Looks lovely in my kitchen, and so useful having the 2 drawers to cook different foods, you can cook different food at different temperatures and for different lengths of time. Use it all the time, don’t know what I did without it!
I jumped on the air fryer wagon a long time after my family and friends. A very good purchase. Food cooks much quicker than in a standard oven. Not everything can be cooked but most things can. Chicken and sausages ( especially sausages) are much improved in the air fryer and it also does excellent toasties.
Absolute game changer. We had a small air fryer but glad we upgraded to this model. 2 baskets both gig enough for a medium size chicken. We don’t very often use our main oven now so it must be saving money.
What I love about this airfyer is the big draw easy to take out the middle, can make bigger meals with the one draw or just have 2 small draws, glad I upgraded to this one as I love it,I also bought the liners to keep it looking lovely and new excelle
This product is so much better than anticipated. It cooks things quickly and efficiently. The drawer has so many ways you can use it and the sync feature for mixed cooking is great. Only thing is if you are making bacon it literally needs to be set for 5 minutes or it will be overcooked! Fantastic kit. Ps order the accesory kits at the same time you won’t regret it.
After much deliberation I decided to purchase this model of the Ninja Air Fryer. It is perfect for me as I am now cooking for one which has it’s own downfalls. This Model is very versatile and I have not used my main oven since purchasing. Adequate worktop space is a must but the machine itself is not unattractive. Use of liners ( purchased separately) make keeping the Air Fryer clean so easy.
The Ninja Foodi MAX Dual Zone Air Fryer is a total game-changer. This bad boy handles everything with ease—air frying, max crisping, roasting, and baking. With two drawers and a 9.5L capacity, I can whip up meals for the whole family in no time. Cleanup is a breeze thanks to the nonstick, dishwasher-safe baskets. The sleek copper/black design is a bonus, and it even comes with tongs! If you want to level up your kitchen game with easy, oil-free cooking, this fryer is a must-have. Highly recommend!
I’m really pleased with my new Ninja Air Fryer. This is a replacement for the one I already had as I wanted one slightly bigger.
I am a little annoyed that only a couple of weeks after purchasing it the price has been reduced by 10.
I got caught in the Air Fryer hype and bought this. Never thought I would use it at all. Started to do some bits and pieces in it and now use it daily. Saves a load of time, dead easy to clean and use. Not suitable for bulk meal prep. But when you want to cook something quick you cannot beat it. This one is a good size as well.
We have never had an air fryer before. So we took the plunge and decided to buy this double stack one, more so because of limited space in our kitchen. It’s a total game changer for us. It’s the bonus of not needing to use our electric fan oven ever again. We have used it a few times now, it’s cooked a whole chicken perfectly!
It cooks great and evenly, and is not noisy as some reviews claim. It’s easy to clean, and plenty big enough, and performs exceptionally.
We are so glad that we decided to buy this air fryer, it’s fab!
I wasn’t sure I needed, or would use an air fryer, but after trying a small, cheap make, I took the plunge. I’ve only used my oven once since I got it. It cooks really well, and it’s very easy to clean. Doesn’t take up as much space as I though it migh
Before i had Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer i had the Ninja Foodi 10-in-1 Multifunction Oven which i bought in january this year i looked at the reviews and some said it was a nightmare to clean but i thought they probably wasnt cleaning it properly so i went ahead and bought it ,,it was a nightmare to clean so sent it back to amazon and got this new Ninja Foodi FlexDrawer, its so easy to clean and use .
This makes the same level of noise as the previous versions of this… Love the way you can cook different things all at once.. it does cook slightly unevenly.. ie the front of this tends to crisp faster . However if you turn your meat around as well as over then it does what it says on the tin.. Some people have said it doesn’t cook evenly.. I haven’t had this issue as of yet… Works brilliantly for me and the fact you can cook meat and veg at the same time.. in the same air fryer pan.. I think it’s fantastic and well worth the money… But some people will prefer the usual double air fryer… But if you are a little short on space. Then this is a game changer..
