After long contemplating whether are not to buy this due to the price, my niece told me you are better to get better quality for dearer price as she had one. So I did and have never looked back it is great and maps rooms before hoovering which the cheaper ones don’t do, plus great suction. It was that good my sister then went out and bought one.
Been debating whether or not to get a robot vacuum for a while, looking at various models. I didn’t want to spend the earth but wanted good suction as most of our floors are carpet. I have to say I’m really pleased with my choice. The eufy works great, cleans the crumbs from my messy six year old. Mappings been fine too, had a to add a couple of no go areas and they’ve worked well. All in all would definitely recommend, I love the little fella.
Considering the price this is a good robot vacuum BUT its cable detection is next to non exisitent. If you leave a cable on the floor it will get tangled inside the cleaner.
I could easily see it pull a laptop off a desk if a cable was dangling on the floo
I didn’t imagine it would work this well. This is my new favourite toy at the moment and I cannot believe how well it picks up. I can highly recommend this product.
My carpets have never looked so good! Very intelligent, highly capable. The suction is fantastic! I schedule the robovac to hoover while I’m at work and come home to a pristine flat. Better than any handheld hoover I have ever owned. Mapping is easy and accurate. 10/10 must buy!!!
Having upgraded from the G30 Verge after 3 years, I was really pleased with this one. I have two double-coated medium dogs so my robot vacuums are usually on at least once a day (if not twice a day) to keep the fur down. With the extra suction power, this does wonders and I feel I can rely on it every time.
Once I had set up each floor of my house, it navigated effortlessly around including a No Go Zone I’d added via the app to avoid the dining set and any stray toys accidentally left out.
The level of customisation through the app is really useful. As an example, I have a schedule set up so the vacuum will use max suction power over two passes in my utility room only which responds to a Ring motion sensor.
So far my only issue with this vac is that it defaults to standard settings if I press the Power button on the top of the vac itself and forgets all customisation so I have to go into the app and set it all up again including telling it which floor its on every time instead of working it out itself upon start up. I may be using it wrong, but this is my experience so far.
I had to chase it around a bit at the start but it seemed to work things out. It’s a wonderful little gadget and did a good job vacuuming my entire downstairs. I think it’ll make me tidier too which is no bad thing. Not 100 percent but it did a pretty thorough job – I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it is. A great purchase
I’ve always hoovered but my body can’t cope anymore, my kids talked me into getting a robot hoover and I so wish I had done this years ago, it does such a great job and I wouldn’t be without it, I highly recommend this robot vacuum best item I’ve ever purchased.
And needs very little fuss
I’m actually really surprised by how good this little robot vacuum is. I bought it because we have two dogs that continually shed and we end up hoovering twice a day to keep on top of it. This genius and time saving invention has instantly stopped us having to do that anymore. I have mapped out the house and set schedules and then everyday at the same time of it goes on its merry way picking up all the hair and mess that’s built up over the course of the day. Once done it automatically heads home and dumps all that waste into its own dust bin, making it even easier for me to empty. I’m not joking when I say this is literally one of the best gadgets I have bought in a long time and I would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants to save time in their lives for other things than hoovering.
This little robot is great. I have 2 dogs and it works hard to collect the dirt and hairs they shed. I was tormented hoovering and mopping to no end, chasing my tail and I think eufy had save the day. I recommend this. I use eufy most day but don’t throw out your plug in Hoover though you will still need it as i still use it for up stairs and for deep clean days as eufy can’t get all the hard to reach places all the time. Worth the money
We had never considered buying a robot vacuum cleaner. We had bought our daughter-in-law one as a Xmas present. At her request.
When we visited the next couple of times we noticed a huge difference in the house. Our grandsons toys and motor cars no longer graced the carpets. The dining room’s hard floor positively glowed. ‘Bob’ the vacuum had been programmed to clean the house daily while the children were taken to school having picked up their toys. On her return our daughter-in-law could start her busy working day in clean & tidy house.
We were sufficiently impressed to purchase ‘Dotty’. We mapped our three storey home and set her to work. The entertainment she provides shouldn’t be underestimated. Even our cat enjoyed prowling after her from room to room. More to the point the revelation on emptying the quantity of compacted dust, fluff, cat hair and dirt was shocking.
The house is gratifyingly clean, the carpet pile is looking immaculate and appears thicker. No danger of her falling down the stairs, she knows what she’s doing. Unfused by table or chair legs, doors or speaker stands. She uses LiDAR to scan the house. Check out uTube for the Eufy X8.
