I’m not an audiophile, but I spent a lot of time browsing and trying to decide which over-ear headphones to get. Since they’re so obvious when you’re wearing them, I wanted ones that fit my style but also didn’t want to settle for rubbish sound or flimsy quality.
I’ve had them about 8 weeks now and so far these have been an excellent choice for the price. Easy to use, adequate noise cancellation and incredibly comfortable even for several hours at a time and despite the fact they are slightly too big (I have a small head so most run too big). A negative mentioned by others is the lack of a case but I’ve been folding them and putting them in my bag with other things and they’ve been fine. The sound quality seems pretty good to me, they paired effortlessly with my iPhone and they hold their charge well. When in use there is a flashing indicator which can be a bit distracting if you’re using them in the dark/low light but that’s about the only negative I can find.
Update : I had an issue previously with the headphone however now it got solved. I updated the firmware to latest version and now it connects simultaneously with two devices and works fine when connected to the computer as well. Sound, nc, transparency mode is amazing at this price.
The “Wireless Over-Ear Headphones” (Model WH700NB) from “Edifier” are a set of reasonably budget-priced, headphones that deliver a reasonably-good quality sound for the price, with active noise-cancelling.
Aesthetically the headphones look reasonably stylish in a minimalist kind of way. They do sort of look quite basic and unpretentious. Functional rather than flashy — which in my book is good. The headphones are also of a pretty durable and relatively long-lasting manufacture — with every join and piece looking and feeling tight, smooth and very well manufactured. Indeed, it’s very unlikely that you will ever manage to accidentally damage the solid feeling headband or the earpieces unless you really mistreat them.
Comfort-wise, when being worn the headphones feel really quite comfortable. Not as soft and snug as other, more comfort-focussed headphones can feel, but nevertheless comfortable enough for general day-to-day wearing. This is no doubt primarily down to the black faux-leather padding on the headband as well as the foam filled pads on the insides of the two earpieces. The earpieces also adjust to fit comfortably against your ear, adjusting to the size and shape of your head. You can also adjust the height of the headband by where the earpieces join the headband (the exposed metal brackets on either side simply slide up and down with ease).
Sound quality-wise, the first thing that comes across is the surprising clarity of the audio reproduction and the delivery of deep bass where the notes delve a lot lower. The bass hasn’t been given any noticeable added boost at the lower end of the spectrum like a lot of higher-end headphones do, in order to enhance the deeper tones for the listener to really notice the bass’s underlying presence. So, it’s kind of a truer sound you’re getting here if anything! Unwanted distortion wise, personally I couldn’t pick up anything that shouldn’t be there. No massively noticeable amalgamating of tones (although there isn’t quite the depth of layers you hear with high-end headphones), blurring or corrupting of the clarity of the notes. On the surface the sound certainly seems to be pretty darn distortion free. Again, not audiophile quality, but nevertheless quite good all round.
The active noise cancelling (“ANC”) is ok. Certainly, far from any advanced or high-end ANC. There is definitely some cancelling of the outside world, but not up to the absolute cancelling out that you get with a really decent set of headphones these days. If ANC is an important factor for you, then to be honest, I’d look elsewhere.
The headphones have a 68 hrs battery life between full charges with the ANC turned off, which is reduced to 45 hrs with the ANC turned on. That’s not bad at all, in fact, compared to my other headphones its markedly better.
All in all, the headphones are a decent piece of audio equipment for the money. Admittedly these don’t provide you with high-end audiophile performance, and the ANC is reasonable, but for an all-round set of day-to-day use (say for commuting) they’re more than adequate.
I bought these because I was looking for headphones that would cover my whole ear as I have helix piercings that get irritated easily, and these headphones were perfect!! I listen to a lot of music (up to like 5 or 6 hours a day) and these headphones were incredible comfortable for this. Likewise the sound quality is very good and the battery life is grea
These were surprisingly good headphones for a price. Especialy as I was not expecting too much from it considering the price. In the box, you get headphones and a USB cable for charging the headphones.
First of all, it felt comfortable then put on it’s quite soft and felt rather good even after listening to music for a longer time. Earcups are comfortable and cover the whole ear which is nice especially if you are on the train or something similar. Noise cancelling is not the best but it reduces outside noises, you can’t ask much from headphones which cost 4 times less than some other big brands.
It has connected to my phone really easily and without any issues. Sadly it doesn’t have a wired connection which would be a really good addition to these headphones. Battery life is really good which is a big plus for headphones like these. On the side, it has physical buttons for volume up/down, as well same buttons used to change songs etc. The sound quality is not too bad, you can play around with it in the app for these headphones which can help increase its sound quality a bit.
Overall good headphones, comfortable and the quality is not too bad. I am using them for travelling, and they do the job.
