Highly recommend am sleeping much better. Neighbour still noisy but now with my little machine no problem. Various sounds to choose from and a relaxing light. However does not come with plug just the lead. Great value highly recommend.
Great for helping me get to sleep. 30 different sounds, not all of them are great but more than enough choice. The buttons are placed really well for turning on the sounds and the light when the room is dark, as you can feel both buttons at each end. I bought the wood effect one as I thought the others looked a bit cheap and plastic and it does look really good. USB plug which was fine by me as I have them in my plug sockets. Would I buy again? … Definitely!
I used to leave the TV on a certain channel that played fan noise but it started getting ad breaks
so 3am I would be woken up impossible to go back to sleep.
The volume is perfect, I plug it directly into the steam deck by my bed and its almost the same noise
so far really pleased, I need some type of noise like this to help me sleep.
I was using Spotify and piping it through my amp at night for white noise – and figured I’m probably spending a small fortune in electricity, so decided to look into one of these types of devices.
I can say it’s well worth the punt. There’s more than enough sounds so depends on what you like to sleep with (white noise for me!) – with white noise, waves, rain, birdsong, ambient music, train tracks and fire (some – like rain and white noise – have a few ‘types’ to play with). Volume control is excellent – easily loud enough. Timer function is handy with 1-4 hour cut off, or infinite. The light is nice – I won’t use it but can understand why some would like it – especially small children.
The only tiny, tiny criticism I have is the birdsong is too short – the loop is obvious and unfortunately it grows repetitive very quickly.
Other than that – it’s brilliant.
I live in a flat on a busy main road where there’s always plenty of noise going on (inside and outside). From constant heavy traffic, to noisy neighbours, drunks walking past, etc.
I’ve used foam ear plugs for the past 30 years for sleeping. They’re pretty good, albeit they do not eliminate noise completely. I’m a very light sleeper and very sensitive to any kind of noise.
I’ve only recently become aware of white noise machines. I never knew such gadgets existed until I saw one on a tv program. I was quite sceptical at first that this would be any good to me. Did a bit of research, and it was only 20 so I thought I’d give it a go. I’m glad I did!
I use it at night in conjunction with my ear plugs. At the moment at night I’ve been setting it to stop after 2 hours. I’m finding this very good. I quickly drop off to sleep, and wake up in the morning fully refreshed.
I did a little test the other day. I turned on the white noise machine to the brown noise mode and lay down on my bed without ear plugs in, just to see if I could hear the traffic from outside my bedroom window, (normally I would hear traffic going past, even with ear plugs in). But I couldn’t hear anything apart from the brown noise. The machine was completely drowning out the noise of the traffic. So when I use it to sleep accompanied with my ear plugs, it is VERY effective indeed!
I didn’t need to read the manual. It’s very very easy to operate and is all self explanatory.
The volume on the 25 different noise modes can be adjusted to suit. The light function has a few different brightness levels. Even so, my only criticism would be you can’t read a book due to the light function not being bright enough. I didn’t buy it for that purpose, and I have a lamp. So I’m very happy thus far!
Works like a dream for when I can’t sleep due to that horrible noise in my ears! Plus if I can’t sleep just due to insomnia, it’s handy for that too! I like how you can put the different noises on and then have it shut off after say an hour or so! Very cool
Lots of different sound choices so likely to find one that works for you and your baby. The unit is easy to use and self explanatory in terms of the buttons. Appears to be fairly robust. Have only just started using the machine with our young baby, but she had her best night of sleep when we put this on.
We found it hard to get a ‘soft’ white noise machine as many sounded too harsh/loud, but this had a good variety to choose from, along with other sounds. The options are great – volume control, how long to play for etc. The reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was although it’s great when you press the memory button to store your selected settings for when you next turn it on, it would be useful to make sure it would remember the settings for what you’ve pressed it for only! Example – I’ll set it to what I want, press memory button and it will store for when I next turn it on BUT should my little one change settings without pressing memory button after, when I next turn on it will go to what ever my little one changed it to!
All in all though a great purchase. I would highly recommend!
I don’t normally write reviews but I felt this product deserves one. I was skeptical upon purchasing and of course I can’t speak for the longevity of the product as I’ve only had it a few days, but so far it has greatly improved my life.
I’ve lived with noisy, nasty, and violent next door neighbors for years now and every day at work I dread coming home as I know I’ll get no peace. It was affecting my sleep, my happiness and I was on the brink of moving somewhere else (I probably still will but now it’s less urgent).
This device is simple. It plays a constant noise (many to choose from) that can be used to drown out unwanted sound. It had a nice lamp and a timer function. I didn’t think it would have much effect as next door can reach incredible volumes, but now as soon as I get in from work I pop this device on and adjust the volume to the point where I cannot hear them anymore. The 3 days that I’ve used it I have been happier, more calm, at peace and generally have had much nicer evenings.
It won’t be for everyone. The noise that it produces can be changed to fit your needs (I use the default ‘brown noise’ sound) however many people won’t want to have noise playing constantly. But for me and hopefully others, it offers a soothing effect and I even have it on during the rare moments of quiet because I find it helps me relax but also focus when necessary.
If you have to put up with noise nuisances I really feel for you and recommend you at least try this device as you can always return it if it doesnt help, or if not then some brown noise over a speaker would probably work too. It might not work as well for anyone with upstairs neighbors as that noise can be more bassy but for people talking loudly/shouting outside and music I find it works great.
Hopefully it lasts a long time.