Downsides, she’s not inexpensive, finding the right space for her home base could be tricky in a cluttered house. She ideally needs it moved from floor to floor with her. It will pay to get dining chairs and other lose items, cat bowls, etc out of the way while she or he works. Oh, she’s programmable and Alexa is compatible with her.
Having previously vacuumed our three storeys from top to bottom, she does a job I’d rather not do. What’s more she does it a lot better than I do.
Firstly for context, I’ve just upgraded to the X8 from a Eufy 11S Max so I’ll be comparing them through my review. I’ve had the 11S for 5 years and have always been impressed at how well it cleaned. He has now retired to my mums house who is very excited to have him.
So on to the X8. This is a huge power increase from the 1500Pa of the 11S to 4000Pa on the X8 so knew the bin would be fuller than usual with more fine grit being picked up. I forgot to take the obligatory bin pic so apologies for that.
Right out the box it went on to a full charge then after setting up the app and connecting it to WiFi I had trouble with sending it out on a no vacuum run to map out the house. No matter what, it wouldn’t work so just sent it out on an auto run and it worked fine.
It took around 20 minutes to fully map and vacuum my small flat and after it headed straight back to the charger. What I did notice however was there was more cat hair left on the floor than would be with the 11S. This, in my opinion was due to the random nature of the 11S meaning most places get more than one pass. I looked around the app but couldn’t find anywhere to add more than one pass while in auto and it took me a couple of days to realise if you click room selection or zones, you can ask for 2/3 (respectively) extra passes which solved my concerns. I mistook the x1 button to relate to the map magnification.
Overall I’m really pleased with the performance of the model. It’s a huge upgrade for me and luckily my flat was furnished with my old RoboVac in mind so didn’t have to change much at all.
The supplied pictures show where he sleeps, I know the manual says to leave plenty of space free around the whole think but as much as I love it, I don’t want it on display all the time so it’s just to show that you can get away with tucking it away, I’ve had no issues with the 11S or the X8 so far by doing it this way.
Not had an Eufy for awhile; went to a cheaper make after the last one died. The technology has improved tenfold; app is brilliant and the room mapping is very impressive. You can control the vac to clean any room or area and it will make its way back to the base when finished or when needs a recharge. For the price this is definitely worth the money and I will not be changing to a cheaper brand again!
A real struggle to get it linked to the wifi. Instructions pretty poor even with latest version of IOS and the app etc
After 3 days and about 30 attempts. Finally got it connected and working. Still asks every day to update software and then doesn’t. So far from Perfect. But does a good job.
Suction is adequate but do not expect it to be a stealthy clean. It’s pretty loud even from just the suction but banging into things too despite the LiDAR Scanner.
This works well but I recommend buying an additional filter set.
The filter has 3 elements and the thin black hepa pre filter will blow away outside in the wind if you put it down when emptying.
I bought the replacement filter which comes as two spares. I can wash one while using another. It does not replace the Dyson stick vacuum but it collects loads of house dust and I empty it every day. The dust is around a litre at the most.
Put your phone charger out it way as eat will eat any cables. Possibly have your kids adopted if they continually fail to comply with this. But don’t worry Dorris minors personality and IQ outshines the average adolescent.
Got this for my wife for Christmas. Very pleased overall. While its not a smart robot (does not learn floor plans) it does a very good job and gets everywhere with its random program. Its able to get under things like the kitchen table and under stair landing that are difficult to reach with an upright. I empty it every day and its full of pet hair and dust we have a German Shepard and two cats. Easy to set off in other areas as well. Overall does what it says. The brushes work very well and it picks up everything in its path. Gets over door thresholds and floor rugs surprisingly well. Always finds its way home to charge. Easy to empty/clean and good filter desighn. Would definately recommend. Im sure the much higher priced models are more efficient by learning the house but this is fine for us and cleans very well.
I originally had a Eufy 30C, which was terrible, so I returned it to amazon. It went around aimlessly, picking up dust (but not crumbs). If it hit a doorway on its way out of a room, it would turn around and clean the room again. It would have fallen down the stairs if I hadn’t caught it.
The L60 is a vast improvement. It maps each floor of the house and you can ask it to clean specific rooms or even areas of each room. It charges downstairs, so when upstairs needs to be cleaned, you can pick the cleaner up, put it down anywhere and tell it to clean. It turns around, then knows exactly where it is (even though two bedrooms are identical, so I have no idea how it knows which one it is in!).
