Does toast roast and bake very well only thing to take note of i had put a little close to wall socket and found plug had welded onto back of oven with oven heat so make sure you leave good air gap behind ove
Really pleased with this purchase. Initially I was looking for a replacement toaster, and then came across this multi-functional item. Have used the toast, air fry, and oven functions so far. Yet to try the grill. Found the removable crumb tray and air-fry basket a bit hard to clean, and the former feels a bit flimsy but happy overall, and great for the price. Tend to use this instead of my big main oven as heats up quickly and more economical. So far so good, and I would buy again.
Good mini oven brought for air fryer capabilities. and wow! what have I been missing? The old air-fryer took almost double the time to cook a pastie. Hot and ready to eat in no time. The best bit for me is that you can see the food cooking clearly without any chance of burning.
Upgraded from a 2L small one to this and this is much better , good quality and reminds you half way through to shake the contents . So far im really pleased with it and wouldnt be without it now
Have not stopped using this since I got it.
Easy to use & quite a big capacity for me, maybe a bit small for two.
Have had none of the issues I’ve read about, & I’ve had mine a while now, it’s still working perfectly.
So I would recommend this
Have had this about a month now and use it most days. Really simple to use and easy to keep clean. Have tried lots of things I would normally cook in the oven and there have only been a couple that didn’t quite work. Looking forward to experimenting more. The 3.5 litre size is perfect for one person, but would probably be a bit small for two or more.
I take take the pizza out of the freezer and hour before cooking it. Thin crust that recommends 13mins are done in 8ish mins. Air Frying takes about the recommended time. I’m still figuring out the best settings. 99% of my meals are frozen pizza’s though
The fryer works ok. The manual is very short and not easy to read.
The icons on the fryer are unbelievably unclear.
Cleaning is easy. Small foodparts fall through grating.
Results are ok.
Good air fryer but it does not have a basket as such, but so far I have not found this to be a problem. Great for making home made chips.
I ended up returning mine. I couldn’t figure what I really wanted and needed it for. While it does save electricity compared to my oven it doesn’t make sense to me to spend 100 and take up so much counter space just to save money on power bills. Also the temperature control is not great because you can only run it on full temp when the fan (airfry mode) is running. Then when using it on airfry mode I found it didnt Cook things that evenly or it burnt them. So I didn’t think this was very good personally but it cold be good if you have limited space and just need a fairly powerful oven.
Reasonably priced, easy to use and clean; everyone raves about air fryers but I find it nice to have rather than being a “must have” appliance.
I live alone and find the size OK but I don’t think it’s big enough for a couple let alone a family, for example a single portion ready meal fits but a double portion wouldn’t, neither would a joint much larger than 1lb (500/600 grms).
One big plus is that oven chips and Aunt Bessies Roasties are really MUCH better than a conventional oven .
Glad I bought it but could easily live without and the money saving over a normal oven is probably minimal unless you use it much more frequently than I do.
I tried to buy the Russell Hobbs XL SatisFry Family Rapid Air Fryer a year ago from another shop, but was let down and instead bought a Ninja 14 in 1 air fryer, which I have used over the last year. I found that I used the air fryer so often that I never used the oven, and after Christmas I decided to buy another air fryer, though I didn’t need something as big as the Ninja. So when I saw the price of this I decided to go ahead and buy.
When reviewing this product, I will be comparing it to the Ninja, this isn’t really a fair comparison as the Ninja costs a lot more and has many more functions, but I can compare the areas, where the 2 air fryers are similar.
So the build of the SatisFry is solid but it is not in the same league as the Ninja, which feels like a tank. The lid of the SatisFry just doesn’t give you the same confidence of quality when being raised, when compared to the Ninja. When being raised the lid of the SatisFry moves about and makes a noise, where as the Ninja is silent.
Accessing food inside the SatisFry is much easier than the Ninja, and this is definitely a win for the SatisFry, as the has a much shallower bowl and the lid is much bigger. This is a big advantage, when wanting to turn food.
The Ninja does hold 7.5l, whilst the SatisFry holds 2l less at 5.5. For most things I found the SatisFry is more practical, to put things into, as it has a more square design, but I couldn’t cook a medium Chicken in the SatisFry, where as I can for with the Ninja.
The SatisFry doesn’t come with many extras. It does come with a Grill and crisper plate, but that is about it. This is useful for certain thngs but not everything and I sometimes use on of the racks from the Ninja, when I want to cook, as it raise the food off the bottom of the SatisFry’s bowl, which allows food to cook better.
The SatisFry is much easier to clean than the Ninja and can be cleaned very quickly.
The controls of the SatisFry are easy to use. The buttons are a bit spungy but work well enough. I like that you can see the setting you are using during cooking and it is easy to change the settings during a cook.
When it comes to cooking, the Ninja certainly works better as an air fryer, cooking food much faster. As a grill I would say things are similar, cooking bacon in around the same time. When using the baking, I found I used around the same time I would do with an oven, when cooking food like a pie. The SatisFry does come with a very useful guide to cooking times, though some are a little off.
