These varnishes don’t come labeled with their numbers even though other sets from this brand I have received are. I have done my best number them myself but some of the reds were best guess.
The varnishes themselves are nice and easy to apply, perhaps a little thick so don’t overload your brush!
The manicure tends to last me around a week before chipping starts but I’m still learning how to apply them properly (I also have a manual job that doesn’t help!)
Great selection of colours and the Matte and shiny gloss make a huge difference and another element of the colours. I would say the colour bottles are smaller than I thought but this is a good set for the price and the amount of colours you get 🙂
Great polish, easy to apply, be light handed though as it can be quite thick so wipe a lot of excess of and Do a thin layer, cure it then repeat until desired colour payoff!
I use a uv led lamp to cure it. Nice and smooth!
I’ve made my way through nearly all the colours, but currently obsessed with the grey as seen in the picture I provided. This manicure was done about 5 days ago and hasn’t chipped or peeled, and still look as fresh as the day I applied them!
For the price these polishes are amazing, highly recommend.
Great starter set for home gel manicures with the perfect range of colours. I would say that they don’t last more than 3-4 days on the fingers as the edges start to peel and they come off probably too easily, but the plus side is that they don’t damage your nail and it’s probably my novice nail painting! I also have a toddler so the constant bath times and washing up might have something to do with it, but in comparison to my gel toes which I get done professionally and normally last 4 weeks, this gel polish isn’t the same quality, but good nevertheless!
Great product, good quality varnish. Bought along with uv lamp for personal use.
Only down side is , I didn’t appreciate how difficult gel varnish is to remove and damage to nails , so whilst they look beautiful when done , I’ve not used as often as I thought. However for those in the know , this is a great product and I expect would be a welcome treat/ gift.
It’s been 9 days and I did one hand with primer bond not with kit and the other hand with just what came with this. The left hand (with bond) still going strong and the right hand (no bond) has chipped which is to be expected. So you’ll get a full week with just their base coat 🙂
These are perfect for student nail techs. I just wanted a set with a variety of colours so I could practice and do nail art. They apply really nicely. Some you do need 3-4 coats and then the others you just need 1-2 coats. I’m pretty sure the grey I just did one but would do 2 coats on a clients nails.
I’m sure I have a LED lamp but these needed to stay in for 90seconds. The black began to ripple on the edge so I thought maybe it was in for too long so I did it less on the second coat but didn’t ‘cure’ until I left it for 90seconds. So I’m unsure about that.
The top coat isn’t sticky after it’s cured but I still wipe just incase 🙂
I can’t give my opinion on longevity just yet as I haven’t tried it on my nails but I will edit this review when I have worn them.
You will be more than just a base coat to prep your nails for it to last as long as it does at a salon. Base coat is used AFTER the prep.
I’m a beginner to gel polish and am finding this set really easy to learn. Some really great colours, and I love the option to have shiny or matte. My only issue is the removal process. I’ve found it very difficult to remove when I actually want to. I bought 100% Acetone, and always buff off the top coat but I usually end up using a file to get the polish off as I don’t have an hour+ to soak to off. Maybe I’m doing something wrong though. Overall though I’d buy again.
I’ve hung on to review these so I could properly test out the colours and their longevity. Having changed my nails 3 times now I feel I can give an honest review.
If you use them correctly and apply thin coats they are fab and last up to 2 weeks. There has been an odd peel and I’m a picker so I made that happen, not down to the polish. I’ve also used them with water decals and the top coat doesn’t remove the patterns on the decal unlike some regular top coats I’ve used previously. The wide range of colours are vibrant and I haven’t found them thick at all.
The only thing I will suggest is that you remove them correctly. Buff as much of the colour off as possible before soaking. I was impatient and now I’ll have to put up with damaged nails as a result. Lesson learned.
I will be purchasing other sets in the same range so I definitely recommend.
I love the colours in this set and have used most of them. It took me a while to get used to them, because they’re quite thick. Particularly the white I found to be really thick and sticky, quite difficult to work with. However, I am quite new to shellac so I appreciate my lack of skills doesn’t help.
The colours are lovely and stay vibrant on your nails for days. I do experience peeling, especially if I’ve not prepped the nail beforehand, but this could be down the base or top coat I use, I don’t know.
Overall, pretty colours, good value, not a pro set but good to practice with.
So I got this when it was on offer and this is the best decision I’ve made! This kit comes in a lovely box and could be ideal to gift. There are so many colours to choose from, so given the sun’s finally out I went with a bright colour, but looking forward to using the grey, black and two of the pinks, coral and burgundy!
I tried it as soon as it arrived and it was super easy and quick. It was very easy to apply, the bottles are small so the brush isn’t massive, which I like as I feel I have better control over the application. I love that you’re done so quickly and can get on with doing manual tasks straight away, rather than touch everything delicately in case of leaving a mark. I used to do it in the evening and leave a few hours till bed time and still managed to get prints on my nails in the morning, I think now I can safely say this is a thing of the past.
I had to purchase a UV lamp to cure the gel polish (LKE UV nail lamp) and the whole process was done in 15min.
