Handles video editing extremely well and is great at uploading and downloading large files. It has a good range of input ports. Colours on screen are great. It’s taken a while to get used to the position of the on button because it is so different to all my previous laptops which I am still using. Nice styling too. I’ve been overdue for an upgraded device, but it’s been worth the wait.

The laptop is good. The buying experience was poor.

Pros – Fast, responsive, processor and GPU is excellent, Built from good materials. Battery life when just using for work seems very good. I’d say 6 hours with moderate use (gaming or 3d work will impact this)

Cons – Turned up with a scratch on the screen some how. Cost reduced while in transit and Amazon refused to refund me. I raised a complaint but was ignored. Gets hot at some points, you may wish to care for your laptop with a cooling or fan type pad/stand for it to sit on.

From what I’ve experienced so far this laptop is has a nice build, has a nice keyboard and nice quality display I don’t think its oled but its 2.8k and gets decently bright. Its fast so it can handle CAD/ Coding for Engineering students and can play AAA games at 120 fps+ on low settings such as Fortnite. Fan noise when under stress is a bit loud but not in an obnoxious way like an old gen console. And it doesn’t get uncomfortably hot on the keyboard or under the laptop but it blows very warm air on the left side vents. Some downsides I’ve already noticed is that the sound quality is 5/10 at best, it can get somewhat loud but the actually quality for a laptop is just meh. This doesn’t matter if you use speakers/ earphones often like me. The battery is also mid. It’s more of a 3-4 hour use laptop rather than an 8+ hour one. Also the trackpad is a little rattly, it almost feels worn out before you hear the audible click. So I’m worried about the longevity of it down the line in 5 years.

I haven’t experienced any backlighting, extremely poor battery or any major faults that would make this laptop a deal breaker.
I will try and give an update review after using it for a month or 2. Until then, I highly recommend this laptop for most students and casual-competitive gamers

Bought for editing photos and video, handles raw 4K footage at ease, screen is beautiful, build quality is fantastic.

Only downside is battery life, DO NOT take this around and about without the charger, it’s lucky to last an hour and a half

This is the third ASUS Vivobook I have bought and I am very pleased with all of them – they have all been trouble free so far.

I have an S532FA, which is compact but has a fairly slow processor and limited battery life and a N7600PC, which was expensive but fab in every respect.

The one under review here gets very warm before the fan kicks in and when the fan does get going it is pretty noisy. Hardly what I would call whisper quiet. Having said that, since Windows stopped updating, it has been much better in that respect.

I like the ergonomics except that the outlet of fan is mainly on one side rather than all along the back like the N7600PC and the S532FA.

The display is OK but I wish that I had splurged on one with a Lumina display like the N7600PC.

It is noticeably heavier than the N7600PC and while it has fewer USB sockets, I was pleased to see that the SD card slot is now full size rather than micro.

One area where this beats even the N7600 hands down is is terms of speed, the newer memory, processor and SSD make it noticeably faster. It is certainly fast enough for most things although I don’t play games so can’t comment on that aspect.

Golden Review Award: 10 From Our UsersFirst thing to say is as per as per my heading Amazon have this incorrectly listed as a 4K 3840 x 2160 OLED screen resolution when in actual fact this 2023 model is a slightly lower 3.2K 3200 x 2000 pixels OLED screen. So technically Amazon are mis advertising this. So that might be an important factor when considering buying and the reason I’ve deducted one star on my rating.

However with all things considered the current price offered by Amazon on this makes it the best value all round for the high spec of this laptop.

Coming from a Dell XPS 17″ which lasted me 13 years. I wanted something with a good current spec which will hopefully last for a number of years into the future. This has it in spades.

This 16″ machine is compact, lightweight and packs a punch with its 13th generation Intel i9 CPU, Nvidia 4070 Graphics and massive 32gb RAM. 1TB of fast M2 storage plus that gorgeous glossy and colourful 120hz OLED screen complete the mix. So it is a machine well capable of dealing with productive and creative tasks as well as doubling as a fair gaming machine. It’s cooling fans are pleasantly whisper quiet for daily use and only really start to make themeslves known if you push the machine to high performance levels in gaming mode.

A note about its OLED screen which is becoming more popular now on mid range Laptops. I hadn’t previously appreciated that there are some “housekeeping” steps you generally need to be aware of to reduce the likelihood of screen burn in and prolong life with these. An accompanying guide leaflet which comes in the box details these which are things like switch windows 11 and app colours into a “dark mode”, keeping brightness below maximum for periods and ensuring either a screensaver or the screen switches off quite quickly after periods of dormant use. Not really major things I guess? but something you dont generally need to worry about if you choose a laptop with today’s generations of IPS LCD screens.

Battery life is around 4 hours in general use, which isnt fantastic but not really a bother for me as I use it more with the PSU plugged in.
There are plenty of external up to date ports on this Laptop for good connectivity.

To sum up then, if you are looking for a good spec Laptop in 2023 with a mid range spec at this price point then, this ASUS Vivobook Pro should be on your list for consideration.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersAsus Vivobook K6604JI. i like it. The weight is light. And thin. 16″ screen size is smaller than my old 15.6″ laptop. Processor: 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13980HX 2.20 GHz. Windows 11 home.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersI7-12650, UHD. This laptop is a bit of a beast. It’s fast, CPU benchmarks put it in the top 25% of all PCs tested, desktop and laptop, and the onboard GeoForce 3050Ti graphics give it pretty good graphics performance for a laptop.
The UHD 4k OLED screen really is excellent, inky blacks, super high contrast, vivid colours and fast refresh… and a nice big screen for those large spreadsheets.

Keyboard is quite OK, backlight is bit variable but it does the job. SSD is pretty quick, not up some of the latest SSDs perhaps but it isn’t going to keep you hanging around waiting at sequential reads of about 3,000 MB/s and writes of 1676 Mb/s.

Minor gripes are that the separate PSU is quite chunky and heavy (it’s 150 Watts and ~ 460g) but the PC can be charged via the USB C port instead at pretty decent speeds with a much lighter 100Watt multi-port USB-C charger. Unfortunately there is only one USB-C port, which is the second minor gripe, two.. one with Power Delivery and one for accessories (i.e a fast external SSD or Video) would be ideal.

Those were minor gripes though and overall I’m really really impressed, an excellent high-end laptop.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI used to always buy Dell XPS 15s but with the price now being nearly 2.5k I decided to look for someting a little cheaper, especially as it’s not my main work device now. Came across this vivobook and throught it looked good so bought it.

AMAZING! Will never go back to an XPS, everything that matters about this laptop is better. The screen is insane! Really nice keyboard with number pad, no deck flex. Speakers are good enough. Track pad is big and feels nicely smooth with no stickiness. Performance is awesome. It looks great. I will be sticking with Asus Vivobook from now o