This was my first experience of an Air Fryer and after reading reviews this looked to be a good option. It really has changed our way of cooking in the house. Very easy to use and clean. The options are clear and easy to select. The features that allow the two draws to sync or match is very useful. I bought rubber trays to fit and help with keeping clean.
I’ve been using a non brand Air fryer for nearly 2 years, I decided to buy this one because of the offer and paying monthly instalment, had my eye on this for a while, its so much quicker than my old version, I love that you can use 2 departments or you can take the devider out for a much bigger tray, I was impressed how better and faster this cooked, I love the extra crisp where I can pop my cracking in to give it a bubbly melt in mouth, it cooks frozen pies so much better too, I’m glad I got this
Excellent addition to my cooking appliances, we only two but I’m glad I went for slightly larger model, would have been good if grill rack was included, I sent for one and it means I can now cook whole meal in one go. Also sent for Ninja recipe book, don’t bother with this it is aimed at American market, temperatures are in Fahrenheit and measures in cups! After only 10 days of owning my air fryer I am very pleased I finally joined my friends in their enthusiasm for cooking this way. Lastly appliance fits into my kitchen nicely hardly bigger than my espresso machine
Brilliant quality.
Super easy to operate.
Love the (super) non-stick draws and trays.
Maximum flexibility with dual draws that can heat independently, synced or matched.
Cook 2 separate things and different heats and timings.
Cook 2 draws matched in heat and time.
Or ‘sync’ draws, so that one draw starts cooking and the second one automatically starts cooking at the right time, that both end at the same time. (i.e. Something that needs 20 mins in draw 1 and something that needs 10 mins in draw 2… when synced, draw 2 only starts cooking when there are 10 mins left of draw 1’s cooking time.)
Only downside is, speaking as someone who like to wash up as they go, rather than coming back later, this does really need to cool before cleaning as the ‘crisper trays’ are incredibly difficult to remove and clean from a still hot draw without burning your fingers.
Ok so I’ve had this machine for three month now. I can honestly say we haven’t use the built in oven since we got it. It’s a fantastic piece of kit. We never preheat it. Just pop in what you’re doing and it cooks in half the time of a conventional oven. It’s also a cinch to clean No more horrid oven cleaning! I would definitely recommend this and if ours breaks I’m buying another one!
The minor niggles – Once you’ve set a programme and pressed start you can’t alter it. For instance if you want to change the temperature mid way it won’t let you. If you want to stop cooking in one side but not the other it won’t let you. You have to stop them both and start again. You have to stop it and reprogramme it and then press start again. I’d like to see Ninja address this. That said it’s really minor and don’t let it stop you getting one. Also this is good for up to four people. For a larger meal you’d need the main oven. It does two dishes so we steam vegetables on the hob.
Finally the reheat button is really disappointing. It takes forever. We use the microwave for this purpose.
With rising electric bills this thing will save you money and pay for itself over time. It also cooks nicer food than the oven so it’s a win win.
I can see the day coming when all new kitchens will have built in air fryers instead of ovens.
Get one you will not regret it!
I have been thinking about getting a air fryer for a while now and when I saw this product, I decided to get it straight away thank you very much
I’ve had other air fryers but this Ninja has been better by far with its settings and it’s all touch control. It seems easier to keep clean and I just love it. Recommend it.
Still learning how to get the best results. Impressed with cooking potatoes and some veg. Also reheating food but still over cooking meat such as steaks sausages lamb chops and pork chops.
I have been reading so much about how good Air Fryers are, and because I’ve never used or owned one, the only way I’d know if it was good for me or not, is to buy one. I did a lot of research into size, make and reviews. I decided to buy a good brand, Ninja, and one that will take a medium size amount of food. Arrived quickly. Started off using it for meat with crispy coating, and was very impressed, as the food came out beautifully crispy. I have since bought some silicone liners, which help enormously with keeping the Air Fryer clean. It does take a bit of judging on how long, temperatures etc to cook your food, but after a bit of trial and error, you start to understand the times. I can now see why everyone raves about Air Fryers, and I am so pleased I bought this now. The only negative is the price, it’s a bit expensive, but it’s worth it as an investment.
