This is one of the sturdiest writing tablets I’ve seen. It feels very strong and robust.
It’s shaped like a spaceman and comes with a flagpole with a choice of 6 flags to stick on it, I chose the UK one.
It also comes with 2 spare batteries, lanyard, extra pen, small screwdriver and 2 pencil covers. An impressive amount of extras.
You’ll need to unlock it, on the back so you can clear the screen.
The pen hooks nicely in the side and if the lanyard is attached it’s even more secure.
The colours going down the tablet are really bright and colourful.
An excellent tablet with lots of extras.
I requested this for my 4 year old grandson who has been using an iPad for at least 2 years. I wanted something that would encourage fine motor skills and creativity via holding a pencil (stylus), rather than a finger.
Positives: well packaged with comprehensive instructions regarding use, maintenance and safety. A good sized drawing area. I like the accessories; including a spare stylus, a spare battery and even a tiny screwdriver to replace the battery. I very much like that children are unable to access the lithium battery once it’s installed. There is an on/off switch on the back, demonstrated with a closed and open lock symbol. Once it’s turned off, the picture/writing will remain in place. Once it’s switched back on, the screen can be wiped by pressing the huge eraser button at the top of the pad. The screen provides a wealth of opportunities for an adult and child to practise creating numbers and letters.
Negatives: This product has a lot going for it but the major issue for me is the lack of colour on the screen. I’ve sat here for a while trying to recreate the image in the description but I just can’t do it. Granted my artistic skills are rubbish but whatever I draw, I can’t get any proper colours. For this reason, I’m not sure that this will hold a child’s attention for very long and is definitely best suited to adult/child learning activities in my opinion. I’m not sure what the purpose of the flags is. The eraser button is huge in comparison to the screen.
The manufacturer has tried really hard to create an appealing product and it’s a shame that the screen is so limited in versatility. My personal recommendation is that it’s a great item for learning numbers/letters etc but not great as an independent drawing activity.
