I’m unable as yet to test this fully since I’m not in Aus until later this year. However, the adapter is solid and well made. The UK sockets accept UK plugs as smoothly as they should, as do the two shaver sockets. It is CE marked so should be electrically safe. And it’s really handy to have 3 USB charging sockets.
The housing of the unit is sturdy and the unit feels well assembled. (the plastic doesn’t feel like something that will break easily)
There are two type G (UK) socket points on the front, two shaver outlets on the bottom and three
USB type A sockets on the top.
The max amp load of this unit is 13amp. The USB output is 2.4A max per port.
I have tested the type I plug socket and it does fit perfectly in to the socket. I have to say since it uses a type C outlay (Aus, NZ & China) it doesn’t have the same firmness of a type G when plugged into a socket.
The unit is a bit thicker than I would prefer but this is because of the type G earth safety lock.
Anyone that is travelling to a region with type C sockets and requires their electrical items that use a type G socket this is a good purchase.
At 15.99 (14.39 current special) this is a worthwhile purchase for travelling.
I recently purchased this plug adapter for our recent holiday. Not only does it efficiently convert the UK plug to fit Australian outlets, but the addition of 3 USB ports is a lifesaver. The charging speed is impressive, and the dual 2-pin socket at the bottom allows me to charge multiple devices simultaneously without needing numerous adaptors. The compact design is perfect for on-the-go, and at 14.39, it’s reasonably priced. I’m hoping it maintains its quality in the long run, but for now, I recommend it.
This adapter is small and compact so won’t take up much space in luggage. Ideal for travelling. It seems sturdy and durable and charges pretty quickly so it is very practical. A good price too, so great value for money.
This is great. Has so many options it is probably the only adapter you’ll need in Aus/NZ.
3 USB A, 2 UK sockets and 2 US/Aus/Shavers type sockets is great.
I haven’t plugged 7 things in at once to check the load capacity. But I’d also suggest it may not be able to physically support this as the weight may be too much for the Aus/NZ style of plug whilst in the wall.
Just a note, sometimes I find in Aus/NZ the sockets are in the skirting board so if a charger has ports on the bottom these can’t be used. I find similar issues sometimes even if the socket isn’t in the skirting board. On some units, say in hotels, due to the positioning of the sockets it is impossible to even plug my UK plug in as the cord has no place to go.
Despite not using this yet, we had one from this company for France to UK plugs and with us going to Australia later this year, we have instantly decided on getting the same plug system for when we go out.
Expecting the same conditons from the France plug, this is pretty much an all in one charger that does have one drawback which is covered below.
There is three USB charging ports on the top but this plug from them will not fast charge so you will need to take a plug with you to enable this through that option. The USB charge ports are only for low drawing appliances so make sure you go with your original plug to be on the safe side.
There are also two shaver sockets on the bottom and the 2 UK plugs, so basically you don’t need to take anything else when you travel.
I saw this and thought, tick, solves all my electrical power and charging when going down… under for Sydney Pride next month.
Does not convert voltage. 220v
I can plug this into a Single Aussie Socket type I and get super charged into two UK type G plugs, two EU two pin C type for shavers and Toothbrushes, and three USBa sockets under bottom.
A USB’C or two would have come in very handy… so will use USB’A to USB’C adaptors or can plug phone USB’C chargers into the type G sockets.
One plug with seven socket holes to be fully filled during the festive mardi gras season.
All my previous going down under, I never had enough holes for all the party time socket holes.
Now is the time to start planning all your gadgets and toys for your mardi gras drag bag.
This adapter is extremely useful for travel to Australia (and other countries that use the Type I plug like New Zealand and China).
The plug adapts the plug to a 2 UK sockets and 3 USB A sockets (up to 2.4A each) which saves the hassle of carrying around multiple chargers. Also included are 2 shaver sockets which could be useful for shavers and some toothbrushes.
The design of the adapter is solid with strong plastic housing that should survive trips abroad. The only concern I have is the offset of the plug at the back, but after testing it with an Australian extension lead at home it doesn’t seem to cause any problems.
The MSCIEN travel adapter arrived well packaged and presented. The item is made of hard moulded plastic which shows it will be quite tough and robust. This item is really good quality from the design and finish. The adapter is made with practicality in mind with the adapter offsetting to the left to allow other plug sockets to be used on the right hand side.
My first impressions are the product is great and is exactly what you would want to inspire confidence in travel adapters, especially when travelling to Australia. The plug has 3 USB ports on top, 2 3 pin plugs on the front and also 2 2 pin plugs on the bottom, making this the perfect travel accessory.
The plug adapter is very practical as it reduces the need to bring multiple plugs with you on your travels. The 3 usb plugs on top are conveniently located for charging phones, watches and powering anything USB powered. The additional sockets are a nice touch, with the 2 sockets on the phase support plugs from the UK, Hong kong, malaysia etc and then the bottom 2 type C/E/F support standard 2 round ping connections from across the world.
I look forward to using this plug on my travels to Australia later this year.
I travel to China at least once a year and got this primarily for use in hotels in mainland China. A few hotels have USB-A sockets but most still have either type A or type Ielectric sockets. Some have type A at the top and type I at the bottom, but it’s still a lottery. This adapter is type I only (ie the male plug-in is type I) and I’d have preferred to have both, but it does provide two UK sockets with three USB-A ports on the top (again, an additional USB-C port would have been good) and two shaver outlets on the bottom.
I do use USB-A charging cables, so if my hotel room has type I sockets then this adapter will be invaluable.
