This was a simple set up it connected to my phone easily and the picture is so clear even the night vision works really well.
Unfortunately it hasn’t had alot of visitors been winter months and hasn’t had the best light to keep it fully charged because of the early dark night. But I think as the spring summer sets in it will be amazing.
I dont need to keep the feeder near a window where my cats will scare birds off and my son is finding it fascination watching the few birds we have had visit
Seems strong and hard wearing has held up on the front of my garage thru the winter even with the small bit of snow we have had.
Great idea, but could have been implemented a little better. For a start we are not convinced that orange is the best of colours to use in a birdfeeder. We would’ve preferred this if it was blended in to our garden surroundings, but also be less likely to scare of some of the birds.
another issue we had is that it can be quite fiddly to remove the SD card. This isn’t a showstopper but we don’t have dexterity issues. Not convinced if we did have such issues we would be able to remove the SD card easily.
Very well packaged and very well presented. As long as it meets your needs, the presentation makes this very gift worthy.
Very easy to assemble with decent instructions.
Very easy to fix to wall for similar structure.
Acceptable quality in the camera. This isn’t going to win any wildlife documentary awards. But for our back garden bird, watching and recording what comes to the feeder — it’s more than acceptable.
We have slightly mixed feelings on this it’s probably a 3 1/2 stars rather than four stars. It is functional and it does provide results but we would certainly replace the orange colour immediately if we could.
This has a really good camera and the solar charging is next level, it can be used as a bird cam but also double as a security camera. The AI can try to identify what bird is present and it seems quite accurate but this is an extra paid service. The design is a bit bright with white and orange but it is sturdy and well constructed, some shabby bits with hot glue are used but they are effective.
Birdwatching upgraded! The 1080P camera with AI bird species identification and solar panels is a bird lover’s dream. Full night vision adds a unique touch to observing our feathered friends. A smart and nature-friendly device. Love to discover new species and AI is also very fun to use.
This is really cool, and I really had no idea that such things existed…
It is pricey, I will say that, but the technology is very clever. It’s worked so far on solar power alone (I did give it a charge inside before it was hung up) and the camera and picture quality is very good, even at night. The setup and install was simple enough, as is the app. The notifications pop up as expected and luckily I’ve not had to use the squirrel alarm since I’ve got it so high up!
The rain hat for the food seems to be working well, as it doesn’t look like any of the seeds are wet.
My only gripe really is that it’s a shame that it’s not slightly nicer looking! The orange is very bright and I think it would be nicer if it was more natural looking, and less ‘blocky’. But I guess that’s just my opinion and maybe people like the style 🙂
I ordered this for my garden to teach my children more about wildlife and they absolutely love it.
It’s app operated- which is very straight forward to set up. I really like the fact that it’s solar panelled so you aren’t messing with lots of wires.
It had absolutely loads of bird recognition software. It can recognise so many birds, which I double checked against google and it was spot on. What I like as well is it will give you a percentage of how accurate it thinks it is against the specie it has detected. So if it’s coming up as 98% for instance then you know that it’s probably that bird. This is especially handy for the rare birds.
The actually bird feeder is really spacious too, so plenty of space for you to put the bird feed, and I imagine more than one bird could perch on it at a time.
The night vision is so so clear- far better than I expected. So on these current winter nights where it’s dark quick, my children can still observe the birds. It also has two way audio so that either you can hear the birds or potentially make a noise to hopefully deter something from the feeder. I’ve actually had a squirrel on this which I thought was quite nice.
The instructions are very clear and the bracket it comes with to set this up was straight forward to set up.
Yes it’s pricey at 199, but for everything it does I actually think it’s an amazing gift or great addition to your garden. Equally would be great for people struggling with mobility to still allow them to see outside nature.
Overall we’ve been really impressed and happy to recommend.
This now has a voucher cutting the price in half to about 100 quid. That is just about ok in terms of value. I am not sure how well the solar power is going to work in the winter months but I have installed it so I can recharge via usbC from a power bank.
