This is a great little hygrometer that allows me to have humidity and temperature information at my fingertips.
I’m using it to check the temperature and humidity around my houseplants and the information seems to be accurate.
It’s easy to set up and the app is easy to use.
Recommended.
I like to know what the temperature is inside my tent whilst winter backpacking.
I have tried small ‘Mercury style’ thermometers. Too small to see & fragile.
This iscexcellent. Bluetooth to your phone. Takes readings at 10 minute orc1 hour intervals. Stored on your phone.
The reason I bought it is because it is recognised by Home Assistant and is imported with ease. Even it it wasn’t, it has it’s own app. for your Iphone, which is simple to use and setup. Perfect for use in a not too remote location. Mine monitors the humidity in my garage to stop my tools and electronics being damaged by rust. It has many other uses.
The standout feature is the ability to monitor both temperature and humidity wirelessly. It keeps me informed about the environment, and I love the notification alerts. Whenever there’s a significant change, it pings my phone, ensuring I’m always aware and can make necessary adjustments.
Data storage and export functionality are incredibly useful. I can track trends over time and analyse the data for better decision-making. The 262 feet connecting range is impressive; I can place the sensor in various areas of my home and still receive accurate data on my phone.
The design is sleek and minimalistic, blending well with any setting. The device is small, so it’s discreet yet effective. The app is user-friendly, providing a seamless experience in configuring the settings and accessing the data.
In conclusion, this device offers convenient monitoring, reliable alerts, and a user-friendly app. If you’re looking for a hassle-free way to keep an eye on your environment, this device is a solid choice.
The GoveeLife Bluetooth Hygrometer Thermometer is a smart and accurate device. It offers real-time monitoring with a wide range, precise data, and convenient data storage. The compact design and alert notifications make it a great addition to any home.
Hi, I like govee products and this is ok, it gives me information about the conditions in my basement, you can send the data via email and open up with office products, the app works easy and you can see the data virtually straight away, it’s a good tiny gadget that’s affordable for good information of which I can send out to finally get my basement sorted and dry
This is a great little gadget. It has a nice high resolution of 0.1C and 0.1% RH, and it takes a measurement every minute. So if you want to get your geek on and monitor, precisely, the temperature somewhere (greenhouse, garage, wine/beer corner, pet/livestock areas, or just in your lounge or bedroom or attic) you can just place this in the spot and the periodically check the app.
It’s slightly annoying that every gadget like this needs its own app, but the “Govee Home” app so far has worked very well for me, connecting really easily, syncing the data whenever I check the app, and boasting some really nice charts either of the last hour, day, week, month or year (see my photos). You need to create an account online first, but the app then lets you download your data as CSV so you can chart it yourself and analyse it at your leisure.
You can set alarms for the temperature and humidity, but I don’t have a need for this so have not tried this feature yet.
I have three other digital thermometers and this one reads 0.3C higher than the lowest of the others. It does have a calibration option, so I could do that, but I’m mainly interested in the temperature changes so this is close enough for me.
The device comes with a fixed coin cell, but apparently this lasts quite a while (some reports indicate up to a year), and with a little fiddling (and checking online) you can replace it when it goes flat. A search online suggests it takes a CR-2477 cell — not as common as some, but you can find these for a couple of quid.
Pros:
– Easy to set up
– Can calibrate both the temp and the humidity via the companion app
– The companion app actually is quite good. Easy to use, good UI, and no issues with linking to device
Cons:
– Battery looks like it will be a pain to change

GoveeLife Bluetooth Hygrometer Thermometer – I like that can be controlled via the Govee app. I was able to configure it in no time and you can even update it’s firmware.
It reads the temperature and humidity well.
I like that it is small.
It is easy to replace the battery.
I definitely recommend.
The GoveeLife Hygrometer Thermometer is a tiny (a rounded 4cm square about 1.7cm deep) Bluetooth thermometer and hygrometer. There is even a keyring cut-out and small wrist strap included if you want to take it out with you. The Bluetooth range is pretty good; I can get readings one floor down and 10m away from where I have placed it in my home office whilst sat on the sofa.
