Had other makes in the past and didn’t last long or failed to pick up.
Hoover as a brand are definitely the best and the suction is far superior as you work the Hoover over your carpet the muck and dust is collected and makes your carpet look a different colour to before you started. Also works on hard floor, the attachments work to get those nooks and crannies that are hard to reach otherwise. The pet attachment picks up the fur better than previous branded hoovers.
This is a must have if looking for a Hoover that cleans your carpet and a brand you can rely on to do the job.
I’ve had Dyson and shark and this is by far the best performance!! I have long haired GSD who moults constantly. This is the only vacuum that picks out EVERYTHING and doesn’t get clogged up either. Easy to use, for stairs, to empty. Excellent value for money. Highly recommend
Suction power is good enough, it is easy to manoeuvre, easy to use, light and can hoover stairs without any problem. Additional bonus is the carpet button and the magic wond button is hilarious
Good job designers with a sense of humo
My previous HOOVER Hurricane 2000 series served well for 15 years and is still going well in a busy household with thick carpets and wooden floors never been disappointed by this brilliant well designed and robust machine. As engineer i can well appreciate the simplicity and good functionality of the machine. My new Hoover hoover is well built, it is very efficient and i can see that will be helping well in the years ahead. Have absolutely no regret for my purchase. Highly recommended
I don’t normally write a product review immediately.
This Hoover is incredible.
I thoroughly vacuumed yesterday with my Hetty Hoover with the power brush head attached.
I have one indoor longhaired cat, so I have to clean on a regular basis due to him.
I am literally speechless at the amount of hair just picked up from my carpets with this hoover.
I thought that my Hetty Hoover was powerful and picked up all the hairs and dander, but judging from the performance of this Hoover, it was clearly not doing its job.
I am blown away with this machine.
it is very easy to put together and use, Plus, I love the fact that there was no plastic or polystyrene in the box.
It comes with a five year guarantee, as long as you register the product within the first week of ownership.
I am so pleased that I did not buy one of the completely overpriced big names, as in my opinion, this is far superior.
do not hesitate to buy this model and especially if you have pets, I promise you will not regret it.
Had a shark which just didn’t cut it, after friend told me how good it was , tried it out and it’s fantastic the LED light shines in any dust you missed . Can’t praise it enough
I never imagined I’d say that about a vacuum but here it is, I love it. It does everything it promises and so easy to use and clean. I have 4 dogs so you can imagine the amount of fur I have to deal with and this brings life back to my carpets. Don’t hesitate just buy i
In a nutshell: All of the positive things that I have read about this product in other reviews have been 100% on point.
Overall I have been very impressed. The suction power on the minimum setting is sensational for my medium-pile carpet, so I see no need to increase it. The picture attached shows the effectiveness of this vacuum after just fifteen seconds of usage on a carpet that hasn’t been vacuumed with my previous Vax MachAir vacuum for about a week. You can see for yourself just how much it has picked up!
The setup of the vacuum cleaner is quick and easy, taking me about five minutes.
This is my first vacuum cleaner with the lift-away functionality, which I did specifically buy for this function, and I will never go back again. I had formerly considered buying a cordless vacuum cleaner due to the buildup of cat hair on the staircase being quite tricky to deal with using a traditional vacuum cleaner, but most people complain about the lack of suction power so that idea was thrown out of the window. Moreover, I didn’t want to be limited by the battery capacity of a cordless vacuum cleaner. So when I came across the lift-away capabilities of this Hoover vacuum, I jumped on the opportunity, even if it cost twice as much as I would like to pay for it. Having now used the lift-away function several times, I will never again buy a vacuum cleaner that does not have this built-in.
I have also been impressed by the weight of the product. Despite the size of the product as a whole, it is exceptionally light.
The cable is long enough to not need to move the plug on one floor, and there is also enough cable length to do an entire flight of stairs.
There is a very practical front-facing light, which is handy for overall visibility.
The noise levels are moderate; it certainly isn’t ear-splittingly loud, nor is it whisper quiet. Overall I expect that the decibels are exactly what you would expect for a vacuum cleaner of this size, power and capability.
