I have bought this little Lego pig as a Christmas present, I can’t express how much joy this brought to the receiver. If someone loves piglets like the receiver does, then highly recommend it, good quality of blocks too
I didn’t realise how hard this would be and how small the bricks would be took 2 adults and a child a good couple of hours to complete but it was worth it in the end and looks great!
The model, once built is really good and makes people double take if it’s a tiny dog or not on first glance. I bought the Retriever, in case that is relevant.
I’d originally bought it for my child, but the instructions are very complicated and there was no way they’d be able to build it so I needed to. This brings me to another problem… An adult trying to build with blocks this small requires loads of dexterity, and I don’t even have particularly large hands.
The instructions lay out large numbers of blocks in one layer and then show another layer above it with ‘locating marks’ between the 2. It is very easy to make mistakes and can take a while to notice and then ages to unpick back to the point the error was made.
If/when you finally get it finished then the result is just about worth the hours of patience and concentration it has taken though. 😉
This is definite not for younger kids, a lot of patience is needed as the instructions aren’t easy and the pieces can be fiddle to stick together.
But once done the item looks very nice. Took me 2 days to do (whilst doing other bits around the house) but cheaper then lego and was brought to help me deal with my stress and anxiety which did helps as it clears your mind as your focus on the job at hand.
Definitely get another set once I done my Christmas lego presents
Got this and I have to say would look good If you could use the instructions to build it. Instructions don’t give you any help and you don’t know where the blocks click in. The blue lines on the instructions hide what block to use. I think clear instructions brick by brick would be better like Lego.
But ….I did it !!!!
And now I’m.glad I did ..
I bought this for my husband BECAUSE of the reviews regarding poor instructions, fiddly pieces etc as I thought he would enjoy the challenge. I wasn’t wrong! He’s pretty good at this kind of thing amd completed the build in a few hours. It was a challenge but one that he enjoyed. He’ll be getting a different model for father’s day.
Excellent quality and well packaged. There are no written instructions as with all the brands of micro blocks I have purchased. The pictures instructions are clear, you just have to take your time & ensure you follow them correctly. Really enjoyed building it & the end result looks so good.
Bought this for my older brothers birthday as he loves to create things. This is his first build project and although the instructions were hard to follow at first, it got easier as you got used to them
I can’t believe he built this in only 4 days! He was so so chuffed with it. Definitely recommend for anyone who likes Lego as it’s cheaper than many of the official Lego sets but still really fun to build. I also had a go and I found it quit therapeutic!
I didn’t think people could leave bad reviews for something being difficult so I bought it to prove them wrong. However, I will admit the pieces are tiny, the instructions take a lot of reading before understanding and I restarted this thing 4 times. But all in all I really enjoyed it. The difficulty only made it more satisfying to finish. Really happy with it and deffo going to buy some others. I will say though make sure you have a lot of time on your hands
My 12 year old niece absolutely loves these lego animals. I’ve bought four for her now and she loves them. She loves lego and also intricate and pretty things. So I saw this and thought it might be something she’d like – though was concerned the pieces might be too small and she might find it too tedious and boring. Not at all. She loved it and so I’ve now bought four. She seems to do them within 1-2 days and loves them. It’s certainly not like regular lego in the sense you do need patience and time. But I think that’s ideal for an older child, like her age, who is fine with something a bit more challenging and something to be proud of and put on display when finished. Highly recommend.
Personally, I got this on my 12th birthday and it was a great gift. I have yet to finished the “lego” but it has kept me well entertained. Delivery was speedy and as promised. The instructions are a tad hard to read but this has helped enhance concentration during this building experience. I am sure that the result will look amazing.
I bought this as a valentines gift for my nine-year-old son. To be fair, it says 14+ on the instructions and, in fact, it is one of the trickiest puzzles or builds I’ve ever done. Yes I said I, as after everyone else in the family had given up, I completed it myself! The ‘instructions’ are quite tricky to get a grip on, and the very first one is possibly the hardest bit of the whole build, but once you understand how they work, it’s fairly straightforward. I thoroughly enjoyed building this and will be looking for another to do!
Bought as a present for an avid fan of huskies and lego! Kept him occupied for a good day through lockdown. Thought that the final build would be somewhat larger (may have to get a rescue next time instead)
This product’s bricks are TINY, as are the instruction pictures. The combination makes it incredibly tricky to build and not really suitable for a child alone.
It makes you appreciate Lego – the instructions are complex, and you have hold bricks in thin air before attaching the next layer at times. They really are tricky to follow. Lots of taking it apart and starting the section again. Luckily the tool provided is effective to help do this.
That said, once you are up and running things get a bit easier!
We also found several mistakes in the instructions, (numbers of bricks required etc) and didn’t have the right number at the end for the final builds, but were able to steal other pieces to make it sort of work. Also one of the bigger pieces isn’t moulded correctly so won’t join at all. And there wasn’t a spare.
But… we do have a lovely golden retriever model at the end of it, and as my son is a dog lover we are happy (but exhausted and eyes aching). We would buy it again I think when we have recharged our energy levels and patience if they do a chocolate Labrador… Hint hint.
