Has become the number 2 in my toolbox to be used, the only reason they aren’t number 1 is the cutting edge below the 2 stripping holes, which are great and are the most common sizes -1 mm/1.5mm – 2.5mm. The edge is sharp enough to go through cable up to 4mm t&e, but for the ringing to strip back the outer sheaf, it’s not so sharp. Versatile, go hold in the hand, and can withstand a 6m drop onto a carpark below and still remain a tight cut with no play in the handles or cutting head. Reccomened.
Whilst these are a bit pricey they are very good. They are now the cutters I always have in my pocket .
They cut cables well, the plier provides a good grip and it’s handy to have the strip and crimp in the same tool.
I like them, still a bit pricey though.
I have had three pairs of these over the years, and I can honestly say, it’s very difficult to now use anything else.
They’re incredibly versatile, the croppers can cut the standard M3 screws to size, as well as thicker tails. It’s incredibly well built and I would advise you to avoid the version with a grip lock, the grip lock only lasts about 5 months.
It’s the last set of pliers you’ll buy.
I was looking for cutters and pliars for a second electrical kit when I came across this.
I had not seen one before, and initially thought it was too good to be true, but I had faith in the Knipex brand and ordered them as it was a cost saving of over 100 on buying pliars, crimps, side cutters and strippers.
When they arrived the quality was evident from the moment they came out of the box.
On a quick test, they blew me away as no longer did I need to carry multiple items when undertaking cabinet wiring.
There is a definite time saving to using them for the work I do, as I’m not hunting for tools or perching them in precarious places for quick access.
The cable shears impressed me the most as I have never had a set before. Using side cutters to cut through 2.5mm twin and earth was made so much smoother and easier and it seems to crush it a lot less due to the scissor like action.
The crimping terminals are excellent as is the stripping Action.
Gripping and reaming sockets is also really good. I will be getting a second set for at home as they are just so damn handy and save a lot of space.
I just wish there was a little hole in the base of the handle to allow for a retractable line to be added for working at height. But thats just a personal preference
Iv had my eye on there’s for a while. The price always put me off but finely did it and I dont no why I didn’t sooner. This are probably the most handy pair of pliers on the market. I will say if you are just second fixing sockets, lights they are not that practical but I do alot of metal work and they are just great for this and that. They are my now go to side cutters for making off boreds. There are perfect for stripping long cable that have to go through contractors before the breaker. Really worth the money 3 friends have bought a pair and wouldn’t go back. Yes they have down sides like its sometimes had to cut cable ties and other minor things but with every con there two pros
Quite pleased with the pliers regarding functionality, however, they are just a tad on the long side, had to use side cutters in conjunction with them to complete task. I was hoping this would be a one tool wonder but its not.
