We’ve been using the Sanctuary Spa Lily and Rose Shower Oil between showing with our usual shower gel when we feel it’s been needed and it’s been doing a great job of moisturising.
The “oil” is smooth but not slick to the touch and lightly lathers in use. We suffer from dry skin in areas and after showering with this we genuinely feel and improvement.
The scent is pleasant though not overpowering and doesn’t linger, a positive or a negative depending on your preference.
Not cheap but used sparingly and when needed I feel this is worth it.
I do love a Sanctury Spa product, and whilst not the cheapest, they add a little touch of affordable luxury.
This 200ml flip-cap bottle of Ultra Rich Shower Oil is a lovely scent of Lily & Rose.
It lathers quite nicely, and the scent is quite strong at first, but it does tone down. It leaves my skin feeling soft and fresh and hydrated.
I lovely product that adds a bit of indulgence to your usual mundane daily shower.
Lovely delicate floral scent. I used this with a shower puff and found it to lather well and clean/hydrate my skin well. Beautiful pink bottle as well! Love i
This is a well known brand that always seems to be good quality.
The combination of Lily and Rose is unusual but it is lovely – strong enough to be noticeable but never overpowering and doesn’t stay on the skin for long (bad or good depending on your preference). I think the rose scent comes through more than the lily.
I like the shape of the bottle as it is easy to hold. It’s all part of the branding which is designed to make the customer feel that the product is luxurious. I really don’t know what “Gold of Pleasure oil” is and am completely unconvinced that you need shower gel to “moisturise for up to 2 days after just one use”.
Just a regular amount of shower gel (not sure it needs to be called oil) gives a good lather and leaves my skin soft.
This is priced higher than I would normally pay for shower gel but it’s great for a treat.
I absolutely love Sanctuary products, especially their shower oils. Initially, I wasn’t sure about changing from gel to oil but I’m so glad I did. You only need a small amount as a little goes a long way. The oil mixed with the shower water helps to lather it up on your skin, not only does it feel amazing but it smells divine!
My skin has never felt so good! Using this daily in the shower is keeping my skin incredibly moisturised so perfect for use in the winter when we sometimes get drier skin due to the cold and weather.
This oil is full of natural ingredients, it is cruelty-free, mineral oil-free and vegan-friendly!
Whilst it is a bit pricier than your average shower product I’d say it’s worth the money and you can often grab these products on special offer so look out for any deals and grab it then!
Would make a lovely gift for a friend or family member. Perfect for dry skin!
The Sanctuary Spa Lily and Rose Natural Oils Ultra Rich Shower Oil for Dry Skin is a lovely smelling, very effective shower oil that makes my skin feeling super soft and smelling fantastic afterwards.
The smell profile certainly places rose front and centre – it smells divine in my personal opinion but I could see how others (like my partner!) could perceive it as almost overpowering.
It’s a shame the smell doesn’t linger as long as it could – it fades a little bit too fast in my opinion and the price is arguably on the steep side, given it likely won’t last a month but its effectiveness is the best out of any others I’ve tried and that certainly stands it out from others.
I adore sanctuary products and they are really nice quality every time. The style makes them feel more premium and the branding is pretty. The oil is great at hydrating your skin and easy to use. It smells great too so no complaints from me. It helps add an extra bit of relaxation in your usual shower routine and I feel good that my skin is getting an extra boost, especially when it seems a bit drier through the winter months.
As i am a massive fan of all Sanctuary Spa Products i was keen to try this one and i must say i am very impressed with this product. It smells really good but the rose is a little bit overpowering for me and could do with being toned down a little, however the effectiveness of the product is superb and leaves me with very soft skin after showering, especially during these months when my skin dries out very easily and as this is oil based there is no need to moisturise after. Overall very happy with this and would recommend.
This fragrance is headlined “lily and rose” but subtitled “white lily and damask rose”. That’s unusual, not only because cosmetics makers seem to prefer headlining the more elaborate and exotic-sounding names, but also because to me the subtitle defines the scent slightly better. Instead of being just the floral sweetness of some rose scents, this is muskier, earthier, and more like an actual rosebush rather than a Turkish Delight version of rose. It’s a really nice scent that really deserves close nasal inspection. It’s wonderfully rich, and combined with the thick oily texture, it does feel very indulgent.
Unfortunately, it’s not quite strong enough for me. It’s only a glorious smell if you put your nose close to the oil, or the skin area where you’ve only just applied the oil. The effect is too short-lived. It’s not a scent that lingers, and half an hour after applying it, I can’t smell it on my skin at all. It doesn’t fill the room like some scents can, nor does it compete or combine well at all with any other aromas around. Unlike the essential oils that it slightly resembles, it’s not strong.
The current asking price is nine quid fifty as I write this, and rich though it might be, that’s still far too steep for a 200ml bottle that won’t last that long. That, combined with the lack of strength in the scent, is why I can’t give it five stars.
The effect on my skin is pleasant enough, but it’s only very subtly different from what I’d get from a much cheaper shower gel. The oil doesn’t have any special moisturising powers and it doesn’t leave my skin looking as shiny (or oily) as I expected.
As a side note, the bottle I received had no extra padding or protection at all inside the cardboard box, so I think it was very lucky that the top hadn’t been knocked open in transit, which I think could easily have happened. I imagine several people ordering these might receive bottles that have leaked on the way. The bottle top mechanism is easy to use when in the shower, but it needs extra protection before it gets there.
