as a lot we looked at were tiny.
This is my 3rd Astro AI fridge.
I own 2 (1 is a replacement)
This one I got recently is much louder that my replacement or the original before that and the manufacturing quality is very different (bad).
The handle is shaky and not sturdy compared to my others and around the door and handle these rough plastic edges that look dirty.
I think that they are mass producing these fridges now so the quality control has dropped significantly.
The fan is annoying loud even on ECO mode and a side by side comparison with my existing Astro AI fridge confirms the newer much is way louder.
Good value for money, but beware that you may get something that isn’t built great.
Didn’t buy this for travelling but the power adapter and switch on the back allow for it.
Happy with how this keeps things cold (not tried the heat feature), how easy it is to open/close.
Nice and quiet as it is used in a studio type flat this was important.
So happy!
When I first ordered it, I unfortunately received a faulty one (rattling at the back from the fan possibly touching something), about to send it back, cause… when the new one came, it sounded perfect! I am so relieved and so happy and excited to finally have a minifridge, it’s so cute!
The noise is a bit of a thing I guess on normal mode, but on Eco it’s absolutely fine, considering autumn is coming, I am not too bothered by the cooling levels.
It’s the perfect size for my rather large (Sneak) bottle, and the couple of snacks and sandwich I need in there. Can’t wait to use it! Definitely recommend this size.
Update: still loving it, possibly the best purchase of the year! If you have concerns or second thoughts… just buy it. I love this thing so much I keep telling my friends about how awesome it is 😀
This is a really useful compact fridge with cute little shelved and even a door pocket for a chocolate bar for example. The comes with a plug for a regular socket or a car adaptor one too which is perfect for long journeys. It has different settings depending on the coolness level you’re needing. I find it works better if you add cold drinks in and it keeps them cold, otherwise it takes a long time to cool existing room temperature cans.
Capacity wise it’s 10L, it’s not tall enough to hold a wine bottle but it’s fine for soda cans or beer cans so t’s nice to have in the car plugged in for hot, long road trips.
Overall very happy with this, I’d prefer it to be slightly taller to accommodate wine bottles, but not an issue, it just means I won’t use this as a secret mini vino fridge by my bed so probably for the best!! Very useful and great for keeping drinks cold.
Approx Size: W245mm X D330mm X H360mm
This came with two cables, one for mains power, the other for cigarette lighter socket. It is not light, but it also is not heavy when empty and is easy to move around using the carry handle.
The controls are situated on a panel at the rear. You have Heat/Offer/Cool & Eco Mode On/Off. Also on the panel are the sockets for 12V DC and AC 200-240V. In terms of heating/cooling, it does take a good couple of hours for it to reach the Max/Min levels, using the AC port.
Once at the level, it can be put in your car and plugged into the car DC socket. This will hold the temperature. You need to be mindful of connecting it to a permanent live and drawing from the car’s battery.
It benefits from two, removable shelves and two small door mounted ones. The motor is relatively quiet actually, either when heating or cooling. The black front Glass door looks stylish and extremely easy to keep clean — although it does show up fingerprints. On the left side is a catch to release the door and it requires a hardish push to close the door properly.
Overall quality is particularly good. However, I am not able to comment on life and reliability, although it does come with a 3-year warranty. Two of which are with the manufacturer.
As I am not aware of the price, I cannot comment on value for money.
I hope you found this review & photos interesting, informative, and useful. Thanks for reading.
To be quite honest when I got this I suspected that it would be a much use as boobs on a billiard ball. I was somewhat surprised to find that it actually works.
The fridge can be used on the mains – which I did in my workshop to test it – or via the usual car power outlet formerly known as the cigarette lighter socket.
It’s not just a fridge though as it can warm things up to 65C or more pertinently keep them warm on route to your outdoor al fresco dining experience by the local symphony. I tried it out and it got warm enough for me to figure it would work. I was more interested in the fridge bit.
And, I can report back that it does indeed cool things down very well indeed. There are two settings. Full and eco which, basically puts the fan on full load or trickle. The final inside temperature will to an extent depend upon the outside or inside of the car boot temperature but I did this in when the temperature outside was one of those beautiful British days when the sun is hot but everything is still green. It was about 26 when I put this on for reference.
Anyway, using a decent analogue temperature gauge I found that on full blow the temp was easily down to around 2 to 3C and on eco around 3 to 4. That’s pretty good and just below the normal recommended fridge temp of 5C.
