Absolutely delicious really like these bars usually eat one walking home from the gym after a good workout the taste and texture is gorgeous low on sugar high in protein excellent for me got these on subscribe and save for the price
Arrived safe quick and fast and does what it says on the box. Not much to say really it’s a protein bar. I orded a box and it was exactly what I wanted. 100% will use agai
Good tasting bar, like the rest it does have that sweetener aftertaste.
I enjoy these bars but for me they are too expensive for what they are. There are much cheaper ways of getting protein from good or powder. These are decent when you are on the go and want to grab a snack.
These are not keto, but I love them anyway, went to a relatives for the weekend and took 4 different flavours i picked up in boots & loved the taste of them all. I just wish they didn’t contain malitol! If the recipes were tweaked a bit so they contained no malitol, and the carb count a bit lower then these would sell out to people on the keto diet, fatt bars that are keto taste horrible, these are so much nicer, this is my favourite so far, it reminds me of a rice crispy bar, how they make that crunch without them is amazing
For some reason Amazon wont let me review the Salted Caramel ones I bought (in the cyan packaging), so I’m hajacking this lesser flavour I also bought to tell you about it!
Salted Caramel has has your usual protein fluff in the middle, with a cheeky thin layer of caramel goo that is fantastic. It’s coated in good chocolate coating and chunks. The whole thing is a lovely treat.
The nicest choccy/caramel kind of protein bar I’ve had by a country mile! Never feels like a chore eating these.
This tasted fine, sweet and chocolatey.
It has a nice combination of crunchy, smooth and chewy textures. It wasn’t too hard unlike some bars out there.
It’s good for those, like myself on a lo-carb diet.
My only real grouch is it’s not cheap at 1.66 per bar.
Those taste surprising good. I also like the White Chocolate cookie version.
The net/”impact” carb value advertised is to be taken with caution, as not all experts agree what net carbs are, and it also depends on how individuals react to some of the ingredients used.
A 60g bar is advertised to have 13g of carbs, but only 2g of “impact” carb. The true value is probably much closer to 7-10g, so be careful if you are on a very low carb diet (e.g. less than 50g per day).
A 58g Mars bar (current standard UK size) has got 40g of carbs, so the Grenare bars are still significantly lower regardless.
The cost (around 1.5 per bar) is quite high, considering the bulk purchase.
Great product. Tastes fantastic. Love them. The problem is that until now these bars have been available for delivery to France by Amazon UK . Not anymore. I have asked Amazon why and have been told that items on their hazardous list or items weighing over 30kg can not be shipped internationally. How can a protein bar can be considered hazardous? Or over 30kg for a box of 12? I’ve had no satisfactory answer from Amazon. I have just been told to buy from Amazon France but they don’t sell the same range of grenade bars and those they do sell are usually more exepensive. I seem to be finding more and more restrictions on international delivery. Ive noticed it on things from sports wear to cosmetics. I’m wondering if it is a strategy by Amazon following the drop in the pound to stop customers from choosing the best value items across all amazon stores. Wonder if anyone else has noticed this recently.
Grenade is my favourite brand when it comes to protein bars, and I really prefer the caramel chaos to the other flavours.
For me it is a perfect snack in between meals, to keep the protein intake up. I have a shake after workout and a bar per day. If you compare prices these ones are priced quite average, but you get much more quality and flavour (in my opinion).
When comparing protein bars, always look at the hard facts, the nutrition figures. And here again, Grenade does a great job. Low sugars, low impact carbs and 23g protein.
I had bars before that are super hard and therefore not nice to eat. So I did a little video and picture to show you that this is not the case with GRENADE, hope you enjoy 🙂
For a protein bar these are by far sitting at the top.
The ingredients are one of the cleanest you can buy, they taste great and there is a whole range of flavours to choose from.
The comparison with the nutritional information against a cheaper protein bar explains why there is a slightly higher price on these bars.
If you’re following an eating plan that allows a bit of a clean treat then these are perfect guilt free bars for you and worth the price tag.