Video is surprisingly good and set up is pretty straightforward so long as you can split out you WiFi signals. I have mucro SD installed as cloud image only kept for 3 days. The bird recognition app is subscription and not worth it for me.
Overall seems fairly robust and it certainly works so far.
We’ve had great fun with this bird feeder camera – we’ve seen more using the night vision than during the daytime, although at this stage (possibly to do with the time of year!) it’s actually been magpies and mice rather than anything else! We think it might be to do with the location of the feeder, and plan in the Spring to move it to an area where it gets a bit more coverage and the smaller birds feel a bit safer using it.
It’s not the prettiest item to look at, and it is quite expensive, but it’s very easy to use and the app works well. It seems very robust, although a full winter outside will show more how tough the plastic is, but so far it looks just the same as when we put it up a month ago.
I think it would be a great gift for a bird-watching enthusiast, or just a family like us with young children who find it very interesting!
Takes bird watching to a new level with cool features which work well to identify birds using the feeder. Very impressive and a joy to get updates and view the footage of the surprising variety of birds visiting.
My only complaint is that is only supports 2.4Ghz WiFi. In 2023 this is ridiculous, especially for such an expensive product. Most in the UK are now using 5Ghz as standard, so you need to enable and run 2 WiFi networks.
-User-friendly garden tech for bird and squirrel watching
-Simple setup with app and Wi-Fi
-Vibrant feeder design; micro SD card enhances live viewing and cloud storage
-Charging options: USB C cable or solar panels
-Flexible fixing options
-Great camera features: two-way communication, motion detection
-There is an additional cost for bird recognition on the app
-Captivating experience for my children, great for spacious gardens
So far I am happy to own it. It was simple to operate and worked without any technical difficulties. It has dual solar panels for charging in the outdoor. Has clear view and supports colored night vision. It has 2L capacity which is large enough. Nicely designed and looks great. The built quality is also great.
The picture/video has in depth details. Provides 1080p high resolution. It has embedded artificial intelligence to detect birds and send alerts.
Arrived well-packaged. The price is slightly expensive in my opinion. Will recommend.
Simple to set up, this is a brilliant idea for wildlife lovers.
Very clear vision – so nice to be able to see the birds (and squirrels!) up close.
Easy to fill up.
I should preface my review by saying that I like seeing birds in our garden, whereas my wife likes to use a bird app to identify bird song in the garden and can name just about everything that visits. This is my review from a casual appreciation perspective.
This bird feeder is both a marvel and in my opinion an expensive gimmick that probably won’t stand the test of time. Conceptually it’s very cool, and crucially it does connect to my phone, the camera does work (I’ve reviewed wildlife cameras recently that I couldn’t get to work AT ALL!) and it generally functions similarly to most wifi security cameras, with the added bonus of the focus on birds.
Visually, it’s pretty hideous and looks like a child’s toy in garish colours. The plastic will last better than wood would, I suppose, but it doesn’t look lovely. I trialled this in my garden and was mildly distracted by it for a week, but then remembered the reason I don’t use a bird feeder more often, because the spilled seed attracts less welcome forms of wildlife!
This isn’t a terrible bird feeder and if you love the idea, I wouldn’t want to discourage you from buying it. There are probably people who’ll get a lot of mileage out of this. I found it a bit of a gimmick and proof of concept rather than something I need in my life.
My mum has a huge garden that she spent her heart and soul getting to a level where tons of birds and other wildlife come to visit.
Although the bird feeder itself isn’t the prettiest of things, the design that went into the camera, the app, the solar charging, etc. is just fantastic.
It was super easy to mount. App works great and is easy to use. The AI detection also works quite well, too.
As a bonus, she now has a very high quality security camera she can use day or night.
Highly recommend!
Its smart features allow remote monitoring, making it perfect for bird enthusiasts. The camera’s motion detection alerts you to avian activity, and its night vision captures nocturnal visitors. While it’s a bit pricey, it’s a fantastic addition to any bird lover’s garden, providing hours of entertainment and valuable insights into feathered friends.
