I have to be honest and say that I only use this to cover my electric oven hob whilst my air fryer is in use. I have a small kitchen with minimal a minimal work surface area. My kettle, toaster and microwave occupies much of that surface. Since it is cheaper to use my air fryer than the electric ovens, my air fryer is stored on top of my hob. This does prevent any surface scratches and keeps my hob clean whilst air fryer is in use. When my hob is required this is easy for me to set aside keeping my hob in lovely condition. I am aware that perhaps a tea towel would suffice but I can only offer a review based upon what I use it for. I appreciate that other reviews might offer an opinion more appropriate to your requirements. It’s just that I’ve been asked for a review and I feel it rude not to provide one.
