Needed this to watch my mum with dementia it’s small so not horrible to look at we placed ours above the alarm sensors so just blend in it covers hallway and into front room the 2nd one again above alarm this one covers all the stairway and whole of top floor the quality of the footage really surprised us all . It’s installed using strong sticky pads already on unit making insulation so easy
This delicate camera was just thrown over our gate with no attempt to ring our obvious door bell, nor to put it through our outside letter box. Sheer laziness and just taking unprofessional short cuts! This has happened before and needs urgent management intervention!
The camera is a little bigger than the marketing pictures suggests but it’s not a huge difference. Operation is quite straight forward. You have to download an app to use this camera. I needed to link the camera to an e-mail address and then bind it to my phone using the QR code which is on a sticker on top of the device. It really was not very much hassle at all.
The pictures this provide are very clear and I would put the angle somewhere between 60 and 70 degrees so it will give good coverage if placed in the corner of a room. I haven’t fully tested the battery but it only dropped 5% across more than an hour of constant use whilst setting it up. The camera also record sound which can be controlled within the app. Motion sensing triggers video recording and this can be set up in a variety of ways including “human detection” where it only triggers when a person is in shot.
It has a card slot so that images can be saved to it rather than the cloud service that the manufacturers supply. The cloud storage will save your recordings on a rolling 3-day period so that you can only ever have 3 days’ worth of recordings saved. There is an option to pay to have this extended to 1 month.
All in all, this is a great little camera and would be really suitable for baby monitoring or watching the house whilst on holiday.
When installing the camera in the video would suggest that you have to press the on button for couple of seconds, but in my case it was a push on button, it left me a bit confused, but in the end it worked fine. I will definitely buy another camera for the hallway.
This is a nice little camera that comes in a good quality box, giving the impression of quality. Inside the box is another box that contains a mount for the camera, a micro usb card adapter and a usb charging cable. The instructions were fairly easy to follow and there is also a QR code to scan which takes you to a video of the set up.
I was surprised that the camera was larger than I expected as the picture of it between the ladies fingers is not to scale. (See pic of the camera held in my fingers). The actual size measurement is included in the description but I had only gone from the picture.
Once set up, the picture quality is very good and the app is OK. It is a bit clunky and nowhere near as slick as some other cheaper internal CCTV cameras I use.
My slight disappointment with this camera is that it needs to be connected to the wifi at the location in which it is being used. So it is only of use within the building to which you have it connected to wifi. This means it can’t really be used for one-off filming jobs at work or other locations – unless you have reset the camera and connected it to the wifi at that location.
I used it overnight to monitor my movement while asleep and it worked well, activating several times when I moved in the dark – giving good nighttime vision. I checked the battery status after it had been active for 9 hours (activating for movement) and the battery was still at 100% charge which is good.
You can access the camera remotely from your phone where-ever you are away from home. A decent little camera if you need the flexibility of repositioning it around your home without needing to have it connected to the power.