I can sit for hours watching the birds so I was super excited to try this out. It’s absolutely amazing. Very easy to assemble and set up. I’ve used the thick strap to attach it to the tree and it’s very sturdy. The camera is clear. Love it.
My daughter loves unicorns, and this bundle of unicorn toys made her super happy. These unicorns are very soft and cuddly, and the tiny ones are especially cute. The quality is average, but it’s a nice toy for kids and a treat for those kids who adore unicorns.
Quite a large unit with a large feed capacity.
The camera is a proper sized cam housed in the back of the unit.
I have a wild life cam that has a fixed lens built in but this one has manoeuvrability and has a high resolution.
To the rear there is a Wi-Fi antenna which helps with the range but a SD card slot if you struggle.
Playback is less frustrating this way.
A dedicated app is required for functionality and a paid for subscription will give you extra features.
Rechargeable or solar panels.
I find these to be quite efficient however I haven’t gone through the dark winter months yet.
Bird feeder cam
Nature bought directly in your hand, a nicely designed bird feeder, that gives you a live view of birds feeding, with built in AI recognition, so you can see what kind of bird it is that’s feeding too.
This is not only a lovely design but also a clever design. The house is a good size, with built in solar panels , so it’s charging itself while you’re not using it and it has motion detection, so it’s also not wasting battery when you’re not using it. You have a large capacity for the bird feed. There is a cute little perch on the front, no matter the size of the bird, the camera can be tilted if you need to move it around a little to see better.
The app also allows easy share options, so you can show your friends and family the beautiful view you can see.
There is a two way audio system, not that I’d attempt to talk to the birds but hearing their adorable sounds, is absolutely necessary for the soul!
The app provides more than expected. The camera quality is decent, the sound works well. A perfect little insight to what we usually view from afar. I would recommend it.
This is a great idea either to get you into the garden more or to attract wildlife etc.. if you have no idea, like me about what you might find its a bit of a gamble since if I’m honest all I ever really see are the scary looking black birds that all perch on the roof of houses opposite. Its not the best time of year for it weather wise although that might mean more birds are on the lookout for an easy meal. Putting it together is simple enough, you need a Smart phone to take advantage of the camera features and on top of that a subscription package (monthly or yearly) to fully get the best out of the advertised AI related stuff. Would make a good gift for those keen to explore the garden more, I fear where we live we don’t get a good range of wildlife however I might be pleasantly surprised and I guess that’s where this thing comes into its own.
Sadly no birds have visited me yet. But I do get notifications all day of my cat coming and going. And quite possibly the reason I’ve had no birds. Have had a lovely little moment of a slug and a snail on a secret nighttime date though!
Came with everything you need. Including a template for the bracket and a screw driver. The screw driver wasn’t the best quality and flaked a bit. But assembled the bits OK.
It’s a plastic housing which feels fairly durable. The camera quality is great. Night and day. Its reactive for not only the actual feeder tray. But any movement in the garden. It captures my cat strolling by, foxes at night. The occasional bumble bee flying past. So it’s quite sensitive which is good.
It’s been very easy to install and set up on the app. It has 2 way audio. Although I turned the volume off for outgoing as didn’t want it to scare the neighbours.
Has 2 types of nightvision. Black and white and colour with a built in flash.
I’m sad I’ve had no birds, but the actual unit is amazing, it’s like having an extra security camera in the garden.
The concept is good just the colours are very bright, and this is made from plastic and there are couple of areas were the wired is held in place with a blob of glue see pictures to show, I think the money charge is in the camera and the identification of the birds rather than the house as the house is not the best for 170 even with the small discount at the time of review, most birds or feeding animals will be a bur cautious with this but I suspect will get used to the bright orange, this is wireless and I would set up before fitting for ease and do not for get to make sure you fit in the best sunny location to keep the batteries charged and do not forget to down load the app, overall for bird watching this is worth four stars but for the price and plastic body I drop one sta
Arrived well packaged and with fast delivery a good working bird feeder camera.
