This is quite a large mixer so not the lightest . Bowl is very large but light so ideal for bread making maybe too big for everyday cake making . Nice quiet machine and the suction feet are so secure on the worktop there’s no movement 10/10 overall
Works great only made a 11in Christmas cake and it had no problem my old K W was a great product it did last 50 years hope this will do the same.
Using it for more then a year now for Indian style dough on daily basis. Quite good product, last one broke down in a year so purchased extra warranty but going good so far. Still looks new and works perfectly fine. 5 stars
Very pleased with the mixer, allows me to make double the amount that I need, so I can do things quicker, the machine isn’t too loud and easy to clean, definitely considering buying another one for my business
Bought this for my wife, looked at the kitchen aid range, Wow, how much? Ummmmm?
So reading reviews & scrutinising prices I plumped for this one.
My wife loves it, large bowl, various speeds, good set of different mixing beaters, a few minor niggles, like the fact that the bowls plastic lid is just located onto the mixer body with rubber lugs, then easily slips off, bowl does not rotate, and you have at times got to scrap ingredients off the bowls side to incorporate them into your mixture.
Whether or not this is common for all this type of mixer?
But on the whole, does what it does well, very good mixer can’t grumble for outlay.
As a professional chef starting my own little bakery business, this has been instrumental in what I’ve been doing. I’ve used it constantly for 3 months now, making pastry’s, breads, meringue etc and it hasn’t missed a beat! Easy to clean with a generous size mixing bowl!! A couple of reviews complained about having to scrape down the side of the bowl, I’ve not used a mixer where you didn’t have to! Proberly have to do less with this. The suction cups on the bottom are great at keeping it in place
Yes it has some limitations, but that’s down to over filling the mixing bowl…for the money, you can’t go wrong!!
I looked at loads of mixers when trying to choose.
I wanted something robust for mixing bread dough. This is doing the job well, it’s a quality item, really sturdy and has strong suction so it doesn’t move when in use. I’ve made cake mix too so far and it did the job well. No way I could consider 500 for a mixer this was less than 100 and still looks good on the counter. It is big so do check the measurements you wouldn’t want to be moving it in/out of cupboards.
Coming from a 7 year old Tefal mixer, this thing is a joy to use.
First things first – the good:
– this is fairly light, so is easy to put away and get back out
– the suction cups underneath are crazy good…it does not move an inch
– it’s pretty low on the ‘noise’ side of things. You couldn’t have a conversation with my old mixer going, but this is much quieter which is nice
– the included attachments seem good quality. Can’t speak to the long term durability though
– the bowl size is huge. I could easily mix enough cake batter in one go for an 8 layer cake if I wanted to
– the splash guard is good and fits well
Now for the ‘not so good…but not bad’:
– others have mentioned that the attachments don’t go all the way to the bottom (or sides). This is true. Although this means the bowl won’t get scratched, it also means you’re left with more unmixed ingredients than I’d like. The gap could easily be less, however at this price range I feel this is acceptable
– the hinge / release mechanism is a little…crunchy. The point where it locks makes an awful clunky, crunchy noise. I’m sure it’s fine, but it did take me by surprise
Overall I’m really happy with this mixer. Any “issues” other commenters have mentioned are likely down to the price bracket this mixer falls into. If this was the price of a KitchenAid then their issues would be valid, but not at the price this mixer is.
My small mixer which I’ve had over 7 years bowl broke, when I saw the price to replace the bowl and saw the price of the Vospeed mixer I chose the mixer. It is easy to operate and use it mixes ingredients well and is easy to clean. Only drawback is the machine and parts are quite light in weight but hope it will give me many years of service. RJ