So far, the anti-twist technology in the main brush bar appears to work well, which is a necessity for someone whose wife has two-and-a-half-foot-long hair, as well as two long-haired cats. I have not seen any build-up of hair at all in the main brush bar, but if it does I expect it will be easy to clean as the plastic cover simply pops off with the push of a button. As the pet tool has a traditional-style brush bar, it builds up a lot of caught-up hair. That being said, it is very easy to disassemble the pet tool, cut out the hair, and then reinstall it again. The brush bar in the pet tool disassembled more than I expected, allowing me to remove hair that has become entrapped in the inner workings of the brush bar.
The only reason I haven’t given this vacuum cleaner 5 stars is because it didn’t come with a brush to clean the stairs. I think this should have been included. I bought it separately which is annoying. Apart from that it is a great vacuum cleaner.
My Shark wired pet hair cleaner stopped working, well it is working but the brushes stop and start and despite all being clean they just won’t work. Being as it’s about 3 years old and the replacement head would cost too much, I bought this hoover instead. Boy oh boy, I have to actually use the suction switch (which like the shark just make a hole), to reduce the suction, otherwise it sucks to the carpet so hard it’s hard to push! It’s really that powerful. It runs circles around Shark, and even the build quality seems much higher. I’ll be sticking with Hoover now – they’ve been around longer and know a lot more than all these newbies! BTW: Shark plastics also broke at the front. The only downside is it is a tiny bit heavier, but I’m happy to accept that given that’s probably better quality plastics and motors!
Very good piece of kit and adaptable in the way you can detach the ground/carpet suction device. My only complaint is that it would be good if the detachable nozzle was available with a brush end. The one supplied is only useful for very hard non scratch-able surfaces so you have to be careful using it on more fragile surfaces. I have looked at Hoover website and nothing is available.
The hoover seems to work very well. The brushes in the main unit are actually powered by a small motor with the ones in the small pet hair thing powered by the air flow going through it.
The dirt container appears to be really quite small so even a single room which hasn’t been hoovered for a while you might need to empty the container. But then it is light enough to detach the main unit whilst you hoover the stairs or the car.
The hose will try to retract when you actually try hard to remove something as the suction is really quite good so it’s not like the hose on a henry hoover which is a much more solid construction, this one collapses back into the hoover body so it will try to reduce in size as you hoover.
The action takes a bit of getting used to as it wants to go in straight lines, but the tilt action sideways is pretty good. The filters are apparently washable so hopefully they will last a long time.
The little mini hoover does seem to be very effective, but doesn’t have the comb effect the main one does so you do need to unravel it. Overall it does some pretty good work.
This vacuum cleaner is fairly heavy , it took me a few minutes to set up and sus out but it is very good people can see the difference when the whole flat has been used
After having a shark anti hair wrap that although the suction was okay at first, hair definitely wrapped around the pets where it wasn’t supposed to, I feel this is a much better vacuum cleaner.
The anti hair wrap actually works, the suction is excellent even after time, and I love that the light stays on when using the pipe (which the shark does not).
I am a professional cleaner by trade and would recommend this to anyone. A bit heavier than the shark and the cord isn’t as long but to me the plus pints outweigh the minus points.
My comments hopefully don’t repeat too much what others have written. I have the Corded Home Model (not the Pets model), so my model doesn’t have the mini turbo tool. This is a good all round cleaner and, being corded, there is guaranteed power for the time needed with no fade. You get the feeling it was designed by an experienced user of vacuum cleaners as opposed to some designer who thinks they know what is required. Quite a lot of annoying things have been put right that exist in some other models or makes. It’s easy to clean the roller, very easy to access the filters, it has a good length of cable, there is a vitally important clip to keep the power cable from stressing at the entry point of the cable to the cleaner, the bin can be opened at the top as well as the bottom to make cleaning easy.
I can’t understand the rush to cordless. My experience of other domestic gadgets (like garden strimmers) tells me that batteries fade before the advertised claims, and it soon gets worse. It really is annoying to have to stop work and wait an age (perhaps to the next day) for the recharge to take place. We live in a bungalow and, apart from one room, the cable in my corded cleaner will reach from a centrally located socket to the furthest points of the dwelling. Another metre and it would have reached to the one furthest extremity without moving the plug or using an extension cable. There are occasions in the year when I move all the larger furniture in the house and use a tool to go around the very edges of the rooms, and clean under the void and the backs of the moved furniture. So the batteries wouldn’t last the time needed to clean our home. The job can take most of a day. In a normal clean I can get the cleaner under the front of most furniture except to the rear of a sideboard. I am looking at buying the mini turbo tool to do those bits, but here I find my biggest downside.
