I bought this to tone up and it works.
I use twice a day for 20mins, you have to get used to the noise but if you have subtitles on you’re fine

Really good workout tool, definitely helps tone the mid section, your thighs and glutes and weirdly your arms. I’m using as part of a larger workout routine so not sure of its effect just on its own.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI wanted something to try to help with the stubborn fat on my stomach. Not sure how effective it will be in the long term as only been using it for a couple of weeks. It’s really easy to use as long as you can hula hoop but is a bit boring to do, so best to listen to music whilst doing it. I feel there’s been an improvement and it’s a good way to do some exercise in your own home

Really good hula hoop well made and delivered fast.
I wish i could make contact as the weighted ball on hala hoop a bit heavy for me, as recovering from surgery and not exercised for a long time. Anyone know how to get a lighter ball weight that will work.

      Really love this

Lost the knack to hoola hoop so this is an excellent way to relearn the movement

It’s small enough to use indoors whilst watching tv

Easy to take on and off /adjust

It’s quite clickety clackerty but doesn’t bother me as I’m have fun doing somthing I thought I could no longer do

It’s a great tool for exercise as well as relearning or learning a skill you thought lost or could never do

      Fun for all ages

All my friends and family are quite impressed with this bit of kit

Gets a big fat YES from me

Like you can add or remove links so other people can use it or when you’ve lost or put on weight. You definitely need alot of room in order to spin the weighted ball. Just remember you can shorten the length of the weighted ball if you are struggling to keep it spinning. It is a bit of hard work to keep the momentum going but definitely doable.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI bought this product in Black/Gold whilst it was on sale at 13.99 after several months of umming and ahhing as to whether I should get one or not. At 13.99 I thought I was getting myself a good bargain considering the price on some of them out there. The husband voiced “Urgh, another thing to go in the cupboard and never come out again”

The Smart hoop arrived and I was very excited to try it, I was very apprehensive about the set up, its basically just plastic and I’m rather clumsy at assembling anything but I can assure you the plastic is very dureable and I was able to set it all up and have a quick go which went better than anticipated.

The hoops comes complete with 27 links in total but as a UK 22 woman I was perfectly fine with 23 (24 to have it a bit looser). The ball is already weighted so no need to faff around with finding sand, and it comes with a clip to attach it onto the string and appears sturdy.

I plugged in some earpods, chucked on some fast upbeat music and was on my way. I have literally zero rhythm but I manged to keep this thing up for a couple of minutes before restarting again, I’ll take that.

Do I think this will result in weight loss? Absolutely! When coupled with calorie counting, daily steps and 15-30 minutes of this you must shed something? I got a sweat on after 15 minutes of stop starting, hopping from one foot to the other in a bounce motion almost, so its definitely giving you a work out.

I do plan on updating in a month or so provide a true report as to whether this can aid weight loss.

I can’t comment on weight loss or removing links as I’ve only tried it a few times, and so has my husband(!) but we’re impressed with the design, ease of use and quality
I like how you can adjust it to fit snuggly and when I wear it there are 5 spare links
It came really quickly and it was on offer!
      For the win!
Its not as noisy as I was expecting from reviews, its just right
The weight is soft and like sand inside
      Love the mint colour, personally
I can see us both using this for a little go, quite ofte

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis arrived quickly and was on offer so very pleased with it! I have been using this for 30 minutes every day for the last 4 days and I really enjoy it. Once you get the momentum it is very easy to do. Side to side, back and forth. Comes with 27 links, I’ve started with 19 links. Hope to drop a link in a couple of weeks. That’s the good stuff. One downside to this is, it’s VERY noisy! If it were quiet or quieter it would be perfect. Best to listen to music with earphones. Otherwise, a nice way to raise your heartbeat and fingers crossed, loose some weight 🙂

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersI’d heard that hula-hooping was good for your mid-section, but I’ve never really got the hang of it, so when I saw this, I was intrigued… It’s a well made, well thought-out piece of kit, that really puts you through your paces in the same way as a hula hoop, but is actually do-able! I’ve built up to around 15 minutes each way now, and can feel some firming up (the adjustable links are a good guide to whether it’s working – if it’s getting loose and you need to remove links to keep it snug around your waist, then it’s working!). I would only make one slight caveat – just make sure that you’re wearing a T-shirt or gym vest underneath it, since prolonged use against bare flesh (in my experience, at least), can lead to some fairly marked chafing, as the articulated links open and close slightly as the ball flies around, leading to repeated minor nipping and rubbing of your skin – just wear a layer underneath and you should be fine, though. It’s a fun piece of kit, to add some variety to your exercise routine (both muscle toning and CV – I used it with a pulse rate monitor on and it kept me ‘in the zone!’), and is quite a talking point amongst family and friends – the kind of thing people just want to pick up and try – you may want to buy two!

Golden Review Award: 12 From Our UsersBought this and I absolutely love it. I think the best thing I can say is that I let a friend have a go with it and she bought herself one within 10 minutes of trying it. It is easy to assemble, once you ‘get’ that it just clicks and then making it bigger or smaller is dead easy. When changing the size, just hold it to prevent the weight holder coming out of the hoop. The same with the actual hula hooping, once you get going, you’re away. I’ve been using reguarly and you do need a bit of space because the weight swings out, but it’s brilliant fun. I know one review said the weight came off, but I think you could easily add a cable tie for extra security if you wanted to, but I’ve had no issues with regular use of mine. Plan to incorporate it into our big fund raising push next year somehow. I wasn’t too sure when I got it, but it’s fun and it makes me happy when I use i

Golden Review Award: 48 From Our UsersThe product appears pretty sturdy and was easy to put together. The extra links was useful as I needed a couple to get it to fit me. As a size 16 (UK) lady, there’s a bit of chub to encompass, but I was pleased I still had a couple of links spare after adding some to get it to do up.