It is solar powered and requires good Wi-Fi signal.
The installation was easy to make, and the image quality is brilliant, day mode and night mode.
The camera, the feeder and the stand are really solid, weatherproof, and educational.
It has bird motion detection and will notify on the phone ( app Vicohome) every time when a bird is in shot.
The food container has a large capacity of 2L
We are fascinated with this camera, and love to see birds so close eating the seeds and sing.
I would highly recommend it.
A really cool bird feeder as it eliminates the need for me to sit there and wait to capture some amazing pictures. The smart bird feeder has a high quality camera which connects to a phone app. The phone app gives real time notifications of any birds as they come to the feeder. The camera has a fairly long range connection to the device as it supports 2.4g with clear high quality. The included Ai as per specification allows the camera to identify tons of different birds which is great because it can also identify other creatures such as squirrels and use the defensive mechanisms to drive them away. The cloud service is however needed for this bird detection functionality so might not be ideal.
The camera is clear and crisp with a wide angle clear view and because of how up close the bird will be the lens magnifies the image to give you a clear image of the bird’s details. The high resolution allows you to capture images with great detail. The camera has a very long battery life as it has a 5W solar panel which helps it stay topped up and reduces the times you have to go up, retrieve it and charge it. A sd card can be used to keep the files on the unit and organized in one place however for cloud users this can just be stored into the cloud.
The wireless bird feeder with camera and solar panels is a remarkable addition to any bird enthusiast’s backyard.
The integrated camera allows for a captivating bird-watching experience, as it captures high-quality images and videos of the feathered visitors.
The wireless connectivity enables real-time streaming to a mobile device or computer, allowing me to observe and appreciate the birds’ behaviour from the comfort of my home. Having the solar panels provide a sustainable and eco-friendly power source, ensuring continuous operation without the need for frequent battery replacements.
The bird feeder itself is thoughtfully designed, with ample space for birds to perch and feed, and it is easy to refill and clean.
This innovative device combines technology, nature, and conservation, making it a fantastic tool for bird lovers and a great way to connect with the beauty of the avian world.
The camera bird feeder is relatively easy to set up. At first I was looking on the camera for the power switch (usually located on the bottom or back, in this case they have the camera upside down. You need to remove the silicone cover at the top to access the power button and card slot. The camera is screwed into the housing so you just need to tilt the camera forward. It is basically a security camera in a bird feeder. Even the app is set up more as a security camera. It took less than two minutes to connect up to my wifi and get going. Minimal building required simply screw on the tray and the aerial. And then its finding a location and fixing the mounting plate.
Location is key, normally with WIFI devices in the garden they have to be near as the signal is poor. Not with this, the aerial really does help and so much better coverage than usual for my back garden. The photo attached was just from setting up, to check the image quality, I’ve had to move the camera due to some work being done in my garden. Ideally you want to place it somewhere not too exposed but also it needs to get full sun or as close as for the solar panels. And I found its better if the sun isnt shining directly at the camera for better images.
Its a very brightly coloured bird feeder and while I feel it would look better more camouflaged, the one benefit being lighter in colour is it wont get as hot in the summer. The tray does have ventilation holes and while the roof protects some of it from the rain, rain doesn’t always angle straight down. The tray does have a good size lip around it so less seed is going to be blown from the tray in strong winds.
The main feature of this camera is the bird recognition with cloud storage which is a paid for subscription. Personally I haven’t taken this and not sure on the benefit given I can probably count on one hand the species of bird which I have visit, and local storage works for me. A slight negative is the solar panel wire connected to the camera is micro USB, would have been better if it was the more reliable USB C. In theory it shouldn’t need unplugging frequently so wont get as much wear and tear. At the time of reviewing I feel the price is a little expensive for what it is but image quality seems good and so far its working well with no real maintenance or battery top up required.
