A great film that feels more traditional in story compared to more recent releases but the songs are contemporary. Lots of nods to the previous animated films some subtle some more obvious. And this steel book just looks great.

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersSuch an incredible film. Was expecting the usual ‘breaking boundaries’, cute and silly film that Disney normally delivers nowadays (which I like but can be repetitive). I was wrong. I’m a 41yr old mother of 3 children (4,7,11) and we all ADORED this film. My kids emotionally connected with the film, found the funny parts hilarious and are so enamoured with the soundtrack it has been playing on loop throughout the house for a whole week. I liked the old fashioned elements mixed in with the modern. It was noticeable without feeling awkward or wrong. It worked. This film is fun, filled with joy; a parable about toxic control freaks and the resounding power of community in times of hopelessness and despair. And the Star is cuteness itself! We loved it!

Golden Review Award: 4 From Our UsersA lot of people are saying negative things about Wish. But it was a lovely homage to Disney’s 100 years. The animation was beautiful. The story was simple and cute. Characters were great! Songs were catchy. Lots of Disney Easter eggs. It really grows on you.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our UsersIt does seem as if this film has been unfairly targeted by the critics.
They don’t seem to understand how difficult it was to produce a film that was not only a tribute to the Walt Disney legendary animated films over the last 100 years but also was an extraordinary new film pointing to the future.
Obviously this was never going to happen because the most important thing was to pay tribute to the past.
However the film was saved by the wonderful songs written by Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice and the film score.
They were special and the song used for the credits, A Wish worth Making sung by Julia Michaels, was an excellent example of saving the best till last.
That song alone is worth five stars
