This little heater is worth it’s weight in gold. It has topped up my heating and made my winter bearable in my cold lounge and it is very economical to use

his fire came as advertised. suitable for one person. efficient & economical. Halogen energy focuses the heat well for one person without having to heat up the whole room, quite warm even when on the two lower settings of 400w &800w. the swing feature is a bit redundant if used for one person. Quite straight forward to assemble.

First time I’ve had one of these heaters, and to be fair, it does warm up quickly, don’t know how long it will last……and – it does feel a little flimsy and light, I can see it being knocked over easily as the base doesn’t feel heavy enough to me……and it’s BRIGHT!!!!!! so much so it is lights a room up. But yeh, so far it has done the job required.

I bought this in May and put it away for the winter months. During this cold spell, I installed it. The bar came on slowly and is hot but there’s no glowing background. It’s too late to return it now, but I can still use it.

Golden Review Award: 21 From Our UsersCheap to use. Gives off a a nice bright glow as well as heat. You can move it about but I found on a previous one that one of the bars stopped working when I did. Cat likes it!

4.0 out of 5 stars Cheap to use

Lovely brilliant glow and heat during the depths of winter. Put it away during the summer. All 3 bars will certainly throw out enough heat to heat up 2 people sat in front of it on the sofa but don’t expect the room temperature to warm up particularly when using it. For that – use a convection heater.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersOverall very happy, gives instant heat – 1 – 2 – 3 bars i find 2 bars used at once will warm up a medium size room nicely within a few mins – as with all of these type of devices i don’t know how long the bulbs will last but give me a good saving on heating the whole house, its worth noting that the bulbs are quite bright so it saves on lighting as well! – I don’t use the rotate much so cannot comment on that really – there is some assembly required and if u want to store over summer keep the box

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThe heater provides a warm light which in itself is comforting but the transmission of heat when in a large room is not great. The heater would serve a small room, 10 to 12 feet very well and having three heat elements, each consuming 400 Watts, allows good control of the heat and amount of electricity consumed. The power cable is about a meter in length which does not allow the heater to be moved very far from the plug socket. The heater itself is very light weight but sited carefully and used carefully it serves the purpose it was bought for.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersNot enormously powerful (total 1.2KW with all bars on), but does give good localised heat when you don’t need to heat the whole room. For heating larger spaces, electric heating is (at time of writing) the least cost-effective.

As other reviews have said, the heaing elements are prone to failure, though, and replacements aren’t as easy to find as they should be.

Golden Review Award: 7 From Our UsersDelighted with this for fast heating of cold livingroom when heating hasn’t got up to speed. I have M E, and get up at random times, so it’s hard to get the place warm at the right times on a mechanical timer, this fills in the gap rapidly, and really helps with management of my condition, as being cold does not help at all and I used to have to stay in bed even longer to wait till it was warm enough for me. Such a simple solution, should have bought it years ago!

Easy enough set-up, pressing the buttons soon shows you what they each do, and I rather like the revolving function once my little spot with chair and dog has got warm. 3 levels of heat, and it also gives a lovely golden glow. I’m imagining making toast in front of it too!

It’s much smaller and lighter than I expected which makes it great for hiding behind the sofa and easy extraction- needless to say don’t put it anywhere near the sofa or anything else until it is cooled down!!! It has a security switch underneath which only allows it to work when on a level horizontal surface. I put mine on a level stool so that i get the heat at body level instead of feet and legs. Just right, and what a bargain! Even the replacement bulbs seem reasonably priced- can’t go wrong with this, unless, of course, it goes wrong.

I actually only bought it as emergency back up after 3 threats to gas supply in recent months made me worry about having a backup just in case. But this immediately proved far more useful and improved my quality of life.

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersIt arrived very quickly, in good packaging and good conditions. So 5* to the supplier.

The product itself is inline with what you would expect from a heater at this price point. It’s rather light-weight and feels a bit flimsy but does the job. The research I did before buying indicates that most halogen heaters suffer from failed heating tubes at some point. I’ve only had this for a few days, and not used extensively, so not sure how long it will last, but I’m kind of prepared to order a set of tubes once the first one gives in.

Overall, not a bad product if you are looking for an inexpensive ‘extra’. If you intend to use it on a regular basis, and as primary heater, might be worth looking at something bigger & better.
