This is pretty comfortable to wear and, although I’ve only used it for walking, can see how others could comfortably run with it on. It’s not the lightest bit of kit, though it’s not heavy either. Certainly at this price point the weight is fine. And that’s the thing, really – sure, there are lighter, svelter options out there, but at a cost. This is hard not to like for simple value for money.
I like to run and hike so for anything long distance I need a pack. I’ve used this several times and I have no complaints. Has enough space to accommodate some food and a couple of extra layers. I was out for 4 hours running and no chaffing at all although the straps around my shoulder did bounce when i was wearing just a tshirt but didn’t annoy me. Perfect rucksack
I use this rucksack to carry my dog’s water when we run together. It is a lightweight but sturdy bag, looks smart in orange and is very comfy to wear.
Although the pipe it comes with can only be activated by sucking it, which obviously doesn’t work if you’re a dog, you can easily unscrew the large “lid” and tip water out that way.
I also really love the amount of extra pockets and clever storage solutions.
I can have my phone and keys close to hand in pockets situated on the strap going around hips/waist.
There is room for my light running jacket on the back, under the elastic strapping, and with 2 litres on board, there is enough water for both my dog and I.
At 30 this running water backpack is excellent value and I am happy to recommend.
For 26.99 at the time of review, this is outstanding value for money, given the quality and features included.
I have been looking for some smaller and more rigid than my current hydration backpack — which this ticks the boxes for. But what has blown me away is the insulated/reflective backing inside, and the insulated tube, and the quality and feel of the bag all together.
I’ve paid much more for my previous bag, and because of all the pockets and pull string front — this somehow will hold even more.
The material, stitching and zips are impeccable for the price.
The next hike we determine how comfy it is. I will update my review if it turns out this is its downfall. The padded storage along the lower chest straps means I expect this to be more than fine.
This is a very good Hydration back pack, the material and build quality is top notch, I’ve found it very comfortable to wear even with 2ltrs of water inside. the water bag doesn’t cause and back issues as it’s held very well in the pack. all in all easy to use and will order another for my son.
I’ve got a hydration pack from the market leader in this area which I really like. I wanted to get this for my children (both Scouts) to use.
This has clearly been built to the pattern of its more famous cousin and replicates a lot of their features; quick connection hoses, large filling cap etc. It even goes a little further in some areas; the thermal insulation will keep your water colder for longer on a warm day.
The slight let down is the back “vent” arrangement. This is made of several pads rather than a curved frame to keep the bag away from your back. If it had followed that design I might have given it the extra star.
As it is, this is fine for my children to use on Scout walks, and at the price I am not too concerned about it taking a beating.
This is a very good hydration back pack with an excellent bladder. There are several excellent design features making this almost ideal for long runs. It had a reflective insulated bladder compartment, which should help keep the fluid in the bladder cool on hot days. On the rear is a long zip pocket, with inner storage flap, another zip pocket and outside mesh pocket, plus the usual bungees which are typically used to hold a bed roll or sleeping bag. There are a further two zipped pockets on the waist strap, plus two buckles, one of which doubles as a whistle.
The bladder is very well designed, with a single inner compartment, and easily detachable tube which is covered. It has a good on/off value with bite teat, and the bag has a very large filling cap. It’s quantity labelled and will accept up to two litres of fluid. This bladder is long and thin, and obviously designed for this specific backpack.
I chose orange as felt that it was most likely to be visible from a distance, and the colour is quite vibrant. The straps are generally good, though the angle down from the shoulders isn’t ideal, attaching at the bottom of the backpack behind the wearers back, rather than straight down the front where the waist strap connects, which would have been better. The Velcro straps to hold the bladder in position are slightly out of alignment with the slots in the bladder, so are a bit fiddly to attach.
But overall it’s a great backpack and bladder, ideal for a runner, and at a sensible price. My wife plans to try it out properly on a 20 miler in the Blackdowns this weekend…
This is a really good hydration backpack that comes with a really good hydration bladder. Genuinely very impressed with both parts that make up this item.
The bag is lightweight but well made with good strong stitching. It has a multitude of storage pockets and compartments and then has the main storage compartment for the bladder which has a foil lining to help keep the liquid in the bladder nice and cool (please see photos of pockets and of main compartment).
There are 2 Velcro straps in the top back of the bag for fixing the bladder in place — you then thread the tube out of either of either point where the should straps are connected to the bag (please see photos). Is recommended to use the left one here though as then can clip the bottom of the pipe in the clip on the right shoulder strap (please see photo) meaning you can have both hands free whilst running, cycling etc and take sips without using hands (once pipe and clip positioned correctly for you.
The bag is really comfortable to wear and as already mentioned has lots of pockets. It has a zip pocket on both side of the lower straps that connect around your lower body / waist — and I can fit my standard sized iphone into these pockets on either side no problem (please see photo). There is then the front storage compartment which within it has 1 zipped and 1 open pocket (per photos). The storage compartment is not that deep but you will be able to fit a light jacket, some food, some gloves and a hat as an example. Then there is the front mesh pocket for keeping other low value items. Handily there is also a drawstring on the front of the bag which can be used to keep everything in the bag tight and from bouncing around.
The pipe push fits to the bladder and to release you just press the button to the side (please see photos). To fill the bladder you just unscrew the big tightener at top middle and fill and resecure. The drinking end of the tube has a dust cover and the part you put in your mouth is soft so is comfortable.
I absolutely recommend this bag and can’t wait for the better weather to arrive so I can start using it on long bike rides and who knows, possible even a long run!
This is a very nice bag – in my experience as good as well known more expensive brands
Nicely constructed with a lined silver inner sleeve for the bladder which fits perfectly
The bladder is very well made and doesn’t leak – water can be filled and drunk easily
The bag has good reinforced construction – sturdy zips and very comfortable padded adjustable straps and back
It has quite a few pockets so you can remove the bladder and use it as a small day hike rucksack or as a small commuting rucksack with enough space for pens book iPad and perhaps a sandwich and drink
Looks good in orange as well
Great price
