I bought this to go with two other previous moose’s and worked perfect as the first two did . After 16 months I noticed the camera lenses was very fogged . Took it down cleaned it etc, still the same issue . I contacted customer services and within 6 hours I had a reply with some steps and to supply some information . They decided it was best to send me out a new replacement . This was all sorted within 12 hours. Customer service was fantastic with dealing with the complaint . Highly reccomend this company for there great products and first class customer service
I purchased the cctv camera to supplement my existing system.
The item meets all my expectations being easy to connect by WiFi.
The image is great and so far all is good.
It seems that it cannot be connected to an nvr.
The cameras were well packaged and very easy to set up on your WiFi. I needed a lan connected device as WiFi can be intermittent. I highly recommend these cameras. The quality is excellent and the options make them very versatile to operate remotely from my smart ‘phone.
I was so impressed I bought 2 of these cameras. Picture quality is awesome, motion detection and tracking is on the spot, perfect. Cameras are installed 200 miles away and I am instantly alerted, connected. The WiFi, connectivity is really impressive. Can’t fault anything here.
After installing this camera it has improved my families safety. The app is very easy to use by downloading the app from google play or alternative, scanning the qr code on the device and it picked it up straight away. No subscription required! It works well with both the wifi and lan options. I am now looking at other ieGeek products to add to the collection 🙂 Overall very impressed and I have already recommended it to others.
How good is the ieGeek 4mp 360deg security camera I’ve found that it’s a purfect for my use. There’s nothing I don’t like about the camera or its operation the clarity & colours are just great & love its features of all round motion controlled from my iphone / ipad the night vision picture is clear & crisp. The connection to my home hub was straight forward with no problems following the easy set up instructions. Would certainly recommend this product.
Excellent really good, does exactly what’s said on the product easy to use night vision impeccable. You can chose if you want alarms on and person detection, alarm is very loud and person detection is amazing I love how I can move it around and super impressed with its quality to ensure my property is protected at all times. Definitely would buy another one for my back garden really worth the buy especially with the low cost. No extra fees like a ring doorbell you just buy a SD card to save your data. If your wondering if the product is worth it I’d 100% say it’s worth every penny.
Got this to replace an old camera which connected by wireless to a dvr recorder the cameras would constantly disconnect and picture was awful. This camera took me five minutes to install as I already had a mounting box and power running to it. The camera isn’t heavy and looks neat. Connected to my mesh WiFi easily and so far is running well. It’s already been through some torrential rain with no problems. Picture quality is decent and night vision is far superior to previous camera. I like being able to use an sd memory card instead of cloud storage. Will give it a couple of weeks to see how it performs. If all goes well will purchase 2 more for back and side of house.
Reading the Amazon description online & also in the instruction manual it says you will need a memory card maximum capacity 512gb, so I purchased a 512gb memory card from Amazon, the memory card failed to work so I purchased a 2nd 512gb memory card from Amazon thinking that the 1st one was faulty, however the 2nd memory card failed to work also, so I contacted iegeek customer services and they told me it just needs to be formatted and told me what I should format it to so I did with both memory cards but still no luck, after doing a bit of research online numerous people were saying you only need a 32gb or a 64gb memory card, so I purchased a 3rd memory card (64gb) and it worked fine with no problems, the first 2 memory cards were about 18 each so I spent more on memory cards than I did the actual camera!? Other than that I am happy with the camera
Poorly designed.
6MP Wired.
As mentioned, the quality is very good, however, the design of the cable is quite poor.
I purchased the wired camera with a plan of putting the cable through a window (as I imagine most would do). I wanted the wired for continuous recording, as I believe the solar and battery options only record when they detect motion, however, the cable coming from the camera is very short, around 40cm and as the connections are not waterproof, so they’ll have to be sheltered or inside the window. The cable also comes out of the bottom of the housing (so you’ll have to put it above a window, rather than below one), so you’re very limited to where you can fit it, without a quite major hole drilling through your exterior wall.