Both my grandparents are staying at how most of the time and because they have a nice house and at the back a large garden they like to feed the animals and also I have seen that they put food for the birds and I wanted to surprise them with a nice present and I found this camera which is a very practical for them to get the recording of the birds and identify the species.
To set this up is very simple, from the pack and with the strap provided I have attached that to the tree so that my both grandparents be able to reach it in order to refill with food and the next step I have downloaded the app on one smartphone and after pairing it with the bird feeder, I could easily see the live view any time I wanted.
The whole process of installation plus setting up the app took around 20 minutes and just to give you an inside how simple it is to use this product just imagine that my grandparents are not that great with technology in general and they manage easily to operate these bird feeder and to enjoy even the liveview.
Related to the video quality, considering that I work as a professional videographer I perfectly understand technical details and I would say that what this camera can record it is more or less decent and I also check the footage during nighttime when the night vision gets activated and I could easily distinguish details and see the birds properly.
The interesting part about this camera is the fact that the container where the food goes it is quite large and birds can easily get access to(my grandmother told me that she also seen some squirrels playing around and trying to catch some food) and I see both my grandparents being very happy when they see birds around and especially on the camera because they check the video and they discuss about the species of birds.
Overall the product performs as it should and I have asked them if they have experienced any conveniences such as for the app not to connect oh to lose the signal or not to be able to see properly the image when it is recorded and they have told me that none of these happened which indicates the fact that the bird feeder performs as it should.
The camera and bird feeder is decently constructed, the plastics being good quality, and not brittle. The whole product is generally good quality, however not the prettiest thing. In fact, it’s a touch ugly and garish, but you do kind of get used to it!
As a bird feeder, it’s good. Easy to add bird seed etc, with a good capacity. The ‘table’ in front allows you to add say a suet ball, which I’ve done. Fixing is via a bracket and screws which is fine, or alternatively (my choice), a hook and loop strap. The strap seems strong, a kind of webbing type material, with the softer loop section running full length just short of one end, which is hook type. Spot the schoolboy errorThe hook section should have been on the OPPOSITE side! DOH!. This meant after wrapping around the tree trunk, I had to ‘twist’ the strap, effectively reversing it, before the end section, to allow the two materials to meet and secure. Not the world’s end, but crikey — seriously?
To the camera. The instructions are pretty good, but as is usually the case and as with many other similar products, it’s easier to just follow prompts when loading the app / configuring. The app was easy and straightforward to register and load, with a QR code link, so all fine there. The camera has onboard storage capacity, via Micro SD slot for up to 128Gb, but no card is included. However, this created a real problem. It took multiple attempts using FOUR different micro SD cards (ranging between 32Gb and 128Gb. There was a mix of card not registered, couldn’t format, and losing format settings, with an annoying audible message to format the card. I was close to giving up, but persisted, and after c45 minutes, was successful (with one of the cards — 64Gb, I had already tried a few time).
Connection to Wi-Fi didn’t throw up any problems, connection was easy and straightforward. Unlike some wireless cameras, this one didn’t refuse to connect to my mesh system, which is important to me. I use a Mesh system in my house, which is quite large, and the only proper way to get fast connectivity all over (if you want seamless connection, unlike awful repeaters etc). Some cameras only ‘see’ a ‘normal’ Wi-Fi network, meaning you have to change the phone Wi-Fi connection to the primary standard Wi-Fi to connect etc; which is all well and good, but it then means range is limited, so compromises location. Even with connection to my Mesh, it took a while for the signal to stabilise outside (some cameras I’ve tried have better Wi-Fi), but once settled was fine.
