The controls are a downgrade from the Halot One but they’re useable. If you’re not trying to print straight from creality you’ll only use the touchscreen to raise the arm for cleaning or to select a print from an inserted USB
The cover being in a hinge is a great feature. The exhaust tube and fan is alright but not perfect. You’ll still smell the resin. Also, the fan keeps going indefinitely once the print completes. It’s not really a problem but it’s a little loud.
Print quality is good but that probably depends more on your settings than the printer itself. I’m a little disappointed with how much distortion you get at the edges of the plate compared to the center.
This is an awesome little resin printer. Build plate is very small but ideal if ur printing warhammer size models. Well packaged and arrived quickly. Great addition to my 3D printer shelf
Really good, it is able to support those bigger prints. The wash station is a whopping 9 litre capacity.
The only gripe I have is with the sensor on the back. Sometimes it does not detect that the lid is on and refused to work.
Purchased to help eliminate some of the fass when it comes to resin printing. This made things so much easier. Remove prints from the bed, give them a quick pre-wash in isoprobyl alcohol to get worse of the residue off (and help keep the alcohol supply in the provided reservoir cleaner for longer. Switch to ‘wash mode’, run for relevant amount of time, drain models and wait to try, fit the curing mirrored turntable thingy, switch printer to ‘cure mode’, set timer for recommended time and hey presto, models washed, cured and ready for whatever comes next.
I had to edit my review
As any bad experience t wasn’t in relation to printer it self
Creality Resin 3D Printer Halot-Mage, 8K is greet machine , slow but is in relation to fantastic quality much more quality than otters brands .
But if you about speed and quality , then
My problem is in relation fact , Printer was repack as new by third party seller and send as New .
Creality as always care about costumer and brand , contacted me and fix problem immediately .
It just doesn’t work, I’ve tried everything the included lady in the video setting up the few videos online of how you actually get it to adhere because it sure as hell tricks you to thinking it’s working with your design on the lovely screen the beautiful up and down/ in and out motion and a live progress report.,.,, but after an hour you go back and get to see what’s on the build plate ( because it’s a few inches high now )
And nothing! Please help because this is taking the piss.. I have 3 3d printers and although a few learning curves which come natural need learning they all work and I understand them .
But this is gorgeous but does sweet FA
Really happy with the prints it creates, the detail compared to my Photon Mono X is obviously double and amazing to behold.
Great build quality and love the convenient flip up vizor, way easier than lifting one off all the time. Prints come off the platform really easily and I’ve not had a single failed print yet.
I’ve been using the same Resin settings as I was for the Photon with a 50um layer height and yet it prints less than half as fast, even though there’s a profile for it in the latest release of Lychee.
I raised a support call with them and all they said was “Thanks for telling us.”. Great, really helpful.
I’m thinking it’s because it’s actually doing 25um layers so that the voxels are cubic, but then it should be half as fast as the Photon, I’d say it’s only a third as fast, which is a real pain as the few reviews were talking about how fast it was.
Best printer iv used since learning last year iv a mars pro i just put into creality box for safe keeping and love my creality HALOT ONE its Wi-Fi prints are more than exspected it’s very user freindly specially for me learner i paid 200 more than what I paid for this when I baught my mars pro this was just under 200 delivered to me in Dublin ireland i know my brand 3D printer is going to be creality from now on iv freinds ready or have ordered since I mentioned to them on our youtube modelling channels that this is the one to go with for price the quality and just how less stressful it is to get great prints from i never used any other resin yet but what I had there which is clear elegoo resin but great machine i highly truly give this review from my own opinion to how it’s been for me, i just started since I ordered resin since last day i left feedback it came early this week and it’s any cubic and it prints with that perfectly fine too that’s like standard grey it is highly recomended…THANKS AMAZON AND TO THE THE SELLER TOO
My printer arrived and I set it up. Then had issues with wi-fi connection that means I couldn’t send file to the printer. Amazingly they contacted me and how it was going, giving great advise and when it’s confirmed it wasn’t fixable they sending out a new printer. I’ve managed to print a few bits and they are good.
I’m a seasoned FDM printer but new to resins. Having used Creality FDM printers and found them to be good for home use, I decided to try their resin offerings.
I am not sorry I did this as the Halot 1 is a a very good choice.
The machine has a small footprint and is very easy to use. Setup is simple and connecting veto WIFI an obsolute doddle.
The touch screen is clear and easy to use. Everything is laid out well and the icons are clear and easy to understand. Sliced models are loaded via a memory stick or WiFi, I find the memory stick simple and convenient. Printing is relatively fast and yhe quality of detail is very good.
I have used Elegoo water washable resin and with this the smell is certainly there but not too bad. With no other resin experience I do not know if the built in sir filter makes a difference or not.
You will need to purchase resin as none us supplied and some plastic scrapers are recommended as the metal one supplied with the machine is too sharp for the plastic base and could easily damage it.
All in all I have found this printer to be an excellent choice and recommend it to anyone, beginner or experienced.
I’ve been printing on FDM Printers for a while but have avoided SLA printers due to the issues dealing with resin. My daughter continually asks me to create miniatures for her so I decided to give it a shot for the higher quality available.
I was choosing between this printer and the Voxelab Proxima 6. I was close to pulling the trigger on the Voxelab (I already have a Voxelab Aquila FDM printer and love it) but decided against it for the following issues: they are no longer using Chitu boards, I see few if any firmware updates, no wifi or app. This unit had all of these features.
So now onto the Halot One:
Everything was well packaged and the unit appears to be well manufactured. Setup was fairly easy, but recommend following youtube videos rather than following the written instructions.
Pros:
– Vivid and responsive large touchscreen
– Wifi and App control/monitoring through Creality Cloud app
– Ability to update firmware straight from printer and recent firmware updates
– Free stl files available through Creality Cloud
– Halot Box software is actually pretty good, also compatible with Lychee Slicer and Chitubox (kind of)
– prints well first time with default settings
– when you print it allows you use the printer settings or file settings. These can be very convenient as you would not need to reslice based on using different resins.
Cons:
– Build plate is a little awkward to manage. you have to unscrew the large screw and then pull out the build plate. I would have preferred being able to use the screw to hold the build plate itself
– The cover has to be aligned perfectly in order to set properly and even so, resin odors still escape while printing. Would like there to be a stronger seal and a more easy way to align positioning so I don’t risk bumping into the hardware on the way down
– carbon air filter does not appear to do very much.
– using chitubox requires you to convert the file using an extra tool called uvtools.
– installed fep sheet had a small dimple in it. Not sure yet if it will affect printing.
– included test print files were a bit limited
Note: Some users reported receiving a plastic scraper and extra FEP sheets and resin strainers. I believe I received 1 extra FEP sheet, a metal scraper, and 3 resin filters.