It uses the Govee app which I’m happy to report is usable without registering. The app gives current readings on the dashboard; and you can drill in and see more detailed data.
The device logs the data, so you don’t need to stay connected to log. The description says you can export the data; but I can’t find that option in the app. There isn’t a way to export the data from the app; so, if you need a data logger you will need to look elsewhere.
There is no display on the device; but if you want to leave one in a wardrobe or under something that’s leaking you can setup alerts to your device if a temperature or humidity threshold is met.
It uses a lithium button battery — CR2477 — which I hadn’t heard of before but appear to be easy to get hold of.
Sadly, it isn’t compatible with matter or apple HomeKit so I can’t get the temperature in either of my home dashboards; but when I want to check the temperature the app isn’t far away. It connects quickly when opened and the values agree with my existing thermometer (which I used to set a calibration temperature in the app.)
You need to remove the battery tab to start it working, which you can do without removing the battery cover. I can’t actually get the cover off with my fingernails, it looks like a small screwdriver will be needed to put in the slot and twist, but I’ll wait until the battery runs out before attempting that in case I damage it. The battery is a CR 2477. There is no indication given as to how long the battery is expected to last.
I was hoping that I might be able to connect to this using the SmartLife app, to reduce the number of apps I need, but it won’t have it. You are forced to download the manufacturer’s own Govee Home app (which seems to have a lot of similarities to SmartLife) to connect to it – whilst it tries to cajole you into creating an account, fortunately you can in fact use the app without creating one (just like SmartLife).
Connection via BLE proceeded quickly and smoothly. The app will present you with graphs of humidity and temperature, as well as dew point and VPD (vapour pressure deficit, which is likely to be useful for people using these in greenhouses). The time axis can be changed to hour, day, week, month or year, and you can change to bar graphs showing max, min or average. You can set notifications if desired.
Accuracy is stated as +/-0.54F which would equal 0.3C which seems good, and +/-3% humidity which seems less good (especially given the fifteen quid price of this) but should be OK for most purposes. You can apply offsets in increments of +/-0.1 to both temperature and humidity via the app settings.
A short lanyard is included which you can thread through one corner and use to hang it up.
Good:
– small and light
– great mobile app
– well made
– easy to use
– easy to open
– lanyard, so you can hang it somewhere in your room/flat/home
Bad:
– app has limited functionality, if you won’t register an account
– battery does not look like it’s user replaceable
– small screen would be great, just for checking temperature, going every time to an app might be a hassle
This is a very good quality, small and compact Hygrometer / Thermometer, as I’ve come to expect from Govee (I have other Govee products, equally good). This is for indoor use, and not outdoor, and is easily placed wherever you wish. There is no incorporated display, but obviously this can be seen via the app. It’s very well-made, robust, small and compact.
The device is battery powered and comes complete with the required (1 x CR2477) battery already inserted, with an isolating tab you simply remove in the usual way with this kind of device. The t&h sensor has a small lanyard, so it’s easy to hook onto wherever you wish. Perhaps a conventional ‘keyhole’ type recess would have been good as an option too, but it does stand, and you could always use a small sticky tab.
This was really simple to set up, and connects by Bluetooth. Really easy pairing, in fact, it paired automatically, since I already have the Govee app. Do bear in mind though, that you are only able to access when in BT range (not when you are away from the home). This is a shame, since many other similar products connect via Wi-Fi, and can connect via an Echo Show for instance or as a direct app, and not just BT, (as my Netatmo devices do).
The interface is exceptionally good, with plenty of additional information, eg, historical recording and averages, as well as export, min / max temperature / humidity alerts etc. Accuracy is good — I compared with other devices.
Overall, this is a good quality, inexpensive gadget that works well, and can integrate with other Govee products. Shame it isn’t Wi-Fi, so can be accessed anywhere, but there may be a Govee hub you can buy? If this was Wi-Fi, it would be a resounding 5 stars.