The camera works well, motion sensitivity can be adjusted, but to be honest, I didn’t see much difference. Even on the lowest setting foliage rustling still triggers, but that’s not the end of the world. In spite of that, no bird has yet landed for a feed. No idea why, but I’ll continue to monitor*, and if and when one does, I’ll add a pic / video sequence! Night vision (IR) is actually pretty good, better than some others. The internal lithium battery is decent capacity, 5000 mAh. The solar panels are better than most other similar, in that they are strongly laminated, and don’t look as though they will suffer early oxidisation. As for efficiency, absolutely superb. Before switching on / setting up / siteing, I fully charged — 4 x days ago. Even in dull conditions, charging is taking place, and even now (early in the morning, so has been working overnight), still 99%. This is brilliant.
The app is decent, and there are various settings that can be tweaked, not dissimilar to many others. So, to ‘all not being what it seems’ then. The headline feature of this, and that which will undoubtedly create much interest is the ‘AI’ feature, with notification of species, and other features etc. All well and good, BUT! This is ONLY WITH SUBSCRIPTION! You have to pay a monthly fee. This isn’t made clear in the listing, so only purchase this (on that feature basis) if you are happy to pay a monthly fee.
Overall, this is really good, although the SD issue is a little concerning. Solar works exceptionally well. Bearing in mind the bird recognition etc only comes with subscription, makes this actually quite expensive for what it is. Great product otherwise.
UPDATE: Have now had a couple of Robins using the feeder, and captured images (recordings) — Brilliant!
I hope this has been helpful.
This bird camera feeder is a great product that i will really enjoy using. The product requires some basic assembly before you mount it, this took me around 15 mins to piece together. The main body/house is all plastic so should last well out in the British weather. The camera appears to be a standard outdoor wifi cam with a 1080p definition. You are required to download a free app and set up an account in order to use the camera. The app is definitely geared towards a security camera rather than a bird camera. It took a little exploration deep within the app to find the relevant bird cam features, namely the AI recognition. You are required to subscribe to the bird cam AI features which includes cloud recording at a cost of 3.99 a month, they include a 1 month free trial when you subscribe.
The camera sends push notification when it detects motion and the AI appears to work great – it detected my family members as people and my dogs as pets – so it’s a kind of 2 in 1 device that you can not only use for bird watching but also as a security cam if you wished.
The camera has a built in battery which can be charged via USB or the roof mounted solar panels – having used the device for nearly a week now i can say that the solar panels work great in charging and keeping the battery topped up.
Video quality is clear and smooth, the wifi signal is strong despite my router being several feet away.
Rather frustratingly i have not had a single bird land on the feeder since i installed it on my garden fence post – so at this time i can not pass judgement on how well the AI recognition software works in relation to identifying different bird species.
In summary this is a very good product – yes it is expensive, perhaps a little too expensive for my liking as it really is just a wifi camera in a plastic bird feeder. There does not appear to be any specific bird cam hardware – most of it is AI requiring a subscription as mentioned above. One thing i do like about this product is that the camera has a built in Micro SD card slot which allows you to locally record video if you don’t want the AI or other subscription features.
I have to say i can’t wait for birds to start feeding on the device it will be great to be able to watch them close up enjoying their lunch!
A smart bird feeder with an installed 1080p camera and dual solar charging panels.
The bird feeder can take up to 2ltrs of bird food and can even recognise what birds visit the feeder via the camera. You can view these files and have the birds identified by paying for a cloud viewer, or install a micro SD card, which isn’t included, to just record and playback files and not identify the birds. Buy a book and identify them yourself.
You need to download the VicoHome App, which I already use, to view these files, and the camera can only be set up and installed via a 2.5Gb Wi-Fi connection, you will need to turn off your 5Gb connection if you have it, till it’s installed, then switch it back on again. You will need a strong Wi-Fi connection to access the camera, I will have to get a Wi-Fi booster, to put in the shed, to get a stronger signal. So be wary of where you position your feeder for the best Wi-Fi signal.
Although the instructions take you through the installation of the app and where to position the feeder for the best possible solar charging, it doesn’t take you through the menus on the app, this you have to figure out for yourself. Now it’s not difficult and pretty straightforward to tell the truth, especially if your used to these Wi-Fi cameras, but if you’re not, you may have some difficulty setting it up to how you want to use it.