In many ways I really like the SatisFry more than the Ninja, and whilst the Ninja cooks better, I prefer the practicality of the SatisFry, being able to access food. It takes longer to cook food but it still does a good job. I can’t give this product 5 stars but it does get a good 4 stars.
Having now owned the Air Fryer for 6 weeks and tried all methods of cooking available, i can definitely say that this is now my favourite kitchen appliance (taking over from my blender). The fryer is so easy to use and cleaning is a simple rinse and wipe, no scrubbing required. I have air fried, baked, slow cooked, seared and grilled my way through the Christmas and new year period and this little badger hasn’t let me down at all.
I would seriously consider looking at getting one of the Air Fryers, especially given the price!!
I mean, I’ve been using it for few months now and I love it. Made my life easier. Now most of us come here on reviews to see what stands out in this product compared to others in the market.
My pros for this is:
– Good value for the 8L air fryer. (I got it for 74.99, I saw it go lesser too just fyi)
– Well known brand so you can say it can be reliable and trust it will be good.
– The best part is it makes noise mid-way thru your full timer to shake or flip. Small thing but I love it and makes my life easier.

Now about cleaning? umm I haven’t cleaned it yet, but it’s easy to remove the basket so I assume it would be easy to clean.
Small thing- lol you would know if you’re buying such 8L item it would take a lot of space. That’s it. 🙂
Wasn’t sure whether to go for a high end Air Fryer or this one, but glad I went for this in the end. This Russell Hobbs 8L air fryer has plenty of room in the basket, is easy to clean, and cooks everything I have thrown at it so far. Frozen chips in 10 – 12 minutes, chicken breast (flatten it first) in about 10 minutes, shop bought pasties etc in about 10 minutes (they are nicely baked, not soggy like from the microwave). This 8L model will even cook a whole chicken! All taste great.
The only thing I don’t like is that whoever designed the tray that sits inside the basket, put 2 holes in the middle (to lift it out) and a few chips always fall through the holes, but that is a very minor issue, so 5 stars for this from me.
Reading reviews regarding Air Fryers and the positive comments from my work colleagues, I decided to buy one myself and as I have several appliances from Russell Hobbs, bought this one.
Pros:
Nice and compact.
Deep Single Draw for cooking.
Soft touch pre programmed buttons.
Full manual programming of temperature and time.
Easy to clean.
Negs:
Short mains lead.
First time I used this was for frozen curly fries. Pre heated and fully cooked in 9 minutes, compared to near double time for conventional oven.
Would I recommend this product? Yes, 100%
I bought this 5-in-1 mini oven to replace a Silvercrest (Lidl) mini oven which had given up the ghost after two years.
The slightly larger size suits my needs better and it looks to be well built but the black numerals are difficult to read against the stainless steel background.
Generally it works very well but I am puzzled as to why you first need to turn the timer control to 20 and allow it to warm up before selecting the cooking time you want. I f you don’t do this the temperature rises very quickly—way higher than the temperature you have already selected. Very strange.
I have yet to try the grill or toast functions but food is cooked/reheated evenly in the oven and I am happy with my purchase.
Having used a microwave combi oven I didn’t think things could get better. I was very wrong! This is perfect for me. The food is cooked perfectly and it’s quicker and cheaper to run. My only negative comment is the lack of recipe book, but it’s not a necessity, I just wanted ideas.
The footprint is perfect for my small kitchen. Oh, did I mention the flavours are locked in so it’s nutricious and tasty. What’s not to like?
Pros:
— Perfect capacity size for one large or two small portions
— Very easy to keep clean
— Looks great, and runs quiet
— Easy to lift lid and check progress
— Easy to lift the cooking dish out
— Not just an air-fryer; it can also roast & bake without using any oil
— It’s faster and more energy efficient than an oven
Cons:
— It’s not as fast as it claims to be
— It’s got a large footprint (see pics)
— The dish could have had plastic handles (like my rice cooker) so as to minimize the need for oven gloves
— Air-frying is a whole new procedure to learn
Everyone seems to be getting sucked in to the air-fryer trend, but I was determined to resist it. Besides, air-fryers all seemed either too small, too expensive, or too much of a faff to clean.
What I really wanted was a halogen oven! Because where air dryers are large contraptions, usually with small drawers, and no windows, I’d seen halogen cookers that were pretty much just a big pyrex dish with a chunky lid.
I liked the idea of being able to see the progress, and I liked that most of the product was cooking space. However, after looking into the running-costs (and, therefore environmental friendliness) of different cooking methods, I changed my tune.
Air-fryers beat conventional ovens and halogen cookers. They’re perhaps not as efficient as a modern microwave, but I’m not a fan of microwave ovens.
I was looking for something that could cook for one or two people. I also wanted versatile enough to more than just roast potatoes. Most recommendations were ‘Ninja’ this or ‘Ninja’ that, but I’m not a fan of those wee drawers on the Ninjas, especially at their price point.
Anyway, long story short, I found this! It looks great, it does everything I need, and more!
I love that the lid lifts up to reveal a large cooking dish (5.5l). And I love how easy it is to clean after use too.
It doesn’t seem to cook 75% faster than a conventional oven, but it is pretty quick!