I’m someone who is hopeless at hula hooping, so I thought this would be a good way to get some basic core exercise into my daily routine. There were very basic instructions on how to assemble, but no instructions on how to use. The first attempt was a disaster.

Luckily there is a YouTube video for pretty much anything and after a few false starts, I was away.

But, oh my word though it is so noisy. It’s like someone rattling a plastic sippy cup across playpen bars. Not something you can do at 5am without waking up half the household (plus the cat hates it).

However, noise aside, once you get going it is quite fun, although make sure you’re well away from little people, breakables, chairs and so on, because that swinging ball will take anything out.

I’m still enjoying it and I’m hoping that it’ll trim the middle bit of me down a bit over the next couple of week.

Golden Review Award: 13 From Our UsersEasy to use once you’ve got it together, but difficult to adjust the sections if you’re sharing it with someone who is a different size to you! Found it hard to get the sections out. Quite noisy, but I’m still able to hear music or podcast over it. Not exactly like hula hooping – no need to constantly bend over and pick up the dropped hoop, obviously – but also not quite the same hip movement required I found. This is more subtle, plus you don’t need to concentrate quite as much, once you’re sure you’ve got the required clearance for the ball. Still get a work out though. Remains to be seen if it removes some inches from the waistline, but it does help work the core.

Golden Review Award: 26 From Our UsersUPDATE: So I”ve very quickly mastered the art of the regular hula hoop motion. I found that if I push it down so it sits just on top of my hips and keep my hands resting on my hips so that they are just above the hula hoop,
(which also helps keep it in place) then I can keep the ball moving in what I feel is a more comfortable and regular hula hoop motion. It’s also more fun this way.

Ok Ive omly used this twice so far and it takes some getting used to. I’ve managed to keep it going for quite a few minutes by putting one foot infront of the other and basically using a rocking forwards amd backwards motion. Now I don’t recall using a regular hula hoop this way, I think there is a lot more body movement doing it with a regular one so it remains to be seen if this actually works in reducing my stomach. If anyone has managed to use it with a regular hula hoop action I’d be pleased to know. Maybe it just takes practice.
I should add the rubber massage bits are in fact hard plastic, one of which was broken when i received it. Not a problem as I don’t need them all but annoying all the same.

Golden Review Award: 57 From Our Users10 DAY FINAL UPDATE
      UPDATE AT BOTTOM

So throw out everything you know about hula hooping. It’s easy to assemble, comfortable to wear. I was quite pleased I think my highest score was 8. I did do for 30 mins but kept stopping & starting. So im a size 24 & used all the links but I have ordered more. The ring has got to be level which can only happen if I have it high if I have it low it keeps going lop sided so I’m hoping the extra links will place lower on to my hips & I should get a better rhythm. I went on YouTube to watch others for a better rhythm. You definitely need a lot of space around you. I thought I had enough which I didnt so shortened the rope which apparently makes it harder. The bag is already weighted & I would say its heavy. enough. The leaflet recommends 30mins 5 days a week to see benefits. I’m counting my quick swing every 5 count as a win. It isn’t quiet but then I wasn’t expecting it to be but its not overly loud me punching the punch bag is louder. Nobody downstairs heard it just me cursing at it. Its not going to be a miracle piece of equipment but hopefully it will help alongside every else. I have measured and we will see what happens. So day 2 I’ve had a wiggle with the hoop to try and get it level which I managed & it’s defo a bonus I did fairly easily 10 rotations until it went wonky again. Some ppl say it hurts them but I don’t feel anything. At the end of the day if ya have to keep swinginh after every 3 rotation for 30mins I’m sure it can be included in the excerise routine.
      Update
So for 3 days I been stop start swinging until my extension pieces arrived. So I tried with 1 extra & then a second but no joy and then I had a think…….. I removed the 2 extensions and a 3rd piece making it smaller instead and as you can see I did good after 22 attempts i done 32 revoloutions. As you can see in the video it is not on my hips its above my belly I know wrong place but it sat level and as you will see I got that ball to swing. It definitely has to be level & tight. Being tight I felt every spring, still didn’t hurt & no bruising. Movement – I’ve seen 2 ways the one I got working is a very small, slow wiggle side to side. The other is slow again with a gentle rocking forward & backwards. Like I said at the very beginning throw out all your hula hooping knowledge you are not doing big hip swivels. It is doing something with my knees I can see and feel a difference in a good way and same for my thighs I’m very happily surprised. Time will tell if having the hoop higher will make a difference. It is definitely something that takes a lot of practice its not like jumping on an exercise bike and go. I hope my review helps and if it does start doing something il be back.
      SO
it’s been 10days I’m managing 10mins non stop it is easy once you find your stance and rhythm. I’m finding it’s working out my ankles. Calves, knees, thighs front & back, bottom, hips and lower back sorry I don’t know all the technical jargon lol the bit your waiting for ……….. -3lb & -1inch waist in 10days. It doesn’t sound a lot but I’ve been on diets most of my life & have never got my waist to shrink. I was ill last year and lost all my calf muscles & already I’m seeing a difference & my chunky knees are changing too. I was a skeptic at first & I do try any new gimmick going but have to say out of all the diet pills, patches, magic earrings, bracelets, waist bands etc this is showing it is working. So remember if you get one don’t give up with i