So there’s a lot of debate about sugar alcohols (which these bars contain) and staying in ketosis. A lot of the hard-core ketogenic dieters would suggest staying away from these bars, however, if you’re a [normal] person who still remembers how great sweet stuff tastes but miss it because of a keto diet, these are a godsend. The white chocolate ones in particular are so sweet that 1/4 of a bar will demolish any cravings and boost my protein macros for the day too. Would be amazing if they did a version with a little bit more fat, but the net carbs are low and so far I’ve not been pushed out of keto with having 1-2 of these a day.
I train at crossfit while have a very busy lifestyle. I do have a sweet tooth what is obviously not healthy so had to look into alternatives. I was recommended this protein bar by my client who lost a lot of weight, that this is her favourite protein bar and it tastes like snickers. At the next appointment she brought me to try one bar, I shared it with my work mate and we were both amazed by the taste of it! Tasted like heaven compared to the other protein bar brands. I fell in love with this protein bar with no time. Ended up ordering the whole box, eating it as a snack between breakfast and lunch or just having it on the go. After giving it to try to bodybuilder housemate, he was collecting them secretly and only telling me afterwards. Gave them to try to my crossfit trainers and they loved it as well. Highly recommend my friends to try and I will be ordering them more more and more!
I got these from warehouse deals as the packaging was very slightly damaged. For that price I was very happy. The bars themselves taste very good without that “chemical” taste that you can get from a lot of low carb bars. I’m not sure I would buy at the full price as they are pricey, but still good value compared to individual shop bought ones. The flavour is nice and chocolate/caramel and they are also very satisfying. I think that these would be great if you were out and about and needed something quick to give you energy but not have your blood sugar spiking out of control. For that, they are extremely good.
This has replaced my current favourite protein bar ( MaxiNutrition Progain Mass and Strength Flapjack Bars – Chocolate, Blueberry and Cranberry, 90 g, Box of 12 ). I bought it on a whim and the other reviewers recommended the caramel flavour. I can see why.
The bar itself has some sort of nougat type filling, and a layer of crispy bits, and coated in chocolate. It’s the crispy bits that make this bar stand out. It gives texture. It makes a massive difference to those overly-chewy quest bars that everyone raves on about.
I found this bar so delicious, I ate one for breakfast, and then went and ate a second one straight after. That’s how great it tastes. I’ve never done that with any other protein bar.
Perfect alternative if protein milkshakes and powders aren’t your thing. I can put a bar or 2 in my gym bag and not have to worry about keeping them refrigerated which is a bonus as I often train after work and have no fridge to keep things in during the day.
Read the reviews and decided to try the Caramel Chaos flavour and I’ve got to say they are the nicest bars I’ve tasted. They are similar to a Mars bar but with a slightly stodgier and somewhat powdery base. The chocolate is really quite nice and the biscuit like topping gives it a bit of variety. Having tried other branded bars are a lot less dry and chewy and don’t leave an awful aftertaste,
As a diabetic the low sugar content is also a bonus with some other bars available having quite high sugars compared.
Overall I’d recommend these bars, just need to try the other flavours to see if they’re as good!
Now… These bars.
By the power of greyskull…
Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood look on at Grenade, with jealousy and resentment as they were unable to craft a protein bar that would appear to be designed by the iron fisted Greek god Zeus.
A chewy tasty whey layer, covered in sticky caramel and chocolate biscuit, all wrapped up in a smooth chocolate coat. This sounds great, but then you glance at the protein content (23g) and carbs (13.5g and only 1.4g of which is sugar) you think that this must be a mistake, a misprint, a typo… but no… these bars are the expection to the rule; ‘too good to be true’.
Your move Mary Berry….
Outstanding Protein Bar.
I’ve been using protein in various forms seriously since about 2002. I’ve tried pretty much every combination of bars, shakes, flapjacks and powders you can think of. Am I an athlete? no. Just a dude trying to eat right.
Bottom line? these lil beauties beat any other brand. Combat Crunch & Quest are prolly the closest rivals but seriously don’t compare in quality, taste or nutritional content. These have a superb taste, are light, not stodgy, reminds me of the texture of a wafer chocolate bar. And to top it all off just 1.5g of sugar and net carbs. Plus its about two thirds of the cost of a box of other protein bars!! After my first taste I bought 3 additional boxes!
I always thought of Grenade as a fad name. I had tried their supplements before (fat burner pills) and so wasn’t expecting much with these. I gotta tell you though, these are a game changer.
