The braded finish on these feels great. The cable is supple and bendy without feeling weak or likely to break. They will charge devices rapidly that I’ve tried with them, and provide data connectivity as well.
Hard to assess durability so early on, but these feel like they’ll provide a decent lifetime.
Great pair of cables.
Good quality cable at a good price. The larger diameter cable indicates thicker (higher current carrying with less voltage drop) conductors and a more durable exterior sheath. Tested up to 20 watts and it performed perfectly. I would definitely recommend these cables.
ANMIEL 240W USB C to USB C Cable (2Pack-2M) USB C Charger Cable – Review
These have a similar design to the OEM cables included with the iPhone 15. They have a slight braid to them. The cables feel durable and are a good length at 2M. They were able to fast charge my OnePlus smartphone at 65 watts so they can support plenty of power. I wasn’t able to test them up to the claimed 240 watts of power though.
For 11.99, at the time of reviewing. These cables offer fair value. However, if you don’t mind losing the Apple-like design there are similar-priced cables with better-braided cables and metal connector housings. Those are worth a consideration.
The cables feel of good quality with durable outer sheaths. Tested with some Samsung phones (S10, S21) got around 9.3V at 1.6A charge rates from my power bank which is around as quick as these phones can go, I don’t see that often with cheaper cables and especially not on 2M long ones.
So yes they do perform well, are they worth the price? quite possibly – if they prove to be durable. USB cables often ‘wear’ over time with flexing and stretching damage resulting in higher impedance spots that smart chargers sense and consequentially start reducing charging rates. If these keep up good charge rates for a long time, then they are absolutely worth the price. Time will tell.
This USB C -USB C cable comes in standard packaging, but with friendly (if badly translated) text on the back. This doesn’t affect the product, but their claim of “high quality” is undermined by not having it proof read by a native English speaker.
There are two cables provided, they are braided and secured with a plastic grip. The braiding is not coarse and feels nice to hold. It is quite a long cable, so to help this, each has a velcro cable tidy attached.
There are no markings or brandings on the cable. I always like to have this so I either know who to blame if it fails, or who to praise if it doesn’t. The packaging isn’t hugely helpful and doesn’t say what the product is, but I can see it through the window.
So let’s use it.
Test 1: Does it connect?
I don’t have a USB C charger at hand, so I’ll use an adapter. Pass! It plugs in to the adapter and phone nicely, and stays in there snuggly.
Test 2: Does it charge? Pass! I’m getting just shy of 5W through, which is what I expect.
Test 3: Does it “High speed data line”? I pushed 50MB of photos through it in a few seconds, which is high speed enough.
Overall, simple and certainly does the job. It feels like it could last, and doesn’t appear flimsy. Let’s see how it goes!
