it took me about an hour to install it including running the reverse camera cables. i didn’t connect it to the reverse light yet . in the next few days i’ll go through the all about it. dash cam is great quality
Most of the features are very good except the bluetooth, whenever start a car (as well as this carplay). It takes a minute or more to connect to phone’s bluetooth, sometimes it fails resulting multiple times re-attempt. Hope this part can be rectified.
Easy to set up and connect. Early days but music works well through amazon music and andriod auto working well. Will be testing over the next few weeks to see full review but great item so far. No complaints.
A very good unit for the price. I have set it up and all works well for all my needs. It was just getting used to the menu’s and what they did whick took me a little time thats all.
The screen overall works well as described and I am happy with it after using for over a month now with wireless Apple CarPlay. There are, however, some improvements that could be made that, in fairness, are not necessarily better in alternatives that I have not tested.
1) Ambient light sensing to automatically adjust the brightness of the screen. Currently this can only be done manually.
2) The touchscreen home, volume and brightness buttons that appear when using CarPlay can overlap some in App control function buttons. This is most evident when using full screen navigation.
3) The screen resolution is excellent. However, the screen acts like a mirror in bright sunlight and would benefit from an anti-glare finish. I got an anti-glare protector which has helped a lot.
4) A nice touch would to be able to select your own start-up logo: a function I know that is available in some other portable screens.
Overall, given the value for money consideration, this screen is recommended and, for that reason I have not exchanged for an alternative in my Jaguar XKR.
The android deck sounds good and is responsive to the touch. Running on stock speakers with no amplifier I did notice a nice change in the quality over my stock radio. I was able to get a bit louder and more clear experience installing this.
The call quality was clear and there were no complaints on the quality of the microphone. Setting my phones up to the deck was flawless and it had no issues connecting to my Pixel 6 pro, or my Iphone 12. I did notice that with both phones on me, it seemed to always connect to the android phone over the iphone, but for me that’s fine as the iphone is my work phone, and most people only have one phone anyways.
The backup camera works well, but you need to have the understanding that it is not a competitor to a factory backup camera. I generally use it more for checking behind me when backing out of a parking space, or assisting with hooking up the trailer to the hitch. I just don’t trust it well enough to utilize it for parking between vehicles.
Unfortunately, there is nothing that really stands out about this deck over other android decks. I have used several at this price point, and several that are cheaper. There is no clear difference between this one at $148 over an $80 one that I hooked up in my vehicle. The main difference is that it comes pre-packaged with a rear camera, but they are cheaper if you just buy it separately. We are at a point with android decks that there are so many on the market, it is hard to charge $150 for a unit, when I can purchase one for $40 – $80 cheaper and have the same experience.
If you prefer one purchase and not having to research accessories, this is not a bad buy for a first timer getting into using Android decks in their vehicles. It worked as intended, included everything needed, and even had the courtesy of including a trim removal tool, which is a nice touch I am also appreciative of the instructions they include for the fact that the wiring diagram is clear and easy to read. Anyone that has ever purchased an aftermarket android deck knows that the colors rarely match, and it can sometimes be a guessing game on which wires connect to what if the instructions do not include a wiring diagram.
Pro: Detailed Manual
My husband haven’t installed a radio in about 6 years so he was pleasantly surprised to find a detailed manual with photo guided sections. It helped him skip over a lot of YouTube searching. He also liked the info sticker on the device that guided him through the cord matching. The radio does not take long to load when powered on. Connecting to Android Auto was a breeze as well as navigating through the menus. The screen is very responsive and does not lag. This radio is an upgrade in our daughter’s 2004 f150. Also a pro was all of the added installation accessories.
Cons: So far the remote is super cheap compared the quality of the ones included in competitors packaging. This is the same style remote as the ones included in the $17 fairy lights. Personally, I just find that to be a con.
