Peace of mind for Mum and me
My grandma was hesitant to ditch her old flip phone, but its dwindling signal and tiny buttons were becoming a challenge. The big buttons make this phone incredibly user-friendly for seniors. My grandma can see and press them without squinting, a huge relief for her ageing eyes and clumsy fingers. The dedicated SOS button brings peace of mind. One press sends an alert with her location to pre-programmed contacts, giving her an extra layer of safety and independence. The volume is excellent. No more strained ears trying to hear calls in noisy environments. The menus and icons are straightforward and easy to navigate. The 1800mAh battery capacity ensures a long standby time, reducing the frequency of charging for elderly users. However, the large buttons are great for calls, but typing messages can be a bit clunky. The keys are close together, and smaller font sizes might be tricky for older eyes.
Got this for my elderly mother who cannot cope with a smart phone. Its perfect! It does have text messaging which is pretty easy to use. It’s pretty basic but it does the job. High volume button so it’s really good for the hard of hearing. Would recommend!
Got this for my disabled wife.
It’s easy to use and the display is very clear.
Sadly the battery dies after about 4 hours. So you have to make sure you store, it in the included charge Dock.
This is a basic phone with big buttons and some additional functions such as FM radio, emergency button and a torch, by well known brand ULEWAY. It is designed to be used by elderly or senior people who prefer a simple phone without all the confusion smartphones can create. It also comes with a charging dock, into which you simply slot the phone to recharge which means fewer messy cables cluttering up your desk area.
One of the best features is it has an SOS button, which is great for emergency contact with the persons/authortities you program in. You can program in up to 5 SOS contact numbers and an emergency message. Simply by pressing the call button for 3 seconds it will trigger the SOS function and automatically dial the preset numbers one by one until a call is answered. Very reassuring!
In addition it has 8 speed dial settings, an easy to use operation system, large icons on the menu, large fonts which are easy to read, high volume and high-definition loudspeakers, built-in audio, video, Bluetooth 5.0 , External FM audio, calculator, alarm clock, calendar, and it can store up to 500 phone book entries.
To set up, the 1800mAh large capacity battery and SIM card must first be inserted. The screen displays the time and notifications in a large easy-to-read font. The side has the volume up/down buttons and a torch button. The back has a removable cover under which is the SOS button.
The battery lasts a long time. Its talk time is between 8-10 hours and standby time of around 160 hours (7 days). Even when making calls, sending texts, playing radio, and shining a torch. This is because it does not have all the battery-draining functions such as apps you find on Smartphones.
I chose the big button mobile phone for my elderly mother, and overall, it has been a fantastic choice. The phone’s easy-to-use and large fonts make it incredibly user-friendly for seniors.
The battery life is impressive, lasting more than a week on standby with the included charging dock. The 4G capability provides fast internet access, and the SOS function is a crucial feature for elderly users.
So, why not a full 5-star rating? Well, while the phone offers excellent functionality, it could benefit from a more modern design to appeal to a wider audience. But for its intended purpose as a senior-friendly device, the T190 delivers admirably. Additionally, the user interface could be slightly more intuitive, especially for seniors who are not good with technology.
In conclusion, the T190 big button mobile phone is a reliable and thoughtful choice for seniors, children, and visually impaired individuals. Its features and usability make it a valuable companion for the elderly. I give it 4 stars because of minor room for improvement, but it’s still a highly recommended option for those seeking a user-friendly mobile phone for their loved ones.
It is my mom’s new best friend. Those oversized buttons are a godsend for aging eyes and fumbling fingers. The dedicated SOS button brings peace of mind. One press and she’s connected to pre-programmed contacts, giving us all a sense of security knowing she’s just a button press away from help. The volume boost ensures crystal – clear conversations, even in noisy environments. This phone keeps things simple with essential features like calls, texts, FM radio, and even a flashlight. The impressive 1800mAh long standby battery ensures that the phone stays charged for extended periods, reducing the worry of frequent recharging. This phone is a fantastic tool for elderly people but it is too expensive.
I recently got my hands on the CHAKEYAKE 4G phone, designed with the elderly in mind, and I must say, it’s a gem for anyone looking for simplicity and ease. Here’s my take on it, based on my personal use:
Compact and User-Friendly: The phone, despite its small size, boasts large numbers that are a breeze to see and use. The big buttons are a real game changer, especially for those who find modern smartphones a bit too intricate.
Battery Life is a Plus: The battery life is phenomenal. It lasts ages, and you have the choice of charging it either through a USB cable or its docking station. This flexibility in charging is super convenient.
Loud and Clear: The volume on this phone is impressive. Whether it’s the ringtone or call volume, everything is loud and clear, even without using hands-free. And when you do switch to loudspeaker mode, it’s incredibly loud – perfect for those who struggle with hearing.
SOS Feature – A Lifesaver: The SOS button is easy to program and use. You can set up to five contacts for emergencies, and it’s reassuring to know it’s there, just in case.
Locking and Unlocking – Hassle-Free: Locking and unlocking the phone is straightforward – just two button presses and you’re done. It’s these little things that make it so user-friendly.
Network Compatibility: I’ve been using it with a Three network SIM card, and setup was a breeze. No fuss at all in getting it up and running.
Overall Experience: This phone is light, easy to use, with big numbers and great volume. It’s perfect for calls and text messages. Sure, it’s not for internet browsing or apps, but that’s not what it’s made for. It excels at what it does – providing a simple, efficient communication tool for the elderly.
Final Thoughts: If you’re looking for a phone that’s simple, loud, and user-friendly, especially for someone who might be overwhelmed by a smartphone, this is the one to go for. It keeps things straightforward and does a brilliant job at it.
