This small but very powerful torch is excellent totally above what I was expecting, such a great price for a powerful tool And a great addition to any kitchen. I would highly recommend.
Super wee thing, very reliable ignition and build quality feels OK. Be warned that many components are plastic so you wouldn’t leave this on for extended periods.
Loses a star because it’s too easy to overfill, which leads to a massive flamethrower situation until the gas level drops a bit. Other than that great. Fills reliably and easily from a butane can and a full fill up probably would last for about 10 to 15 minutes constant flame
Of course pretty much anything brand new will garner positive reviews, but in reality a thing needs to be owned at least a year before any review can have any value be it positive or negative.
That all said, my gas torch arrived in a sturdy cardboard box (usually a good sign of quality) and after a brief glance at the instructions I filled it with gas.
It does everything that it claims to do and so it should, it’s brand new! My only concern is the piezo electric igniter, these have a terrible reputation for giving up the ghost with no warning whatsoever and often as not consign the product straight to the bin. If after one year of use the thing still lights then I would say that it was a good purchase. If not, then I would never buy anything from this manufacturer ever again.
See you next April 😉
The Amazon entry for this gas gun states: “For added safety and reassurance, our torches always ship WITHOUT BUTANE GAS!”. Mine came full of gas (cannot say if it was butane or not). I pressed a button hard and 4 inches of flame came out of the other end. No warnings – or any useful instructions about filling with gas. I assumed it would arrive inert and would only be capable of causing a burn -or a house fire – after being filled. I was wrong – it arrived ready to go. And with no practical use or refill warnings / instructions. So – nothing wrong with the product, lots wrong with the people selling it. There are various videos on YouTube explaining guns like this, ranging from drunken to competent, but after viewing several I now understand how to fill and use it. Amazon should as a minimum change the description to “MAY BE FULL OF GAS” and “PRODUCES FLAME STRAIGHT FROM BOX”.