Hoover’s website and query service isn’t up to snuff. Hoover have quite a number of different turbo tools. A search for the appropriate turbo tool on the website won’t accept my model number to do a search for the tool. I have filled in two query forms on their website (two separate matters, including the turbo tool) with no replies or acknowledgements. When registering your cleaner make sure you use the 16 digit serial number which is located behind the Crevice Tool (and not the 8 digit partial number on the base of the machine) otherwise the registration system won’t work. The Amazon website currently has a good pdf link to guide you through the registration procedure if you scroll down the product page. Getting spares easily is important. I had to throw away a perfectly good VAX machine because it was 7 years old and they seem to have stopped providing most, normally consumable, spare parts. It remains to be seen how good HOOVER will be in that regard.
I advise using the clip to support the mains cable. Experience with other models/makes tells me that, without that clip provision, the cable sheathing can be worn through quite quickly within a year or two because of continual flexing of the cable where it enters the machine and, eventually, the inner wires become exposed producing a short circuit. In older models it was a bit of a fiddle shortening the cable by taking the chassis apart, cutting out the damaged wire, and reconnecting without the damaged length of cable. I don’t know if that would even be possible on this newer design machine but prevention is better than cure in any case. The clip should hopefully reduce the amount and/or strength of cable flexing and keep it out of the way on the floor while working.
I cannot believe the flexibility of this vacuum, I had a previous cordless model that had all of the bells and whistles… Or so I thought.
Cleaning the staircase has never been so enjoyable, the push and lift design is a firm favourite as I can just press the pedal and go from there without switching any parts around. Bliss. The HEPA filter was a main attraction for my household since I have allergy sufferers in the family and I have pet birds that create a lot of dander (dust that can trigger allergies). I gave my carpets and wooden flooring a deep clean immediately after unboxing and the suction was incredibly good, I have used the vacuum cleaner frequently since and have noticed how much fresher my home looks and feels.
The nozzle for getting into small corners is exceptional and the ability to remove each section and troubleshoot manually seems to be a huge advantage on the off chance there’s any issues later.
The filter is really high quality and I appreciate that you can clean all of the parts to keep things fresh. All of the vacuum is easy to use, relatively quiet for the hard work it does and is a perfect addition for my home.
The only thing that had me confused from taking the cleaner out of the box and assembling was the upside down print on the handle (see image). I think it makes more sense to print this the other way around? A very worthwhile purchase indeed.
I was so excited to open this product and test, and it didn’t disapoint. I cannot believe the strength of the suction, or what you can see it has picked up. After one whip around the contents of the “bin” were substantial, even though I had hoovered the previous day. Having asthma, I have noticed a huge difference in the house feeling alot cleaner and pure, even though I wasn’t aware there was extra dust/dirt that needed hoovering. The Hoover push n lift certainly did. The use of the tools are very simple and easy to use and it’s an attractive looking hoover. Its easy to lidt up and down stairs and has a decent length elextrical lead. The only dispointment I found was the stair tool wasn’t included in the box it’s an addition, however the skinny skirting brush was. If the stairs brush was included I would make this a 5/5.
This hoover when arrived was packaged well, everything was well wrapped and packed tightly. The hoover was very easy to set up and I was very excited to use this product. I set up and used straight away. The hoover is powerful and easy to use. I like that you can use it on carpet and on flooring. I like the hose so when I have something to get too and the lover can’t reach or fit in the gap this is a handy tool attached to the hoover. The hoover has a long cord however I which this could be retractable for ease of use. The bin attached to the hoover is very easy to empty and I like that I can see the dust and rubbish being collected. The only downside is that I found the hoover a little heavy. The is my first upright hoover. It is easy to glide about and turns around corners easily. This hoover is much more powerful than my cordless. I have two pets and the suction is great. It removes all hair.