I would say that given it’s size and power it would be best to put whatever you are going to cool into it already chilled from your proper fridge to ensure it’s efficient. It will cool down stuff but of course will take perhaps a bit longer than your domestic unit.
In use it’s not noisy with the fan making about as much noise as a medium desk fan on full load and a fraction of that when on ECO mode.
Overall build quality is… adequate. Not tat but not high end either. Fit for purpose and the price range is fair.
After giving this a test, what I can say is that it does what it says it will do. It cools down stuff and keeps it there from a car power socket or standard UK plug and would be ideal for picnics and days out.
Was thinking about getting a mini fridge then this came up….great…..
Arrived well packed….no damage….
This one is a white unit with a black door…two little shelves inside and on the door two little shelves….so cute…
I got this as I’m having my kitchen done and needed a bit of spare space for small bits to go in so this is ideal….
Plugged in and noticed how cold it was within a hour….great…..there is no noise coming from this little fridge…I did notice on other reviews that they said it was noisy….not mine….
This has a nice carry handle on top so is very portable…also supplied is a charging cable for the car….
You can also have this switched over from cold to warm…personally I don’t know why you would want warm…but hey ho……each to their own…..
Very light…..small and compact…..
Great for travelling ….
One thing I did notice was when I moved it there was a small puddle of water. …but nothing since……
I’ve been using this mini fridge for just over a month now and here are my impressions:
Size: The mini fridge is a good size, it’s small enough that it fits underneath my kitchen cupboards but big enough that it fits quite a lot of things internally. I’ve been primarily using it to keep cans cold to save fridge space. Just for reference, it fits 11 cans in at maximum capacity. It also has two little door shelves to store smaller items which has been handy a couple of times.
Temperature: I’ve only ever used this in the cold settings which has 2 options: non-eco and eco. Initially, I was only using the non-eco mode which is quite loud because it has a fan running but results in a colder internal temperature. It took about 6 hours to chill a full fridge of cans from room temperature to my desired temperature and about 24 hours to become extremely chilled. I personally switched it to eco after the first few days to reduce the noise it also keeps it cool enough for my personal taste in this mode. It’s worth noting that it takes about 24 hours for eco to get to temperature from room temperature.
Noise: I would not recommend this for bedroom use because both modes emit quite a lot of noise. The non-eco mode is equivalent to a desk fan on low and the eco mode emits a hum. In my kitchen, this is absolutely no problem as it is drowned out by my other appliances.
Overall, I think it’s a pretty good mini-fridge. I wish it was a bit quieter but it does exactly what I wanted which is cool a lot of cans in a small footprint. It a comparable price to the competition but it also has a couple of unique features like keeping food warm and is able to be powered via car charger.
I was looking forward to receiving this portable fridge, as we wanted something like this upstairs, as going downstairs for a drink late at night can be a bit difficult, as we have the alarm on downstairs, so this is fridge seemed ideal for us.
When I first saw it I was pleased by the way it looked, it is white and has a really nice looking black door, also, there is a very well designed latch on the door, so unlike a normal fridge, where you pull the door, here you press a latch and the door opens, this is important specially if you want to put this in a car or in a caravan, as the door won’t open if there are any jolts, so the contents remain safe inside.
The capacity is really good, as you can take out the plastic shelve dividers, so large bottles can be placed inside along with a few other items, there is also space in the door as well for storage as well, so a really a well thought out and designed fridge, do note though that this fridge does not have a freezer compartment.
I did try this fridge out by putting it in my car, it comes with two sources of power, mains and a 12volt plug for the cigar lighter point, I have an extra one in the boot of my car, so I plugged it in and tried it out and it worked really well, but unless you have a special battery in your car, it obviously only works when the engine is running or if the ignition is on, I think the car battery will drain if you left the ignition on without running the engine, so beware.
Another very good feature is that the fridge also has a carrying handle on top, as the fridge is so light, if it is full, you can carry it around and with the latch on the door, it won’t suddenly open, so another plus point.
I have not tried out the warm function on this fridge, but to use warm or cold function there is a button on the back of the fridge, I have no doubt that this works as well as the cooling feature.
Another reason I liked this is fridge is that it is to a degree environmentally friendly, so another plus as there are no harmful chemicals.
I was happy with the price point, but there are other similar fridges on the market slightly cheaper, but aesthetically, this is a very attractive and portable fridge and deserves five stars for its appearance and functionality.
