The box looks smart albeit a little difficult to open. We are new to this type of car keys so we now have to get into the habit of placing the keys in to the box when not in use
Stick two fingers up at the scum that steal cars with this box & two pouches. One for spare key at home & one to carry in car for when you’re out & car’s parked outside. Peace of mind, love it!
All seems good pleased with the purchase not had time to check how well if protects but if looks and quality are good I guess the protection should be too.
Tried a key in the box and key in the pouch stood next to the car and nothing happened when pressing the door buttons so definitely blocks the signal looks good would recommend
The box looks good with capacity to hold plenty of keys. Likewise, the two individual cases are pleasing on the eye and allow individual keys to be stored or transported.
We use the cases for the car keys we use everyday and the box for our spares
Good look and feel to it. I tested the box with the key in it standing right next to the driver’s door. No reaction from the car, mirrors remained folded. Slowly opened the box, the moment there was the slightest gap between box and lid the mirrors opened and the car was ready. The pouches exactly the same. Very happy with this, good value. Keys for 2 cars now live in the box, spares for each car in pouches. There are 2 pouches included which fit one key each.
The little lanyard that is fixed to the pouch succeeded in tangling my key fob inside the pouch and I had to cut it out. Not sure what the point of it is and now I will never find out. The box seems to make a good job of blocking the phone signal even when up close.
Having previously bought faraday pouches which failed very soon after purchase, I made sure that I tested both the box and pouches in this purchase very thoroughly. I have tested both pouches with two keys and they work fine and totally block the signal. Also tested the box with the two keys and also with my mobile phone and I confirm that nothing gets through.
The box is smart enough to sit on the side on my hallway and not look out of place.
Very pleased with the purchase and feeling very confident that my car is secure.
This is a great bit of kit. I have tested the car key Faraday bags, and they work. (My Disklabs Faraday Bag which I bought 3 years ago was starting to fail, and you could unlock the car with the key still in the Faraday bag). These car key Faraday bags are a nice size and not too big. Another plus is that the keys are easily detachable when using the clip. I also like the size of the box, which I tested and am pleased to say it works. The blocking cards have gone into my wallet.
The video goes into much more detail, including a signal test.
However, in a nutshell:
Things I liked:
+ Blocking works pretty well. Should be noted that it doesn’t completely block out the signal but it does a very good job of deadening it at a distance of around about a metre. See the video for the test to demonstrate this.
+ Plenty included for your money, including the pouches and card blockers. As long as you want these things, 17 seems like good value. If you don’t want them, 17 is a little bit much for the box on its own.
Things I didn’t like:
– Signal blocking works as only as long as you are not right next to the box. Bear that in mind when you are thinking about where to position the box. If you put it right next to your door, a thief who is right next to the other side of the door might be able to gain access to your key signal, so make sure you put it at least a metre away from the door.
Do I recommend it?
Yes. it looks fine and is a fairly decent RFID blocking box, although bear in mind the slight limitations I’ve described above.
Keeps my keys safe and locked when not needed. Brilliant to use and does what it supposed too! Also comes with 2 of pouches so double layer of protection and peace of mind
Great that the bundle includes 2 pouches, 2 card protectors and the box. All seem well made and defo work. Treat without abuse and I suspect the box and pouches will last some time.
Would highly recommend this box put keys in and tried it near the car locks would not open you fell double safe with the little pouches you get with it very good buy with confidence
All our cars are keyless so investing in a Farady box seemed a good idea. This is a nice quality box that looks good sitting on the side. It easily takes car fobs, phones, etc., but the mobile pouches are a great feature for when you’re out and about. I tested my car keys in the box and pouches and they worked perfectly (or should I say, they didn’t work, which was exactly what should have happened!).
I found the lid extremely snug – I guess you need that to stop the signals – but it does mean you need two hands to open and close the box. Whether this will ease in the future, time will tell. I’ve not seen the blocking cards before, but what a great idea. I’ve not had chance to trial these as at writing this review.
The photos supplied by the vendor reflect the product I received and the red stitching does look quite jazzy! Overall I’m very happy with with Faraday Box and pouches and I’m happy to recommend.