It tells you if it gets trapped on something etc, so is great. You can set it to clean ‘now’ or create a cleaning schedule for it.
The only downsides that I can think of are that you need to use ‘other’ technology to be able to use it – I have a tablet with the free eufy ‘app’, which works fine, but I can’t really see how you could use it without the internet.
The other consideration is the cost and availability of supplies. I’ve had other manual cleaners for a long time and have never replaced a filter (or any other part), but the RoboVac needs to have filters and other parts changed periodically. I’ve had a quick look on amazon but can’t find any accessories for it (like so many manufacturers, the accessories are not interchangeable between models).
As such, I have restricted my use of the RoboVac to times when I need the place cleaned, but don’t have the time to do it. I need to keep a manual cleaner anyway, as stairs need to be vacuumed and it’s also more convenient to get the manual cleaner out to clear up small spillages, rather than find the tablet, open the app, draw the area to be cleaned etc. I don’t have (or want!) a smart speaker, so I can’t ask Alexa to tell the cleaner to ‘clean the dining room’.
I’ve been wa ting a robot vacuum for a while but my husband didn’t think it woukd be worth the money. Eventually decided to get one regardless and spent a long time researching which one to get. I knew I wanted an Eufy, which narrowed it down somewhat, but there were still so many different models!
To help narrow the search down further I decided I wasn’t bothered abiut having a hybrid one, as the reviews of the ‘mop’ feature weren’t great. Instead, the key features for me were high suction and mapping capabilities, as there were a few places I didn’t want it to go (under the sofa, places there are loose cables, etc). I came across the L60, which was cheaper than some of the other models but with the highest suction and mapping. I couldn’t find any reviews, and realised this was because it was a relatively new model. Decided to risk it anyway, especially as it had 50 off, making it even cheaper. I’ve always found Amazon Customer Services great so thought if I experienced any issues I’d be covered.
I’m so glad I took the risk, as my title says, it’s one of the best things I’ve bought. Working full time with three young children with extra curricular clubs I find it hard to keep in top of the housework, including vacuuming/sweeping. Eugene, as our Robovac is affectionately known, has been a game changer. I can put him on whenever needed to keep on top of everything. For example, vacuuming the kitchen floor after breakfast whilst we get ready for work and school. It’s also helped keep the house tidier generally, as the kids get warned before he wakes up to make sure all their toys are off the floor.
Key positive features:
– suction is great, I find it picks up really well both on carpet and hard floor.
– charge lasts well. I’d say we have an average floor plan and he manages all of the downstairs in one go.
– The rotating brushes work well at brushing in debris towards the vac, increasing the amount it picks up from outside of its own circumference.
– navigation has been working well so far. The mapping means he is usually quite systematic in his cleaning, something non-mappings models are criticised for. He’s only got stuck once or twice, and this was due to him becoming wedged between a step and a basket.
– room cleaning: If I only need him to clean certain rooms you can select which one specifically via the app. You can also use this feature to select the order he cleans in (the order you select them in), which I find useful if I know I have some bits to tidy up in one room first, as he can still be making a start on the others.
– zone cleaning: using the app you can also create specific zones for him to clean, useful if you need to do some spot cleaning.
– no go zones: again using the app you can create no go zones, which I have used for areas where we have exposed cables, and for our fire hearth, for example.
– Multifloor mapping allows you to have different maps for each floor in your house.
– you can create routines with Alexa to use voice activation.
– decent sized waste compartment, although I tend to empty everyday out of habit.
Negatives:
– not many to be honest!
– The Alexa functionality could be better, it’s quite limited to turning him on or off. It would be great if you could activate some of the above features via voice control (e.g. Room cleaning). However, I think this is an issue generally with Alexa and Eufy rather than specific to this model.
– The robovac creates a map the first time it is used, which is not always accurate in identify where one room starts/ends. Within the app you can amend this by partioning and merging rooms. However, Ive found this function quite hit and miss, with it not allowing me to partion some parts of rooms it has correctly misidentified. Not a massive issue, but it does me when I ask it to clean the living room, I then need to create a zone clean, as it thinks the first part of our living room is our hallway and therefore misses this out in the room clean.
Overall, I’m really pleased with the L60 and would thoroughly recommend.
