What’s not to like? The suction is great, but the machine is still lightweight and maneuverable. The liftaway function enables you to take the main part out of the skeleton of the machine which makes it easy to do the stairs, on top of wardrobes or take it outside to do the car. The cable length is longer than previous models (our old Shark sadly dies after many years of service). It’s a really great and reliable vacuum cleaner and a great price. Even the tools are useful (particularly the pet hair attachment that enables suction + roller function but on the end of the tube to give a proper clean under beds etc)
Best purchase ever, well I was introduced to shark back in August, I wanted one badly, well I’m not disappointed in any way. The of it came so neatly packed then I opened it believe me when say I felt like it was Christmas, with in a few clicks together “sharky” came alive of course naturally I had to do the before and after test comparison from old hoover to sharky, sharky definitely won hands down, I didn’t realise how much dirty my previous hoover had missed till I seen with my own eyes. Would I recommend 100000% so much so 7am out came sharky agai
Very pleased with this. Our last 3 domestic vacuums have been Dysons, but this seems just as good and better value. I think it’s fairly quiet – certainly better than some. The suction power is tremendous – very impressive performance. We don’t have any carpets, but on the couple of entrance mats it is great, you just have to stop it trying to eat them! On hard floors top rate.
Downsides – cable placement seems clumsy, I know there’s a hook on the handle, but the cable always seems in the way when reversing. Also clumsy to me is the handle when using the tools; why the hose size and tool sizes are not compatible I can’t imagine, but there are many occasions when putting the brush directly on the hose end would be so much easier – not as awkward, nearer the work and more accurate in use. And better in confined spaces. As with all these types of vacuum, emptying the dust out is a pain; trying to stop a dust cloud, which is then attracted to the outside of the machine, so it then needs cleaning. But I’m not lashing out 700 on one that does it automatically!
But if you’re thinking about it, go for it, its good points far out the not so good. Close but no cigar – well, maybe a small cheroot..
I have had a shark cordless hoover for a while and loved it. Recently the suction has started to go even after doing a full clean etc so decided to purchase a corded hoover for a change.
There are 3 people in my house with various lengths of hair, 1 cat and 1 very large furry dog. I was horrfied at the amount of hair/ dust and everything else my new hoover managed to collect within a 10 minute period.
I hoovered every day with my old cordless and thought it always did a really good job. Even a week later, I am still amazed at how much the new hoover is collecting
The lead is nice and long so I only need to change plug sockets when doing the upper floor of my house. The lift way function is great for stairs, the unit isn’t too heavy and can do the full stairway easily.
The suction is really powerful, but it has a handy function where you can set it to however strong you would like it.
I will never go back to a cordless hoover, if you are thinking about buying this hoover – do it!
I bought this on half price offer but it would be worth the full price. So much lighter and more compact than my old hoover. The long lead is sufficient to work over a large area without getting in the way. The hoover is light weight and I like the swivel head turning corners without lifting from the floor. The suction is excellent, easier to push on minimum but still an excellent clean. Was amazed the amount of dirt it brought up even though the floor didn’t visibly look like it was needing hoovering. Would definitely recommend this even at full price.
I took my time choosing my next vacuum, and when this (NZ690UKTSB) went on sale (169) I decided to order.
Easy to assemble, suction power very good, and looks smart. Lots of add-ons with this model for the car, but might prove useful for cleaning out other hard to reach areas. Did very well on both carpets and hard flooring, picked up an amazing amount of dust.
A breeze to use, got my carpets done in half the time compared to my old Henry, and so much less effort. Also emptying is very straightforward. I hope it proves robust and reliable.
Thanks Shark!
We received our Shark vac yesterday and I put it through its paces. I had assumed our house was clean but this machine dredged dust deep out of the carpet that I had no idea was there. It was like fine sand which was astonishing. I hadn’t realised how dusty our carpets were and I’d only just shampooed them! It is so powerful it almost lifts the carpet off the floor!
We also have two dogs that shed. Some vacs don’t always pick up the hairs but this machine did no bother.
Other points I like are it comes packed in card and paper. All fully recyclable packaging which is fantastic. Other manufacturers have a lot to learn from Shark in this regard!
The Vac comes with a 5 year warranty which is unusual for most manufacturers and is a definite vote of confidence for the quality. Was easy to register from a QR code in the booklet.
Product build is good. Plastics are solid. The unit when running is quiet. The whole vac is light and manoeuvrable. Includes a light on the front for ease to see into dark corners. All good features. Also easy to assemble without tools (just clips together)
My only slight criticism is the cord isn’t retractable but in fairness those mechanisms do break easily from experience. It also comes with three decent tools but no onboard places to clip these so need to be stored separately.
Overall though on first impression this machine is pretty good and the power is immense!!
It’s smaller than the last upright I had and a little lighter but still packs a powerful punch on suction. Easy to assemble with a bit of thought and looks nice. There is nothing quite like seeing all the nasty stuff it’s picked up and feeling relieved it isn’t still in your carpet and on your floors. The high suction mode is so powerful the hoover is hard to move on deep carpets but luckily you can use a minimum setting too. The flexible little head makes it easy to manoeuvre in tighter spaces or around corners. My only complaint is that the power lead can sometimes get in the way, so I have to hook it around my shoulder, also the power switch of the suction setting is on the handle, meaning that I sometimes knock it accidentally. I’m doing it less now that I am more used to it so I guess you get used to it. All in all I’m happy with my purchase and I think it’s really good value for money.