Make sure that you place the camera in a sunny spot, otherwise you may find yourself having to recharge the camera manually with the supplied USB cable. Now in the UK, most of the autumn and winter months may not give you sufficient sunshine and won’t be able to fully recharge the feeder’s batteries via the solar panels, so you may still have to manually recharge the feeder. This could even be done with a power bank, tucked into the feeder.
This is a great device and gift idea, for any occasion, for the garden bird spotter, it’s just unfortunate that you can only have the birds identified if you pay for the cloud storage.
Our only visitor so far has been the local grey squirrel, it didn’t take him long to find it.
I’ll update with more, hopefully, bird pictures, as and when they visit.
I’m happy to recommend.
Update: had a robin and bluetit today, see photos.
GNCC smart bird feeder would make a great Christmas present for the bird lover in your life. Especially those who aren’t able to get out in the garden ay more due to mobility issues, like my old neighbour, he loves the birds but can’t see them from his window very well, and isn’t steady enough on his feet to get out in the garden, we have set this up, (which was super easy) and now he can watch them up close on a screen, we haven’t had many yet, but I am sure they will come with the right incentive. It’s a really nicely designed product and does just what you need it to do. I was hesitant at the price, but its worth every penny.
This camera bird feeder is very well made, good quality.
Very simple to set up. The app is pretty straightforward, connected to wifi from first go.
The image quality is briliant! Very clear! Even then night mode.
I haven’t had any customers as yet, but sure i will at some point.
Comes with the bracket and all fixings. But i used the strap included as didn’t want to drill any holes.
I have used 128gb memory card for the camera.
Highly recommended it!
Really impressed with the quality of the video not just close up range but long range too.
I have attached this to my back fence about 6ft in height and when the camera is not filming the locals in their restaurant ie the birds and pigeons it’d also showing my dog wandering around the garden.
Yesterday I was over 100 miles away, obviously husband was at home to let the dog in and out of the house yet i didn’t miss a single toilet break of the dogs.
Depending on where you place this it also doubles up as a security camera, 1 that no one would even suspect as being a camera as it just looks like a restaurant for birds, a posh feeding area.
I don’t mind the fact squirrels drop by but if they bother you it’s possible at a extra monthly charge through cloud storeage that you could scare away the squirels as the camera will identify the difference between squirresl and birds.
This really is quite spectacular, amazing rrp, fascinating to see who visits your garden, night time vision is amazing too, this would be a fantastic gift to any keen twitcher or for anyone with a interest in nature.
My only issue which is very trivial as it won’t affect my well deserved 5 stars is the bright orange plastic roof and feeding tray. ThIs could have been more aesthetic had it been made with a more camouflaged colour such as a fake wood or something less obviosu than bright orange but that is so trivial in the gran scheme of things as I am really impressed with this bird feeder /camera
This is not squirell proof as i found out as i sat watching a family queing up on my fence
We love the design of this bird feeder!
we love that we will be able to capture birds up close an personal with the built in camera.
The included solar panel is a big bonus so that we don’t have to worry about constantly changing batteries.
For the most part, it comes put together, but it comes with the tools you need to make the final touches, like attaching the perch and mounting it.
One thing it is missing is bird seed, but that is an inexpensive extra that can be purchased at any local pet store.
Overall, I’d say this is a great addition to any backyard, and the kids will love watching all the creatures the camera captures.
I am blown away with this Bird Feeder with Camera, its fantastic
Really simple to install, it comes with a thick strap to fix it into position
The feed capacity is a great size so you are not having to refill all the time
There are two solar panels on the roof which should hopefully mean the battery shouldn’t need to be manually charged which is super handy but unsure how this will withstand in the darker winter months
There is a species detection (with a paid subscription ) and claims to identify 11,000 species and gives you alerts when the birds are in shot
The camera is super crisp and clear and gives you fantastic shots of all the different birds that come to the feeder
Honestly super amazed with this, i have been watching it non stop and love to watch all the different types of birds coming into the garden
Would 100% recommend
I recently received this Smart Bird Feeder Camera, and I couldn’t be more pleased with my purchase. This innovative device has truly enhanced my bird-watching experience. The 1080P resolution ensures that I can observe our feathered friends in incredible detail, making it a joy to watch their behavior.