I have been considering buying a robot vacuum for a few years, mainly out of laziness, however my husband sort of announced he was rehoming a puppy from someone a few weeks ago and that pushed the issue! I’m allergic to dogs and he got a spaniel, so I was dreading the hair… I didn’t want to resent the dog so figured it was the perfect time to treat myself to the robot. I chose the L60 because of the extra strong suction and hepa filter. I didn’t want one that mopped as well, I just wanted something to properly clean the carpet and hard floors and I have not been disappointed. I send it on a trip round the house every morning when husband and dog have gone to work for the day and a few mins later everything feels clean again. Even the air feels cleaner. It’s totally brilliant.
It was tricky to pair to the Wifi/App. The app didn’t have this model listed but eventually I googled the right thing and it seemed that the key to it all was bluetooth which is not mentioned in the rather brief instructions. Somehow it all paired up after a couple of attempts. It was worth the faff because the app is pretty good and allows you to set the suction level, draw no-go zones on the map and control spot- or room-cleaning, or just set it to do the whole floor. It already knew not to throw itself down the stairs though i did supervise a few times! I have connected it to Alexa but I generally just use a widget on my phone to set it off.
Overall highly recommended. Between the zero effort floor cleaning and needing to tidy up anything it might try to get tangled up with I’ve ended up with a house that is CLEANER because of the dog!
Pros – This is a great vacuum for the price. It easily hoovered up cat hair, my long hair, and crumbs. It navigated around well, including under my sofas and the footstools, and even climbed over my thickest rug and cable tidy – it has a proper good go at getting over and around obstacles so it didn’t need any human help!
It comes with a spare filter, spare sweep brushes and a cleaning brush for the dust container. The dust container pops out easily for emptying, and the roller brush and sweeper brushes pop out with a gentle tug so you can cut off any wrapped hair – much easier than my stand-up vacuum. I don’t know how it does it, but it knows where it’s not cleaned yet and which spots need another go.
Cons – The 11s max doesn’t have an app or work with alexa etc, it just has a handheld remote with basic buttons, so it’s harder to check how much longer it will take to complete the clean, or how much % charge it has. It doesn’t have the “keep out” tape like the more expensive models – it learns where to stop by gently bumping into the skirting boards or obstacles. It’s quite pushy when it wants to get somewhere, so I’ve had to move the cat water bowls and my glass lanterns from the floor so they don’t get bumped and spill over.
Overall, I’m really pleased I chose the cheaper Robovac 11S Max version over the more expensive ones, it does exactly what I want for a good price and I can just let it do its thing instead of faffing with a phone app. I can imagine an elderly person who isn’t into technology would find this easier to use, and much less bending down than a traditional vacuum.
I have been aware of these products for many years, but not weakened and purchased one, I was sceptical about how much dust they hold because they are relatively small. My daughter has been using one for many years so I took the plunge. I started with a dumb one (one that worked its way around the room randomly), then opted for a smart one. The Smart version with LIDAR is definitely the one to choose if you have not got a square room. This version will map the room and learn where obstacles are located. I would buy another one of these products, if I needed one.
Some things to note:
You do have to empty it after each use, it does have a small capacity.
You may need another vacuum cleaner to suck out the dust in the air filter, that worked for me rather than washing it regularly, they do provide two filters though.
You can train it to learn a room, and then add keep out areas. It can store multiple rooms, you just select the one it is in before you start it.
It will work around the edge of the area first and then cover the rest of the room. Typically 20 mins to do a lounge and dining room (with obstacles).
It picks up a surprising amount of dust and debris even when you use it daily and consider your floor was clean.
It picks up lots of hairs from a pet.
While I have trained it for two rooms, it does sometimes forget where it is and go off randomly. I have not figured out why, but for this reason alone I would not want it to be vacuuming a room while I am not around in the house. This occurs around 1 in 7 times, and may be because I move it between rooms.
Can I live without it – No, it gets a boring chore done very efficiently, and once you set it off and are confident it has figured out where it is in the room you can leave it to do it’s thing.
The app is ok, but a bit clunky to use. You can remotely check on where it is located and what it is doing.
It can negotiate hard floor to carpet boundaries.
There is a setting where it will automatically adjust the suction power depending on what it is vacuuming.
I started with a kitchen and garden room open plan area with few obstacles and a hard floor, it coped well with that and then moved to a more complex area with keep out zones programmed in.
I think compared to me vacuuming an area, I would be more confident in this product covering everywhere than me doing it by hand.
