amazing light bulb, perfect for any time of day and mood, with built in app control it really does have it all. govee have taken the cake with this product. 100% recommend, and the price really is a bit of a steal
I’m slowly replacing my Hue lights with Govee products. These bulbs weren’t very high on my list but I got curious to see if they could replace the main ceing light in a large room. The answer is yes! Stunning light and enough to light a whole room (25ft x 17ft).
Setup took about a minute in total.
As usual I have to give a mention to the excellent Govee app which has more features than I’ll ever use.

I recently tried out the Govee Smart Light Bulb and found it to be a convenient and enjoyable addition to my smart home setup. The initial setup process was a breeze, thanks to the user-friendly app. I appreciated the wide range of vibrant colors and pre-set scenes available, allowing me to create various atmospheres to suit my mood.
The app itself offers plenty of options to customize the lighting experience, giving users the flexibility to tailor the ambience to their preferences. The Govee Smart Light Bulb’s color accuracy and brightness were impressive, adding a lively touch to my living space.
However, I did encounter an issue with the light’s stability in maintaining a consistent connection to the Wi-Fi network. Occasionally, the light would lose its connection, requiring me to resort to using the wall switch or resetting the light’s connection. This proved to be an inconvenience, especially when I wanted to control the lighting remotely.
That being said, when the Govee Smart Light Bulb was functioning properly, it worked flawlessly and enhanced my home ambiance for the first few days. Despite the connectivity hiccup, I appreciated the versatility and ease of use that this smart light bulb offered.
Overall, the Govee Smart Light Bulb is a solid choice for those seeking a colorful and customizable lighting experience. Just be aware of the occasional connectivity issues that may arise.
This smart bulb have lots of colours to choose from. The app is easy to navigate and with an easy to navigate interface too.
It may just be me but I had difficulty connecting it to my echo devices or to alexa on my phone. I had other smart bulbs before and the alexa pairing was straight forward with them. I must be doing something wrong.
I would have loved to connect it to my echo devices but I am ok with controlling it on my phone for now. I will keep trying and see so troubleshootings in case I am doing things wrong.
I will update after I have tried other fix. For now, I give it 4 stars, maybe not because of the product but because of the way I am setting it up.
So I’ve used this brand before and I’ve always had a good level of trust that it would deliver.
I wasn’t disappointed, these bulbs are great and very easy to setup. People may wonder why 5Ghz and 6Ghz are included in the setup of these … it’s simple, 2.4Ghz allows a large distance and is likely to be cheaper as part of the manufacturing process like a lot of IoF products.
Anyway the lights can be controlled via the Govee app, allowing you to set scenes, run schedules, get the lights to be in tune with your music, the choice is great. I actually use them very simply and have them connected up to my Alexa setup (Google Home is available too), but ultimately if you do get them setup with any sort of home automation then your choices are limitless.
Would I purchase again, without a doubt and in a hearbeat, I’m a big fan of this brand and look forward to adding other products in future.
Smart Bulbs have such a versatile use in any room from their energy saving quality and features such as voice commands via Alexa or using the Goveehome app to control the level of light and even choosing colours. This pair of bulbs is incredible value for money, I have used similar ones around the home but this is the first set with RGB element to them and I am very impressed.
The Goveehome app is a fantastic way to control the lightbulbs from a smart device with minimal setup and all you really need to do is be near the bulbs with them switched on (from the mains) and having your home Wi Fi password. Once done, you can control the lights for their brightness, light style and even colours. Timers can be set to turn them on or off, perfect for that added touch with an early morning alarm. For me though, it was the compatibility with Alexa, meaning I now have voice command access to the lights as I do with the other bulbs in my home thanks to Govee, I can turn the lights on or off from any of my Alexa devices so before I even go to the room I can turn them on and if I forget to turn them off, I can do that from the Dot in my kitchen.
I could go on, but the versatility, range and energy saving offering is enough by themselves for this bundle of two smart bulbs to be easily recommended by me.

Just the plain illumination function is adjustable, brightness and warmth of colour.
Great fun and practical.
Slightly expensive, and not particularly energy efficient.
