Personally I don’t think these spot patches actually help get rid of the spot any faster, my son didn’t notice his spot improve at all. But, he did appreciate having a way to cover it up. Even though the star is still a very obvious thing on your face, it looks less unsightly than the spot lol.
I done know if I would buy these regularly for him, he tends to just leave it if he has a spot and lets it heal. But he does use them if he is going out with his friends and feels a tad self-conscious. So on that note I would recommend.
Nice, thick patches that stay put.
I usually put them on in an evening, after my usual skincare routine.
More than anything, I find they protect and stop spots in their tracks and also prevent picking / spreading.
I didn’t notice a different in spot reduction overnight, maybe slightly less angry.
These aren’t an overnight cure but they definitely speed up the process of curing spots. The active ingredients involved are fairly standard ones but this is a fun way of applying them. adhesion is not bad though the tips of the stars can curl up a bit. Making sure your skin is clean and not greasy before applying them will help them stick but they do stay on all night.
As long as you don’t set your expectations unreasonably high these are fine. You won’t wake up after the first night with skin like porcelain but they will certainly help spots go more quickly.
hese patches are opaque, so they will be visible on the skin. each page of stars comes sealed in it’s own packet which I liked because it keeps them from sticking together and protected them inside the packet they arrive in. I did see in other reviews that there was some problems with adhesion and found a similar problem. the centre of the stars has no problem sticking, but the edges of the spokes can be a little fiddly – though this problem can be mitigated by using a pair of tweezers and a larger sticker.
I am unsure if there is a difference between the green and blue stars beyond just aesthetics, but they definitely smell like tea tree so I’m optimistic they’ll do their job!
** adding onto this review because I also decided to try their larger, transparent patches to see if they were any better in terms of adhesion and found that the best way to guarantee they adhere to the skin as much as possible was to ensure the skin was as dry as possible beforehand. skin is flexible and moves a lot, so I think there will always be some lifting around the edges possibly as a result of how thick they are. overall they aren’t bad. I will use them again!
These acne stars are easy to apply, they stay on all night long as well. When I went to bed my spots were red and angry looking but they were definitely less red in the morning after I’d had them on all night. They aren’t a miracle cure but they do help and you can tell.
These seem to be a more gentle set of patches, which is great, unless you my daughter who now want to “nuke” the big one that is bothering her.
She tells me this works fine on smaller ones, but seems to struggle with the more determined spots.
So it does work, it just not aggressive as some might be, and that is great, because sometimes you may only want to have a more gentle method of managing spots.