1- Apply a layer of the base gel and cure for 60sec.
2- Apply a layer of colour (I only needed one with the turquoise so I don’t know if it’s the same with the rest) and cure for 60sec.
Both these stages made the polish feel a bit tacky to the touch, like nearly dry polish so I did 2x 60sec curing just to be sure but it was still tacky. Just trust the process.
3- apply the top coat and cure. Again I did 2x 60sec and the finish came out shiny and smooth just like in the salon. It tingles slightly if you put some on your skin around the nails so try and be careful when you apply but anything left on the skin comes off easily.
Honestly it’s a game changer for me, no more removing polish after only a couple of days because it peels off or polish that has pillow marks all over it, this looks shiny and professional, super happy with it!
Great for beginners the colours are a really nice starter set. The polishes are really nice and opaque after 2 coats, even the pale colours. The top coat cured really well, no stickiness at all, and it’s a good consistency to smooth the finish without becoming thick and gummy.
Only down side was my top coat came spilled so it was quite the hassle cleaning up after it. It would of been nice to be able to put it back in the display case but nevermind…
Tip for use, give the coloured layer a few seconds to level before you cure it because the coloured polish pools at the the edge of the brush.
Over all a good purchase for the price. Would of loved to give 5 stars but I was very annoyed by the spiled top coat.
I am ridiculously impressed with this product – for the price, it’s amazing. It was delivered very well packaged & protected, the outer box is sturdy and pretty. Inside the box the varnishes are securely held in a foam setting. Despite what some reviewers have said, I checked every one of the colours and found the inside to be a true match to the outside. The bottles are small but this is an advantage, as the smaller brush allows you to get right up to the nail fold without touching the skin. The application process was really easy – prep your nails, one thin coat of base, two thin coats of colour then top coat (cure each coat separately). No wiping in between. The buff colour as you can see in the photo isn’t streaky, is very shiny & is better than much more expensive brands I’ve tried in the past. I’m a total convert to Lavender Violets now & will definitely be buying more shade ranges. Excellent product, really can’t fault it!
I love that the bottles represent their colour, I’ve had uv nail varnishes before that come in a black bottle with a number to reference the shade and I was forever opening them to see which colour they were.
There is a good selection of colours, perfect for summer and winter.
When using I found the base coat difficult to use, I had prepared my nails by cleaning with nail varnish remover then buffing my nail beds to ensure they were smooth and then washing my hands. The base coat separated on my nail almost like water on an oily surface yet my nails were clean. I found I had to put more on than I usually would and set it with the uv light immediately to prevent it from separating and being uneven.
The colour varnish went on fine, I did two coats. I found after the last coat on a couple of nails at the edges it went like a raisin! As if it pooled with too much product and when I’d set it I’d just set a “skin” on top. I was super disappointed as I’d spent ages making sure they were perfect. I kept going and put on the top coat which then completely hid the fact it happened! Which was a relief. I’m wondering if it was the amount of varnish I’d applied so maybe try to keep it as thin as possible when applying.
Overall I’m happy, I love the colours. Not so impressed with the base coat but it did the job required. This set would make a lovely gift or addition to your own nail varnish collection.
Overall i’m Really happy with the product:
Base coat: great formula, really easy to apply, a little bit goes a long way, cures well in the LED lamp (I cured each coat of base coat, polish and top coat for 1 min to be sure it dried. Although I am confident 30 seconds would have been enough.
Top coat: also a great formula, not too runny nor gloopy, there is no requirement to prep any of the steps. The top coat dries without a sticky layer (in my view this is absolutely amazing – I have never before done my own gel nails and I was able to do an amazing job)
Colour: all the colours are really pretty. The formula IS a little on the thicker side, but I actually preferred this for the colour because it was easier to apply I thought that those polishes you get which run all over the place. I prefer a thicker formula which I could distribute easily and not get the colour into my cuticles. The brushes are a good size too so it’s really easy to apply.
Overall this product I highly recommend,the bottles of colour are small, but could easily provide between 3-5 manicures for all ten fingers in each colour. Considering that one manicure costs 30 in my area, that is approx 100 manicure (300) worth in one small pretty box 🙂
Drawbacks: the only drawback is the removal: it’s funny so many people have said that this polish came off within days – because I couldn’t get it off my nails even after soaking it in acetone for 20 mins! Mind you, I have tried to do this after applying many layers of polish (my first manicure was a marbled manicure with multiple colours – which is really great to do with these because they do not dry out and can be easily wiped off), and I have tried to take it off one week after putting on the design because I didn’t like to wear the same design for that long and wanted to change my nail colours. I suggest to try wearing for the full two weeks and probably by then there will be a little wear on the nails. There was a little chipping on the tip of the nail but I did this myself and I did not seal the tip of my nail with the top coat.
I attach a photo of the manicure I have just done and after sealing it I can see that this polish will not come off for next two weeks – for sure.
I will definitely recommend this product and will be buying more of the other colours from this brand, because the formulas are great. Disclaimer: the colours are fairly opaque, but I still used a base, two coats of colour and a top coat.
