Divoom Ditoo Retro Pixel Art Bluetooth Speaker with Programmable RGB Led Screen, Gaming Gadget with Mechanical Keyboard, Also a Smart Alarm Clock (Blue)
got this for my sister for xmas! its cute, its retro, its got a decent speaker… perfect to put on your desk if your working or gaming! super cosy!! obsessed and will get one for myself!
Brilliant little speaker. I am using it as my desktop clock and as a speaker for my meetings. I have this plugged in via usb at all times, I would like to emphasis you need the brightness low to avoid hearing the high frequency sound, which is quite irritable. Otherwise, great product.
Love this so much. It’s so good. The sound is amazing. Way better than I expected. Easy to use. The app for it is really cool and has endless personalisation. You can colour and make your own pixel art. Seems really sturdy. Colour and brightness are good. All around really really impressed
I’m a nerd for retro products, but I’m also an audiophile.
Functionality: The speaker connects easily to devices over bluetooth, has good range, and is easy to switch between devices. It’s easy to use/control with the on device buttons, that allow to pause, control volume, skip/repeat tracks and so on, as well as change the pixel visuals. Also, easy to control from a device. The feel of the app and the visuals are also retro, so might be frustrating for someone who isn’t into this sort of thing. The battery life isn’t terrible but isn’t anything to write home about either – pro is you can use it while it charges (I simply switch to another speaker).
Sound: The audio quality is *just ok*. This evidently was built with a focus on the retro vibe it has, and not meant to compete with premium speakers. The volume can go quite high without getting distorted. The base is a little lacking but this works well for movies/series etc.
You’re getting a really good, and dynamic, playful speaker for this price. It won’t blow your mind with its sound, but you’ll definitely have a lot of fun playing with it.
he battery doesn’t last super long, i don’t find this an issue as i’ve been leaving this plugged all the time, but this little guy can do so much more than i originally thought! and the sound quality is excellent, so i found it well worth the money. plus it’s just so cute. looks lovely in my desk setup 🙂
I have thought about getting one of these for a while. Seeing them in so many insta posts, youtube videos etc really made me want one. I am so glad I finally caved in and got one, its super cute, awesome and totally worth it!
First off the packaging is superb. It comes in this cute little bag with rope handles, inside is container holding the device, push on the side of it and the front door pops open for you to remove the device. Behind the device packaging holder is your manual and stickers.
I found the device easy to set up, I downloaded the app, pressed the power button on the side of the device, connected via bluetooth and that was it ready to go before I wanted to customise it to my own preferences. No manual needed for this part, was so easy to do, the manual is handy for getting in depth on the device and all the features it is capable of.
The ability to customise which display you want is amazing, the app has so many designs to choose from, with new ones getting added everyday. Be aware though that not every design will work on this device, some are designed for the bigger devices, so you just have to find one that works well for you, but as I mentioned, there are loads to choose from, so this won’t be a problem.
Key clicking sounds is such nostalgia with this little device, it reminds me of playing on my old commodore 64, love the sounds the keys make. You will only really use these when playing the mini games on the device or changing the display/turning the volume up and down.
I felt the sound was decent for the size of the device and I was also super impressed some screen designs come with sound. For example, I was using a rain drop design and the sound was of the rain falling. Was so cool!
This device doesn’t have to be an added accessory for your pc table or art table etc, it can be used anywhere. Right now, mine is sitting beside my TV in my living room.
Really recommend it!
This is obviously super cute and aesthetically pleasing. Easy to connect to your phone and there’s loads of designs and settings to play with to personalise it. However the battery life is shocking, only lasts for a couple of hours. Even if its not being used for music or anything it won’t make it through the day without dying
Belying it’s small size this speaker packs an audio punch. Not just loud but very clear as well. No notable noise distortion. The pixel screen is great , nicely vibrant.
