I received this item from the Amazon Vine Program.
We used these straps to hold large furniture when we were moving to our new home.
These Ratchet Straps are super strong, with two of them together holding up to 800 kilograms.
They’re about 6 meters long and 25 millimeters wide.
They come with hooks that make them great for securing things like mattress, cabinets or tables.
They use a cam buckle that helps tighten them up real good to keep your stuff safe and secure inside the vehicle.
Recommended.
My review is based around the current selling price of 9.00 (4.50 per strap)
Pros:
Really thick durable webbing with quoted break strength at 800kg!
Simple and easy to use
Good 6 Metre length allows 1 strap to be more useful than shorter lengths (goes farther)
Rubber coated handle protects hands
Smooth ratchet operation
Cons:
The 800kg break strength is not stamped anywhere so be cautious about taking the word for it.
Summary:
As said above really decent straps at a good price but be wary of going anywhere near the 800kg limit. This is not stamped anywhere on the straps, so could easily be a misprint. I will be using mine for loads up to 50kg so I’m nowhere near this figure.
These straps good to be used for light goods or even for a motorcycle, as long as the goods are under the stated weight limit. Please note that there is no label to mention the wight limit therefore you have to be cautious.
As for the quality they seem to be durable, but the time will tell.
The handle has a plastic protection to reduce the risk of injury when using the to fasten the straps in place.
I don’t have much experience with ratchet straps in the past (none); however, since I’m planning on traveling with my bikes set up on the roof of my car, it’s something I’m going to have to use. Hence, I decided to go for this product. First impressions are positive—the straps seem strong and well-made, the ratchet works without a hiccup, and threading the strap through the ratchet is easy with plenty of room for adjustments. The 6-meter length should be more than enough for securing my bike on the roof of the car.
According to the product description, these straps have a breaking point at 800kg, which should be enough for most moderately heavy tasks. I wouldn’t try to push it to the limit myself, but it’s nice to know that there is plenty of room for your not super heavy tasks. Overall, a decent product, and I think it’s fairly priced too.
Using these to keep in the car to secured loads down in the boot or to the roof bars. The dual hooks work better than other style you see, where they have one hook and it’s hard to get it to hook around tie down points, and they are nice and bright so easy to find in the back of the car. Perfect length too. Reccomended.
This is two sets of 6 metre, 25mm ratchet straps in Orange. They are packaged in a resealable plastic bag which is useful for storage of the straps.
They seem to be well made and fairly strong, they are made from nylon fabric which seems very durable. The metal part of these is covered by plastic which does make them a little more comfortable to work with. I would say these are more suitable for lighter domestic loads rather than the very heavy commercial loads.
I would recommend these straps as they are very easy to use and are great for light loads/domestic use. At time of review (Nov 2023) these are priced at 11.04 which I think seems very reasonable.
I have a couple of ratchet straps but always useful to have a few more, this pack of two decent length straps gives me a few more options for the next trip to B & Q!
Tested on the bench, the strap threads through easily and the ratchet pulls up tight without any effort. The release mechanism also worked well. The strap looks like it will stay flat in use, rather than folding up as some cheaper ones do, but time will tell.
There are no labels / information to support the claimed SWL, (400kg, with 800kg break strength) so I would not use them for anything particularly heavy, but fine for securing timber to a roof rack or similar purposes. Similar sized ones that I have already do have labels with data on them. The construction quality looks the same so not an issue using them.
Our car has roof rails so the hook ends are fine to use — wrapped round the rail the hooked back onto the strap, they might not suit every situation.
The plastic coating on the lever handle makes them more comfortable to use and may help avoid some of the scratching which is a potential issue when using this type of strap.
Price wise (12.99 at time of review) appears reasonable for the pair.
First impressions of the straps are of a well presented and manufactured product.
Ratchets are smooth and have a nice plastic cover on the ratchet handle.
These are thin straps at just under 1″ in width and the stitching seems adequate, however, the straps DO NOT have any rating labels whatsoever, stating the European Standard nor the actual load ratings so technically not legal for use on securing loads on vehicles on UK roads.
The listing gives a breaking load of 800kg and a securing load of 400kg but, as previously stated, there’s nothing to actually confirm this so it will be up to you to decide if your load is safe.
Ends of the straps have the hooks, more usually found on commercial straps, rather than being the more versatile ‘endless’ variety, so you will be limited in attachment points.
Suited for use in the garden or other non-road useage.
Standard ratchet straps of decent quality. They are 6 meters long so will go round just about anything you need them to. Stitching looks fine, the hooks look good and strong. I think they are cadmium coated so unless you leave them out in the rain or store them wet, they shouldn’t suffer from too much rusting for quite some time. The plastic coating on some of the metal bits make them a bit more pleasant to use than those without. The slots in the drums are plenty wide for easy threading and have enough room to twist the webbing if you’ve got a hook facing the wrong way. Once threaded they wrap up pretty neatly for storage. They come in a re-sealable plastic bag which can be used to store them. All in all very pleased with these, they should give good service.
These look and feel decent enough quality. These are very similar to a set of 4 my son bought very recently.
The price seems fairly reasonable.
One big issue with this listing is the fact that we think some of photos are obviously fake / photoshopped. This cold be very misleading, especially using skinny straps to secure very heavy things.