I won’t repeat the features this Ninja Air Fryer has, as many previous reviewers have already outlined them. What I would say about this machine is that it is perfect for two people. For instance, take a simple meal such as Pukka pie & chips. 2 Pukka pies will fit perfectly diagonally in one of the trays. Enough chips to feed 2 people will be a simple thing to cook. 2 supermarket breaded / battered fish fillets also fit nicely sided by side.
Once you add in a 3rd person, things can get tricky. Adding a 3rd pie or fish etc. to the mix means you will need to position them on their sides to fit, which also means they will need regular turning to avoid the part nearest the heating element in the top of the unit browning faster than the rest of the pie/fish.
Adding a 3rd portion of chips will also mean constant shaking of the tray and to be honest, you will still probably end up with a few chips that haven’t browned and are still a bit raw. Trying to turn them with tongs or a wooden spoon just ends up with broken chips.
The instructions do warn you about overfilling the trays however, but don’t expect to get a lot of food in each tray without a lot of ‘shaking’.
Am I still happy with the Ninja? 100% yes! You just have to learn what is possible to get the best results.
Start by cooking small portions and you’ll soon learn how far you can push the quantity side of things. Cooking for a family of 4 means you would probably need to cook in batches, which might not work for you as keeping food warm in your main oven sort of defeats the object of an air fryer.
You can cook all sorts of delicious stuff like Peking crispy duck, Tempura king prawns, scampi, steak, chicken breasts, fabulous baked potato etc. etc. all cooked much quicker than a regular oven.
Hope this helps.
This airfryer by Ninja is very well made in my opinion. It came exceptionally well packaged in two outer boxes as well as the internal moulded cardboard protectors inside. The unit was wrapped in a protective plastic sheath with a piece of cardboard in the tray to prevent the grilling tray from banging around inside during transit.
In the box there is the device itself and two booklets, one an easy setup guide and the other some recipes and use cases such as for dehydration processes. So far I have cooked steak, cumberland sausages, chicken breasts and some vegetables. All were easy to cook. I will be investing in some silicone baskets for the cooking tray as cleaning can be a bit of a faff but that is the case with all airfryers.
Value is good in my opinion given the quality of the fit and finish and cooking ability. At 6.5L capacity it has more than enough space for my needs. The screen is easy to read and the buttons are tactile and are also easy to use. The whole product appears to be durable and long lasting. Therefore I can easily recommend it. Great product!
Before purchasing the Ninja air fryer, I previously owned a Tower branded air fryer. I personally don’t feel that the experience is any more “premium” than any other branded air fryers. I also feel that the materials are cheaply made It does look nice but it feels that the materials are cheap. However, I do love my air fryer It’s made everything so much more convenient as with my previous air fryer, I use my air fryer now more than I do my conventional oven. One thing to note is that the “touchpad” on the front isn’t actually a touchpad it’s buttons click also, the Ninja Max isn’t actually wider in capacity It just has a deeper drawer. Overall, I am happy with my purchase but in comparison to any other branded air fryer it’s pretty much the same given that the Ninja Max air fryer does have five cooking settings, but I feel like most people would just use the standard air fry option.
I do recommend this product but I don’t feel like it’s any different from buying a cheap alternative. I also wish that this product was available to buy in different colours rather than just grey.
I liked almost everything, I tried these products when they first appeared and ended up selling it, it was smaller but inconsistent and more trouble than what it benefitted.