The community which has grown up around these devices is amazing so chances are if your not artistic someone else will have created an image or animation that appeals to you. So great build quality, excellent sound, easy to use both on the device itself and via the app. Also comes with a very sturdy travel case Keeping it very protected whilst on travels. Highly recommended
I bought the Divoom Ditoo a few days as an accessory for my desk as I continue to work from home. I have been so impressed I had to write a review. I already owned a Divoom product which displayed pictures etc. so was familiar with the software and the ability to create custom animations and slideshows. The Ditoo is in another league. What a fantastic product. The display is clear and bright, the keyboard is amazing with the actual feel of a keyboard — and it’s illuminated! Even the little joystick selector is made of metal. This cute little gadget has a ton of functions built in but thanks to the well-presented software it has almost unlimited customisations. The Divoom App is really good and allows you almost unlimited options to change this device’s screen. Custom graphics from a huge community of art, ability to create your own art. Alarm clocks, timers, built in games, radio, Bluetooth for connecting your music. When I first tried out the sound I could not believe how loud and clear it is. It’s perfect for me to listen to my MP3’s or listen to one of the many radio channels. Sound is amazing! — overall I 100% recommend this product — you will not be disappointed of you decide to purchase. It’s not the cheapest product but it’s so well built and has a substantial weight to it. Even the box it comes in is nice! It looks like a little fridge.
This is actually my second Divoom product – the other is a rather nice clock which has been useful for a good couple of years now (and especially fun for changing the screen with pixel art!) – this has those features but is so, so much more!
On the face of things, the Ditoo is a number of different devices all rolled into one so I’ll go through each and say what’s good and not so good.
Decoration: It’s an amazing little decorative piece for a desk, or generally anywhere, it doesn’t look particularly out of place but very much a conversation starter. The nerdier among us all will likely coo over the decidedly retro computer vibe and that’s even with it just being turned off! When you power it on with the little button on the side, it springs to life with RGB colour changing keys and a nice bright large pixel display adding to the retro charm. On the less good points, those of us who would like to keep something like this plugged in all the time as a desk ornament might get a bit of cable management angst as it sadly does protrude out of the side rather than the back. (The included cable is admittedly a nice fabric braided one, but still.)
Speaker: Holy poop-noodles this thing sounds shockingly good for its size! It is one of the more deceptive speakers I’ve heard in a very long time and especially at the price it is! Over Bluetooth, there’s minimal lag (could watch a video and it wasn’t noticeably out of sync), with the microSD card, it’s perfectly lovely if a little strange to navigate (low pixel density screen, so squinting or being further away helps here). The bass port on the back definitely gives the speaker inside the top panel some room to breathe and is very impressive. The battery life was what I would expect for something of this size – I’ve not managed to drain it completely yet in my usage of a few hours a day while doing bits and bobs. Volume is…. plenty. It can certainly fill a room and especially on top of other noises or people. Sound does admittedly get very slightly distorted at the top end of volume but realistically unless you’re in the middle of a field and want to hear it at the other end – it’s not an issue!
Notifications/Clock: Lovely clock – loads of different faces (think of a retro-looking smartwatch but for your desk!) which should suit anyone’s fancy; but if they don’t… CUSTOMISE! You can customize darn near everything with the app – Colour of the numbers, animated pixel art, display current weather, or just as a mood/night light. The downside here is most of the customisation is only available from within the app, rather than via menus on the device itself so you will have to use the app to get the most out of it but, if you’re looking at this anyway, it’s likely not a problem for you either.
Distraction demon: Oh how this thing is built for the procrastinator! The clicky buttons are very Cherry MX Red feeling with a very satisfying “click!” to them, the little slot machine pull arm is wonderfully tactile. I’ve caught myself pressing random buttons just for the simple fun of it! But, once you figure out what the buttons do and get used to the slots arm being the ‘enter’ button there’s a load of extra useful and purely fun features. In the menu system, there are Music, Drawing, Utilities, Clock, and Games. Music is pretty obvious. Drawing has some fun painting memory game thing – not sure I fully understand it but it’s fun nonetheless. In the utilities, there’s a scoreboard (for quidditch matches?), stopwatch, sound meter/decibel meter (which is actually quite useful to make sure I’m not being too loud on calls when working from home), and a timer. The clock is fairly obvious too and the Games section has a bunch of fun distractions which some, I honestly don’t get (read: I’m rubbish at) and some absolute retro corkers like Breakout, Flappy birds, Snake, a racing game, etc. I’ll leave it to you to play around with and like me get frustrated… but keep coming back to.
Overall: The look and feel of this thing are very premium, the packaging it comes in is honestly a bit bonkers! (in a good way) the bad and the little display case (which looks rather like a mini-fridge!) is just the start of the attention to detail this little thing has had put into it. The switches, screen, battery, and speaker are all really well-engineered, and the overall look and feel are just hard to argue with.
Absolutely zero regrets even with my very minor gripes about the intuitiveness of the menus and charger port placement – very happy with this!