I’ve been using this for a month now and I’m very happy with it. I’ve cooked vegetables, chicken, fish n chips, and even slow cooked a beef stew in it.
As you can see from the photographs, the unit takes up a fair bit of space in my small kitchen. But I think it’s worth it. There seems to be a lot less prep involved when air-frying, so losing some prep space is a fair trade-off.
In the pictures, I’m cooking fish & chips. I’ve chopped potatoes into wedges, drizzled in a little oil, and set the machine foi 20 mins at 205c on the ‘potato’ setting.
After 10 mins, I lift the lid, use oven gloves to remove the dish, give it a shake to toss the potatoes and add in a frozen fish fillet.
With 5 mins remaining, I flip the fish over, and turn the potatoes.
And that’s it! A hot, healthy meal in 20 mins (I also steamed some broccoli on the hob, it’s not all beige food, honest!).
The best part is that there’s virtually no mess. I just ate the meal, then wiped the cooker-dish clean with a damp, soapy cloth.
In the past I would have had to par-boil the wedges, then painstakingly flip them every 10 mins as they sat in the oven for 40 minutes. So it would have taken 3x longer, and used a pan, a strainer and a baking tray, which will need to be washed.
The unit lets off a fair bit of steam while cooking, so if you plan on using it frequently, I’d advise not keeping it under your overhead cupboards.
The only downside I’ve encountered in a month of regular use (3-4 times per week), is that I’m having to Google-search the timings for pretty much everything! The instructions on the fish fillet, for example, don’t mention cook times (from fresh or frozen) for an air-fryer. But I don’t mind a learning curve
I purchased this air fryer for use by myself and my child. It is very suitable for us in regards to quantity of cooking. After reading its multi function uses I was drawn to the product as a sort of all in one for small meals such as chicken, chips, bacon, other frozen foods & especially its slow cooker function. I have a small kitchen and didn’t want it cluttered with too many appliances so the all-in-one functionality was my main reason for purchasing. It’s a neat looking Air Fryer and matches well with my Russell Hobbs Microwave & kitchen theme ( Grey Modern cabinets with black Appliances and tiling)
The only thing I am quite irritated by is the quality control which seems to be a manufacturing aspect rather than a shipping issue. It was well packaged and on first signs had no indication of minor damage. It is packaged in a plastic bag sandwiched between two cardboard cutouts inside the Russell Hobbs box which is then inside a standard Amazon cardboard box. The unit I received has several scratches which aren’t overly bad and a few are at the rear of the unit which isn’t a real issue as they are not clearly visible. The topmost lid has a plastic surround that then joins onto a metal lid, my unit has a visible scratch on this plastic middle section with small marks on the left side of the button pad. Not a huge deal but with buying a NEW product I personally don’t think its acceptable to have any visible marks or such on clearly visible surfaces. The way the item was packaged means its high unlikely these marks occured during transit.
I also mentioned this to a friend who has the same unit purchased 6 months ago and she also had the same issue but wasn’t bothered as it was going to be used daily and inevitably going to get marked to some extent. Out of curiosity I checked her unit too and it too had similar markings in different places and slight imperfections in the metal lid which looked like poor preparation i.e dust before the metal is painted. After seeing this I knew it was a quality control problem on behalf of Russell Hobbs.
Not the end of the world, its a reasonably cheap Air Fryer when considering its multi function however I don’t think its justifys the poor quality control from RH. Amazon did help to an extent and offered a small refund as I mentioned to the customer support that another unit was likely to arrive in similar, better or worse condition and also as the item was out of stock from Amazon’s warehouse a replacement wasn’t possible. I did get a small 15 refund which reduced the total price to 74.75 so it helped lessen the sting however if you are very into your quality control like msyelf I would not recommend this for said reason but I can’t comment for every unit that is out there.
Taking this QC factor out of the mix the product it still a great little machine and does what it says on the box and hopefully stands the test of time, the warranty (and additonal year if registered within 28days) is a nice bonus.
The air fryer is brilliant, and grilling is great but you need to watch and food cooks really quickly. Would recommend for a couple or student. Sadly it showed some rust within a few weeks on the top front metal where the door closes. Something to watch for. Still a great little oven/air fryer for the price.
I replaced my awful cooker with this and an induction hob. This is at counter-top height, up to temperature in under 5 minutes (or I ignore warmup entirely), and makes great pizza, both frozen, supermarket refrigerator section and supermarket deli. 12″ is the absolute max but that’s enough for me. Air fry mode works best here.
It does great toast, I’ve done lamb wellingtons in it, I’ve done chips in it but my air fryer is better for crispy potato products.
The only thing to be aware of is it can’t do PET (plastic) ready meal trays that are supposed to be ovenable.
It’s a great option for one or perhaps a couple, particularly if you have an air fryer. With this and an induction hob you don’t need a big expensive cooker.
It does feel a bit basic and flimsy and the clockwork timer is quite loud. But it does everything on timers so you can’t leave it on and waste a load of electricity.
I’m really happy with the job it does, but be aware of the limitations. It’s not a main oven for a large family although it will beast breakfast toast as a supplemental oven, doing both sides at once unlike the grill on a dual function or double oven.