This however I found in John Lewis along with a coffee machine. I spoke to the usual very informed and truthful sales assistant and assessed the size, convenience and price, it was on offer and so decided to buy, however no stock due to its popularity in reduction price, usage and savings in time and money, it’s fantastic I bought two collapsable silicon inners that save on washing up although you can put the food holder in dishwasher, the inners are great, safe and easy to store as you can have one always ready to go in machine, pre heat 2/3 mins take potatoes, squash, carrots, parsnips, and slice, chip, cube etc and addd seasoning of choice, even oil if required, same for meat chicken, lamb, pork etc and I usually microwave the afore mipentioned veg to just get them started, as apposed to boiling, in container, lid on drop of water 3 tea spoons max, and three mins on 1000 or adjust accordingly, then into dryfry and 180 to 190 5 to 7mins and then check adjust and same again, fish, salad, meat, pasta being prepared as this cooks and your done corn on cob, let your mind go wild or look up some recipes, but no heating the fan oven to then wait 30 mins or more and apart from Pizza I haven’t used oven since three months, that’s just the tip, I can see Christmas beeping lots more fun, and flexible. Also much cheaper and healthier, less washing up. It’s a win win like microwave if you use correctly and remember they have moved on in the past thirty years, my new Panasonic MW has no turntable and so much larger capacity, I had to replace my 15 year old Panasonic as it started making a funny noise? Now I can literally get a chicken portion out of freezer and within 30 mins be sat down eating a lovely succulent meal with veg or accompanied veg, baked potato, or whatever and only a plate and inner silicone container and bowl to wash. I’m sat here now with nothing out of freezer and could be eating a lovely meal in 30 mins, instead I’m going to do a risotto as I got a homemade stock out of freezer yesterday and that’s in fridge, so it’s not that I can’t cook or that I don’t like good food, I do and I’m just pointing out those things like, having to go into town (this is like you have to eat) but you don’t have a car, so it’s plan to get to bus outperform train station etc, or cut a piece of wood, but you don’t have a saw, so what I’m saying is this and the other things I’ve mentioned just give you mother options and make it Quicker whilst saving money in the long run.
I have one of the first models of Philips Airfryer and have had it for several years now. After the microwave and kettle it is the appliance I use the most. Yes it’s great for making french fries with barely any oil, but it’s also fantastic for heating and crisping up anything frozen like breadrolls, pies, frozen chicken, hamburges patties, sausages etc. The beauty of the air fryer is that becuase it has a very large element, a small cooking area and a powerful fan, it heats up incredibly quickly. Frozen foods are cooked in half the suggested time. And no waiting for 20 minutes for the oven to warm up. 2-3 minutes and the air fryer is pre-heated. It’s a must for singles who only need to cook small amounts as well as for families where you can do a portion of fries in one go. I defrost frozen rolls in the microwave for 30 seconds and then pop them in the airfryer for 5 minutes and they’re perfect.
My top tip is to make sure you have good ventilation. I use mine placed on top of a breadboard on the cooker with the extractor fan on. The high heat blows out air saturated with oil and smoke which you dont want in the kitchen. So forget the glossy pictures of using it on a counter top. Especially if you are making fries.
So how does this Ninja Air Fryer compare to the Philips?
Well inside the parts look almost identical. The only major differences are:
The Ninja has a digital display and buttons rather than a manual temperature dial and a timer dial.
The Ninja has a wider temperature range and goes up to 210 degrees celsius (max temp for Philips is 200)
The Ninja has an extra setting for dehydrating fruits and vegetables or making jerky.
The most noticeable difference is the frying basket. The ninjas basket is round (which is great as it is much easier to clean than the Philips which is square with ridges) and it has an insert to lift food from the bottom whereas the Philips has a basket that lifts out with a mesh bottom. There are pros and cons to the Ninja design. It’s much easier to clean but the insert has wider slots in it and smaller fries can fall through the holes or get stuck in it.
The other difference is when you open the fryer to check on the cooking progress the Ninja automatically stops and starts again once the basket is put back whereas the Philips just keeps on going.
They both have the same wattage (around 1500 watts)
Ninja has slightly larger capacity 900g fries versus 800g for the original Philips.
The Ninja is competitively priced but the original model Philips is also more affordable now that larger and digital models have come out. At time of writing this review the Ninja was coming out cheapest though.
In terms of performance they are identical. Philips maybe has a very slight edge on getting things crispier due to better airflow because of the mesh basket but that also makes it more difficult to clean.
Whats in the box:
The airfryer with UK plug
Instruction booklet and recipe booklet
All in all, if you don’t have an airfryer yet, get one. This is a great one to start with.