It’s pretty small and can fit anywhere, the animations are really cool and you can add/create your own. It does have a decent little speaker in it, but if you’re buying it just for the speaker I wouldn’t recommend it. The front buttons on the buttons are RGB (non-controllable though as far as I’m aware) and they’re blue clicky switches.
It’s simple to connect to your phone and get going. It charges via USB C which is great! You can also add an SD card with music but I haven’t tried that yet.
Though it is a little high budget it’s fun to mess around with!
I have been watching this speaker for a while and picked it up during a flash sale. I love the retro aesthetic and the speaker itself is decent quality with good bass however its the Divoom software that makes it stand out.
The working backlit mechanical keyboard is a nice touch and playing some of the simple pixel games that come pre loaded whilst playing some of my favourite music was a cool experience.
One of my favourite Divoom app tools is the sleeping aid; which plays relaxing audio that will turn off after a set time that I choose.
Others include weather updates, displaying app notifications, games, an alarm and daily planner.
And then there’s the pixel art community. Users can upload and download custom artwork and animations, and are encouraged to by themed competitions.
You can save up to 12 animations or pictures that loop as a “channel”. Up to 3 “channels” can be saved and flicked through when desired. In total that adds up to 36 pictures or animations to toggle between.
I really was surprised by how much this speaker could do, I came in expecting a cute retro speaker that would look cool on my desk and ended up with so much more! I would highly recommend this for someone who’s looking for a cool gift idea, or something to add some ambience to your shelf or desk.
I LOVE this pixel retro speaker so much! It is the cutest thing ever (and the packaging is adorable too!) and has so many features! The speaker is also AMAZING quality despite it being a tiny device! It can also get super loud or quiet so the range is very convenient. The pixel art options are endless on the app ( amazing app btw works seamlessly). Seriously, there is literally a pixel art design for anything. I wanted Snoopy the dog from Peanuts to appear on the speaker, it did in seconds( see attached image for a picture of it!). The customization options are also literally endless since you can design your own pixel art if you want to. It is so nice because I have it on my desk and it literally brightens my day to see these cute animations. Speaking of brightness, this thing can get bright! The brightness range is incredible and super adjustable. Plus there is a planner feature where you can map out your day according to different animations that will be displayed! I personally use the stopwatch feature a lot for practice tests and it looks so cute, literally makes me so happy. And during breaks, you can be assured that the music quality is going to be perfect. I love the micro SD card feature for playing music because I don’t always have my phone on Bluetooth ( to limit distractions) and I can still listen to my favorite songs from anywhere including my desk. When I do use Bluetooth, it never lags or skips which is great because I have had previous speakers that have done that. It is the perfect feature since it has these two ways to play music! Also, I adore the music visualizer feature. There are a few settings built-in but you can take your favorite animation (from the app), and then it will display it based off of the music beats. The charger is a USB-C which is super convenient because all of my other chargers are that too so I don’t need to clutter up my space with random chargers! On the topic of charging, battery life is amazing and the charging time is much less than what is stated in the manual. It once lasted for 3 straight days without a charge. I believe the manual said it takes like 4 hours to completely charge. I tested this out and it only took a little over an hour! The games on the speaker are super fun and retro. Even though it is not the main feature, it is nice to have and I will play with it as a break sometimes.
This speaker is a must-have as it does everything anyone could ever want. It not only is a speaker but an aesthetic clock (attached an image for reference), a retro pixel game machine, a pixel art display, a planner, a stopwatch, a music visualizer, and so much more! I cannot recommend this retro pixel speaker enough, it is truly exceptional and well-made! I am very impressed and highly recommend!
I bought a Divoom Tivoo Max a couple of years ago and I absolutely love it. I have it charging all the time so it can always be on in my house, everybody that comes round loves it and it’s such a good talking point. I couldn’t resist getting a little miniature version for my office, so fitting that this is a miniature computer too!
If you love retro stuff, this is right for you! Such a cool thing to have on in the background. And you can play games and music through it too, the sound is surprisingly good for how small it is!
Really nice little speaker with a lot of fun features. You don’t need the app to use it unless you want those extra functions; otherwise you can use the pre-programmed displays, play the games, and turn the alarm clock on/off just with the buttons (make sure to read the instructions though because it’s not very intuitive). Full charge of battery lasts me around 5 or 6 hours of playing music with the screen on medium brightness. Comes in a little case you can keep and use for taking it in a bag somewhere. If you’re looking for really fancy sound quality then it’s probably not for you but if you just want a cute speaker then I’d definitely recommend it!
