I bought this as a Christmas gift. Some of the other feeders I looked at were made of plastic and I preferred this one as it seemed a bit more robust. Also has a small solar panel to charge the camera battery. The birds were using it within a day or two. It’s lovely to see the birds close up and the picture quality is good. I don’t think it’s worth paying extra for the AI technology as it seems to struggle identifying some birds. For example it identified a starling as a chicken! On the whole my husband is very pleased with it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice bird feeder but AI not accurate

This is an excellent simple to use device that lets you not only feed birds, charge up the camera via solar power so it has no maintenance, but it also uses AI to identify the birds and sends you notifications so you can do some learning too – great stuff! Would recommend!

It’s only when I saw this that I actually started thinking, wow, this could be an amazing product. I havent really thought about it before, but a bird feeder with a camera attached to it. You can see what’s going on. What a great way of getting in touch with nature.
So this product comes already assembled in quite a large box, so no assembly or anything its just ready to go. The only thing that you actually need to do is connect this to your phone and then to the Internet. The app it comes with is very clever and will help identify the bird that it is looking at. I found this to be a little bit hit or miss if I’m being honest. Got some mixed up. This product is built rather well. The only thing that I dislike about it is that the fact is a subscription service. So after the first month you just need to start paying money to get the thing to keep working with all its features. You get the basics, however all the advanced features such as cloud based storage of footage or the identification of birds all stops working, but if you spent this much, a little bit extra month isn’t too bad.

I am so happy with this bird feeder with a camera on it. It came boxed with instructions and initially was easy to put together. I did have difficulty connecting it all up even with the Instructions so I had to wait for a friend to help me. It comes with a solar panel which i thigght was great so battery wont run out too quickly. Then camera itself on the bird feeder is very stiff so you can give it a tug. Then there is a cover at the top that you need to open to find the buttons which are on and reset buttons. They are quite small. Scan the qr code and create an account and follow the steps. You have to connect to your router first over the 2.4g network and then connect it to your phone. Then it’s all set up. The camera quality is absolutely brilliant on this and the night mode is fab quality too. You can speak to the camera from your phone and listen back. And it also has warning calls for squirrels. I p9ve that it gives you notifications too see the birds too and it identifies over 10000 species. Overall this is quite expensive but you get what you pay for. I for one live it and after putting it together am very happy so I highly recommend thanks.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThe set up is without problems, and a good picture is achieved across my wi-fi. The box is of a robust construction and well painted, I have greased the bolts and threads including the antenna to help stop any corrosion. The solar panel is adequate for the use of the camera and wi-fi viewing and is supplied with good fixings. The hanging bracket is sound and well thought out, it allows for swivel to left and right from the centre and will lift off for cleaning- which is easy – and filling. Filling with seed is not complicated though depending on the height it is mounted may be awkward without a ladder it holds around 2 litres of seed so a secure mount is a must.
I think the camera field of view could be narrower without detriment, but it is clear and tilting downward, I found, gives a better view. The claim of 10000 birds recognition is a little over optimistic, seeing that many varieties in one area is impossible, there are for instance only 632 listed for the British bird list and the night vision camera with infra red light seems an unnecessary addition, no owls are likely to perch and eat seed!
I am sceptical with the way the solar panel is connected, the cable is very open to squirrel chewing and the alarm doesn’t function if a squirrel should start robbing the seeds, there is no attempt to make the feeder squirrel proof and the alarm is only any good if a squirrel is spotted, although it is good that the noise can be changed if they pesky squirrels get used to one..
The WIFI connection is very reasonable although a bit laggy,
I am not sure that the payment for cloud storage and access to it and to bird recognition software is worth paying for, I am happy with the SD card and viewing without.
Overall, I like the build and the concept of the built in camera and food hopper, although I think the white cable will be chewed very quickly and should have had more thought, perhaps being channeled? It is also expensive but only time will tell as to it’s longevity. I will edit if it is shorter than I would reasonably expect. I am going with four stars, time again will tell if that survives an edit.

This is a very substantial bird box for bird watchers especially, a solid metal construction with a nice camera that gives a good image with a large selection of settings, it comes with a good size solar panel you need to tilt the camera to get to the waterproof cover over the connections power button, reset button, power c connection, SD card slot, you need to remove the roof to fill with seed and it takes a good amount.

You need to download an app, most of the app setup went well but it did take a long time at one point where you need to point the camera on the bird box at a QR code generated by the app on your device, it was awkward getting it to see it getting the correct distance and angle but after a while it worked, for the price I was a little disappointed that an SD was not included it just spoilt a wonderful bird box, overall I am very pleased with whole thing its almost a comprehensive bird watching kit (but for no SD card) and I am very pleased with it and I think worth the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars All metal, heavy and strong, very posh, no SD included.

This is easy to assemble and easy to fit.
You have to register for an app, which will immediately make your mind up if you want to buy this particular camera or not.

It takes a micro SD card which isn’t included, and for the price of this it should be quite frankly.
The camera is of O.K. quality, similar to a security cam of around the 60 price bracket.
Without fitting an SD card you need to pay for cloud storage (pictured) to record anything (you can take photos etc when connected to phone) and you need to pay for cloud to utilise the bird recognition feature so I’ve no idea if that actually works or not.

Bird feeder is made of good quality solid materials and comes with everything you’ll need to install, including straps etc which would allow for different types of mounting to trees, feeder poles, hanging etc.

Picture quality is ok, not particularly colourful or sharp.

It’s good quality, well made but for me it’s fiddly to fit, instruction leaflet is poor the app is restrictive in it’s need to go through a whole slew of permissions and agreement to policies etc.
I’m fairly tech savvy and it took me a while to set up,I feel if an elderly person bought this who didn’t really use tech much, they’d struggle. They’d certainly struggle to fit the usb cables through the weather proofing rubber boots.
The solar panel should prevent you needing to recharge the battery, and to be honest I’ve absolutely no idea if you even could once you’d assembled it and fitted it to a wall etc.
If the battery ran out you’d probably just think “I need to recharge that battery” then forget about it and just have an overly ornate bird feeder.

Is this any better than just putting a trail cam or cheap security cam up on your existing bird feeder? Without paying for extra cloud based features, I’d say it’s not.
I’ll give it 4 stars due to it being well made and “complete” but for price and picture quality for that price then it’s probably more a 3 star rating.

4.0 out of 5 stars Novel idea of a camera in a bird feeder but price is high.
