Good starter box containing all you need to start a terrarium. I purchased this as a clearance item so it was good value for money at the lower price. To buy all the items separately would be expensive as you cannot get the small quantities you want and would have lots of stuff left over. Therefore a kit is the way to go unless you are doing several terrariums. It says it is in a scented gift box but it is in a cardboard box and it not smell particularly nice or nasty. The box does its job!

Used this kit to make some small terrariums in old jars, and had plenty left. Very impressed with the amount of stuff that came with the kit. Only complaint would be that the moss isn’t fresher green moss that I could use to imitate plants, more the sort that you’d use on the “floor” of a live terrarium, but that will be useful for my next project. Would definitely recommend this kit, especially on sale!

I was looking for a kit that contained everything for a terrarium container I already had. This doesn’t come with a container or plants, but was exactly what I was looking for, there are even little extras like a cork and paintbrush for neatening it all up. I would definitely buy again for future projects.

The only thing I would add is that I had to Google instructions as to which to layer first etc., but that was very easy to do, and the bags were labelled clearly, so I’m pleased with it all!

For someone who has never made up a terrarium it’s a good starter box as you have everything you need (apart from the plants and terrarium). I do however think that for the amount of compost and pebbles etc that you get you could possibly put this together a bit cheaper if you sourced the products individually yourself. Pleased with the outcome though.