The dual solar panels are a game-changer, keeping the camera powered without the need for constant battery replacements. This is not only environmentally friendly but also incredibly convenient.
The AI bird species identification is a fantastic feature. It’s so exciting to receive notifications about which bird species have visited my feeder. The full-color night vision is another standout feature, allowing me to continue watching even after the sun goes down.
Setting up the camera was a breeze, and the mobile app is user-friendly, providing real-time footage and notifications. The build quality is durable and weather-resistant, which ensures it can withstand the elements.
In conclusion, the Smart Bird Feeder Camera has exceeded my expectations, offering remarkable video quality, solar-powered convenience, and intelligent bird species identification. I highly recommend it to any bird enthusiasts — it’s a fantastic addition to your bird-watching setup.
I was super pleased when I got this bird feeder to test. We have a Birch tree in our garden and very early in the morning we can hear the chirping of the birds. Kids are always eager to know what type of birds visit the tree but we never get a chance to record them or get a clear picture of them.
This feeder comes in a very nice box. Installation is super easy and I have installed it on our garden tree trunk. The feeder has very good capacity at 2L. The camera is easy to set up (installation video in the listing really helps). You can either store the videos or images in cloud (30 days free storage available) or you can insert a SD card (not provided). It supports upto 128GB SD card. I went with the cloud option. The images are of really good quality.
Please do note that this device only works with 2.4 GHz WiFi channel. I won’t mark it down as this is still standard for various smart devices such as video cameras and doorbells (even from well known brands). But it is important to know as you would need to configure 2.4 GHz channel on your router.
The product also comes with AI feature where it can identify the species of the bird, but you need to pay for this feature in the form of basic cloud subscription. I haven’t opted for this feature. Getting close up images and videos is good enough for my requirement.
The camera can be charged with a solar panel (provided) on the bird feeder. It comes with a deterrent which can deter squirrels automatically by siren or flashlight.
Overall this is a great product at good price (169.99 with 40 voucher while writing this review).
Hope you find this review helpful.
Smart bit of tech for my garden. I love to feed the birds and watch them with my little girl, and we have a walnut tree, so we see a fair amount of squirrels too.
Quite straight forward to set up, once I had downloaded the app and connected it to my Wi-Fi.
The feeder is a good size, and the bright blue roof and perch are really eye-catching.
You don’t have to insert a micro SD card, as the footage can be viewed live and stored in the cloud for up to 3 days, but I definitely think it’s easier to use one.
A USB C cable comes with the feeder, so you can charge it before use, but there are solar panels on the roof which will also charge it. If you can place the feeder in a sunny spot in your garden, I think this way is easiest and best.
You get the fixing bracket and screws included if you wanted to attach it to a fence/tree trunk etc or you do get a long black band that you can use to secure the feeder around something instead. I used this method, as I wanted the feeder positioned on a bush in a sunny area, near my other bird feeders. It worked OK, but I did add some additional string around the top, just to stop it tipping forward slightly and stop the seed spilling out.
I’m really impressed with the picture quality of the camera, and also the features on the app. You can speak through the camera, set off an alarm to scare off pests/people if needed, and the night vision is also very good. (see my photos)
You get notifications straight to your phone if the camera senses movement. I will just say, I had to change the camera sensitivity to the lowest setting, as it kept triggering due to the wind blowing the bushes nearby, but it was very easy to do.
Also, the bird recognition feature through the app is an additional monthly cost, not included with the camera when you buy it, which was a little disappointing.
Overall, I’m really pleased with it. It’s very interesting to watch, especially for kids, or if you just have a very large garden, and want to keep an eye on what’s happening, this brings the wildlife straight to your phone.