The power lead is also only 2M long, meaning your plug has to be very close to your window (if not using an extension).
The app – Although it connects quickly, moving the image around can be frustrating, as you can hold the button to pan or zoom and have to keep tapping it to make a movement.
All in all, worth getting if you want a good image and but have the perfect position and setup for it.
I’ve been researching getting a new security camera with PTZ function along with colour night vision for a few weeks.
Looked at so many reviews for camera’s with roughly same functions and decided this one fits all the boxes.
Couldn’t have made a better choice,
Easy to set up,takes 2 mins to sort,
And 10 mins to install.
Picture quality is fantastic day and nightand all for under 35.
The app you use is great too, just sign up and add each camera.
I’ve seen CCTV cameras for alot more and don’t seem as good,
Looking to add one or 2 more to my home soon and will definitely be buying these again.
I absolutely like the ieGeek 4MP 360 Outdoor Security Camera. The camera is well-made and has amazing picture/video quality. Since it’s a 4MP camera, you can zoom to a reasonable extent without sacrificing many details. The good thing is that it’s PTZ (Pan, Tilt, and Zoom), allowing you to rotate the camera in almost every direction you like.
You can connect this camera either via a LAN cable and plug it into a DVR or just pop in a micro SD card, connect the power adapter, and configure it with your Wi-Fi. The second method is simple and cost-effective. You don’t need a DVR; just install multiple cameras and link them to your ieGeek account, and you can access them from anywhere. Since these cameras support micro SD cards, you don’t have to buy cloud storage. You can view the recordings from anywhere via the internet. Isn’t it a cool feature?
I’ve been using it for a week now and am quite satisfied with the purchase. I have even compared the image quality of this camera with traditional CCTV cameras and reached the conclusion that this camera is better for various reasons.
I have managed to add this camera to my qnap surveillance station app using onvif. To enable onvif you need to install iegeek camera app and enable onvif option. You can then manage it via onvif manager software. However I am unable to use the ptz manual controls via qnap app. No idea why. The camera works well and has decent night vision and infra red. The resolution is nice and crisp and colour night vision is decent. Once I can get ptz manual controls working il add another star.
I hardly ever write reviews, only when I hope it will help other Amazon buyers.
This camera is absolutely great. The hardware, picture quality, features; all brilliant. However, if you intend to use this camera in your existing NVR set up (eg. Synology Surveillance Station etc) using the ONVIF protocol, then forget it. This camera doesn’t use the standard ONVIF protocols from what I can gather. There was no flash firmware updates available for it and their support page not brilliant either. Even if the brand is not listed in Synology, almost every camera I have ever used works with Generic ONVIF, this camera did not 🙁
I probed the camera with ODB (ONVIF Device Manager) to see what rtsp:// streams I could use and there was only one, and the path changed every refresh (must be some ieGeek security feature??) so was not suitable for a NVR.
It’s such a shame to return them (I bought two) because other than ONVIF issues, these cameras are brilliant and I would have given 5 stars. In short, if you don’t need ONVIF, then this camera is brilliant.
Hope this helps other buyers out there.
The publicised ONVIF/RTSP settings didn’t work eithe
Bought this to replace an older non PTZ Iegeek camera (that still worked fine). This one is in a different league, so easy to set up first time right out of the box and doesn’t drop the wifi signal. The picture is crisp the video smooth and its nice to have the zoom and pan features. The app is very clear and easy to navigate, and simple to download footage. The camera feels a quality product and produces great results, get one.
This is the third camera I have bought by this manufacturer. Couldn’t fault the last two they work great. This one is a clear upgrade and has some further upgrades with the zoom and new software. It works great and I h e swapped this one out for the front of house one as it’s just that bit better. Moved my other one to the side of the house. They are good quality cameras at very reasonable prices. Easy to install with some basic knowledge and the use of the phone software is simple and easy to use. Really worth the money. Recommend the max SD as this device easily records events upto a month then.
I previously bought an I GEEK battery powered out door camera. I just love it. Long lasting battery and clarity of the image, everything was immaculate. But it was only covering my kitchen back door and the patio. I was looking for a camera which can cover the whole 360, rather than having another camera installed.
Soon as I saw this new range on I GEEK. I knew this will do the job. As I believed, this camera didn’t let me down at all. This camera has a really good wide angle to start with. So it already covered my kitchen back door, patio & some of my garden. Then I was able turn the camera anywhere I want using the app. This actually helped us keep an eye on our Summer house and on our bunnies when they’re roaming around the garden.
This single camera has truly helped us to keep an eye on our whole back of the house. The camera App is so user friendly and straightforward. This camera definitely has a good 2.4 GHz receiver because this is actually fixed quite far away from my router and still receives good signal.
The video quality and the clarity is absolutely amazing during day time even at night time. The other best part of this camera is, it has good zoom lens. I inserted a 128gb micro SD card in to store any detection. I have the set the timer on the app, therefore the detection sensors will only get activated at night time. overall this camera is a bargain for its price. If you are looking for a security camera for a reasonable price but does the best job, then this is the camera for you!!
I would definitely recommend this camera. Thanks to I GEEK.
Easy to install and set up apart from power cable being short – solved by buying an extension cable. Picture quality is fantastic. LAN connection cable seems unnecessary when camera operates on wifi but blanked off the LAN socket. For the money, this camera is remarkable value.
The new ie geek app seems to have more functionality than the old one (which I use with an older ie geek camera). it would be nice if I am able to add both cameras to the same app, but, even if this is not possible, the 2 cameras give great coverage of my property and can only increase security.
The ieGeek 4MP Camera is excellent and I have a few cameras including the blink system it is very easy to set up and great value for money compared to some systems.
This is my second ieGeek camera having bought one back in June, I was so impressed I bought a second and I am not disappointed.
I bought this primarily for the auto tracking which works great I may add and the night vision which can work in colour. This is in my garden at a distance of about 7 meters from the router and picks up the wifi no problem overall highly recommended.
Having used other ieGeek products, when it came time to look for a security camera for the front of my house, I was pleased to find this latest addition to their outdoor camera models. It is slightly smaller than other models so a bit more discrete. Very easy to install as usual, and connects to your WiFi quickly. The camera itself needs little setup, and has the usual controls for a Pan & Tilt system. The automatic tracking feature means no activity is missed. Very good quality image is captured with either Screenshot or Record. The night vision is clear, and having the additional spotlight feature that can activate automatically means that at night you can get very clear images captured.
I would definitely recommend this camera.
I already have 4 other cameras from this brand, but this new one has the 360 swivel function. This new camera has improved image quality, it allows zooming and barely loses quality. You can configure the recordings when detecting sound, movement or human detection, combine these with each other or all at once. The camera has very good Wi-Fi signal, being at the garage at the other end of our house it still receives a good signal. For the recordings I use a micro SD card, but there is also the brand’s own cloud service.
Only negatives:
– This camera works with a new app called “ieGeek Security”, the other cameras I have work with “ieGeek Cam”. I would have preferred to be able to view all the cameras in a single app.
– In future I would choose one in Black as opposed to White as they are less obvious to see against a dark background.
Based on a few weeks of ownership. This is a good value camera that provides good quality video and pictures. However setting it up is far from straightforward and a lot of patience is needed. The PC based software (HiP2P) client is needed to set the camera up, and although most functions are mirrored on the PC and App there are some are not. Once set up, I suggest using the App first and HiP2P client software second. The email support from iegeek was very good and it needed to be with the various anomalies I needed help with. The camera does come with a manual but its content is average at best. Some things not in the manual : Where the SD card is fitted ? The manual does not refer to removing a cover on the camera in order to fit the card and even then you have to look carefully to find the slot. The SD card needs to be formatted on your computer for the first time before you camera power on otherwise the sd card won’t recording videos. The advised HiP2P software is not specific to iegeek so when looking at parameter settings some of them are ineffective. For example the alarm recording setting is fixed at 14 seconds, regardless of what time is entered in the options box. Another anomlay is on the App video quality is a straight choice of SD or HD, on the PC it is more complex. But setting the detection areas and sensitivity is better on the PC. The unit itself has 4 screw mounting holes but the camera housing obscures the bottom two restricting use of a screw driver to fit mounting screws ?? Mine is mounted just using the top two.
I have tried the two recording options of pre plan and alarm event. After trying the later, I have gone back to having it record all the time. Alarm event recordings were being triggered by birds flying across the field of view during the day and insects at night attracted to the IR lamps. I made changes to the sensitivity and also the areas of detection that reduced the number of false alarms events but not down to what I considered a reasonable level. So I never set up the external audible alarm function to avoid disturbing my neighbours. Note (1):- HiP2P gives more options for selecting detection zones within the field of view can than the App. Note(2) The auto tracking function is called “smart moto” in the PC softwear and “intelligent view” in the App software. Note(3) if you want to set up a default position for the PTZ to return to from auto tracking, it can only be set on the App and then it will not remember the zoom position.
Overall the camera is now working ok with good video recording quality and auto tracking with certain selected zones and sensitivity settings within the field of view. I have not activated the audible alarm function as it still generates too many false ones. It also still has regular unexplained software issues such as the clock time changing and it forgetting its default position. I have an open mind as to its longevity.
I bought this camera a year ago largely because of the reasonable price and good user reviews but only got round to putting it up in November 2019.
Positives
1. Build quality seems good. Compact and solid
2. Picture quality is good especially on the HD setting
3. Power supply has a long lead (3m) so no extension cable required
Negatives
1. Despite the IP67 rating, my camera let in water to the extent that it stopped working. Water behind the lens and in the SD card slot (see photos). Maybe I put it up in a too exposed position. So my advice is try and install it somewhere that is a bit sheltered e.g. under eaves.
2. The reset switch and power cable connector need to be housed in a dry place e.g. a waterproof connection box. (A waterproof connector is supplied for the Ethernet cable)
3. PC Software Hip2P is quite slow and clunky and not very intuitive to set up. Later versions of the software are a bit better. They can be found on the Iegeek or IPcam websites. The mobile phone software is a bit easier but is more limited.
4. There is no option for secure encryption (like most cheaper webcams). This will make the camera easier to hack.
5. There is a customer service email address, but I got no response when my camera failed.
Conclusion
Installing and connecting up an IP camera can be quite a time consuming business, so my advice is don’t waste your time – avoid this camera and spend a bit more on something more reliable. I’ve had my Foscam camera out in all weathers for several years without problem…
Follow Up – 4 February 2021
=====================
I got round to taking down my failed iegeek security camera today. Opened the SD slot and orange coloured water dribbled out. It looked like my Sandisk Extreme Pro 128Gb SD card was trashed – stained with the orange gunge – but it dried out and cleaned up and is working fine in my new camera (an Ezviz).
Recordings on the card showed that the camera worked OK for a total of 10 days until it got too wet. So the moral of the story is don’t assume that an IP camera is OK just because it works fine out the box. Put it up outside in the rain. Then at least you can get your money back if it fails straight away as a result of water damage. Interestingly I could not find an IP67 rating anywhere on the packaging or camera despite this waterproof rating being advertised.
Update 12 March 2021
=================
Customer support reached out to me following this review. Looks like the email address I wrote to was the wrong one which explains why they didn’t reply to my previous emails. They advise that they have resolved the security problems that were around a couple of years back and this model is no longer at risk of hacking. It is still a good idea however to change the default user name/password from admin/admin to something unique.
Failure caused by water penetration does not appear to be a common problem with this camera judging by the reviews on Amazon, so maybe I was just unlucky. As a gesture of goodwill, Iegeek have offered to refund me or replace the camera despite it being out of warranty. So given all that, I have changed my review rating to positive.
