Coming in basic economy packaging, this product is one of the many hundreds of Switch controllers currently on the market, and as usual it is also compatible with Windows PCs (and several other systems).

Here are my main highlights for this product:

Good size, not too big or small
    Strong battery
    Accurate thumbsticks and reliable buttons
    Consistent with Switch layout
    Adjustable turbo function

Not as good as OEM product
    Doesn’t connect perfectly first time

So, as you can see there is a lot I like about this pad. The positives far outweigh the negatives. It feels good to use, and I got used to it after about ten minutes and forgot it was a generic controller. It has all the bells and whistles you can fit into a controller like this, and a larger than average battery too. It’s not as good as the original of course, but then it’s a fraction of the price. For 90% of games it will be fine in terms of responsiveness and accuracy.

The only technical problem I have is that it doesn’t always connect the first time, regardless of device. Usually the second attempt is fine, and it stays connected no problem.

Having used quite a few wireless Switch/Universal controllers over the years I can say that this is above average, and the price matches that fact. This is currently priced at half that of the official controller, the question is of course how long will this last compared to the real thing? If it only lasts half as long then the cost difference isn’t worth it, as the original gives you a better experience for the same overall price-per-hour.

I will say that if you can get it for 20 or less then it’s a great second pad, or one to give the kids so they don’t destroy your original.

    Just what we needed !!
The controller arrived promptly, box intact. Inside I found the controller which looks expensive, has a great grip, smooth buttons, quick and easy to pair, even if you are not a tech person, fast response from controller, already arrived charged, however charging cable is included and has a fast charging time, there’s also a instruction manual which can be handy for some. Would definitely recommend

This seems like a good gamepad.
Although it seems a little light, it’s actually also a good weight in my hands.
It’s a good size and ergonomic.
It was effortless to connect. Once I connected it with a wire to the Switch, I could pull the wire off and click on the home button. It worked great.

Controllers can cost a lot of money, but this one is certainly at the budget entry level, and it manages to provide a lot of functionality being able to connect to PC via cable (this is how I used it), or alternatively can connect wirelessly to a Switch.

I plugged this in to my PC and it worked right away – tested it playing Rocket League, my go to game – and it worked flawlessly – very happy.

The controller is pretty much the same size and dimensions as an xbox one controller – it is a little lighter at around 200g – has an inbuilt battery that will last around 5 or more hours, though I will primarily be using it cabled.

The switches and joysticks all feel good, and I particularly like the textured handles to aid grip with sweaty hands.

The black version is prone to finger marks, however, I prefer this to the white which will require constant cleaning!

    An alternative controller for Switch.

It is also compatible with PCs but not wireless, a supplied USB cable (also used to charge the item) has to be used. The ABXY buttons are reversed in PC mode.

I tried the controller in my MacBook and it was not compatible with any game software I have.

I’ve given it to my teenage boys and they are happy with it.

This controller has dimensions that almost exactly match an original console controller that I often use on my PC, although I actually prefer the rubberised grips of this controller and intend to use it on the PC moving forward.

To use on a PC, it appears that Bluetooth does not detect properly as a games controller, but I was able to connect via a cable as it instructs (PC compatibility is only via cable as documented)

In use I found it just as good as the original console controller and had no problems with button presses or stick sensitivity.

I have not been able to test with my switch to date – as my daughter took it to university – but look forward to doing so in the holidays.

This controller connected on first attempt and reconnects with no issues.
It has gyro inside and rumble which is perfect for Mario kart.
Only thing I found was the left thumbstick was a bit hard on my thumb

As an alternative to the official controller, this is excellent. Sturdy and well made, it’s got some weight to it which really helps game play. There are rumble motors in each side to give the extra feedback, it’s responsive and feels good in your hand. The only issue I have found is the travel time for the back buttons.

I got this for my PC, not for the Nintendo Switch. Steam seemed to be happy with it being a Switch Controller when setting it up, so I got full compatibility down to the rumble features with minimal effort.

It is as it looks really, a 3rd party budget controller, with the expected quirks; if you expect official quality, then you should probably buy the official one. This is not always necessarily a bad thing. For example, I have an official Xbox 360 controller and an off-brand one. The off-brand one is still alive and is more comfortable to use. The official one has more stick drift than a rally car driver.

In this instance, the controller material seems to be a mixture of qualities but somehow makes a fairly decent feeling controller. The buttons are responsive but quite clicky in a fatigue-generating way. However, on the flip side, I like the buttons. They are clear to use and feel kind of chunky but pleasant to push, particularly on fighting games where button bashing comes into its element with this controller.

I am generally a keyboard and mouse player, so I will probably give this to my daughter, knowing she will probably bash it around. However, at the time of reviewing, it is priced at 16.99, which is a good price to be able to enjoy this controller without worrying too much about needing to replace it if it breaks.

This gamepad comes in a box with instructions and an 80cm USB-A to USB-C cable.
Whilst being designed for use on a Switch console or PC it’s configuration is much more similar to an XBOX controller.
The supplied cable was too short for me to use on my PC but after swapping it for a longer one I gave it a try with Steam and Game Pass.
PC games are notoriously finicky with gamepads and this is no exception. I was able to use it with some games but not others although that isn’t the pads fault.
All buttons including the triggers, bumpers & thumbsticks are responsive & work as they should. I like the inclusion of a turbo button as they’ve become rare in recent years. Not a bad pad. 4 stars.

I recently tried out the LATEC Switch Controller, and it turned out to be a decent budget alternative to the original controller. While it doesn’t quite match the premium feel of the official one, it gets the job done without breaking the bank.

Straight out of the box, it connected seamlessly to my Switch, whether it’s the OLED, Lite, or the regular version. No fuss or complicated setup – just a quick connection and ready to play.

The build quality reflects its budget-friendly nature; it doesn’t have the same heft and tactile feel as the official controller, but for the price, it’s reasonable. The buttons are responsive, and the joysticks offer a satisfactory level of precision. The controller also supports gyro axis, dual vibration, and turbo, adding a bit of versatility to your gaming experience.

One notable feature is the dual vibration, providing a decent immersive feel during gameplay. It won’t give you the same nuanced feedback as a high-end controller, but it’s a nice touch that adds some depth to your gaming sessions.

If you’re on a budget and looking for a controller that does the basics well, this one is worth considering. It may not be a showstopper, but it gets the job done without burning a hole in your pocket. A practical choice for casual gamers or as a spare controller for family gaming nights.

Really nice boxed and boxed very nicely. Very secure in it’s packaging. I feel confident this won’t be damaged in transit. The controller itself has high build quality. Very pleased with the look and feel. Buttons are responsive as well. I don’t detect any latency or dead zones. Controls well. Easy to connect. Great gamepad.

This is a great 3rd party wireless controller for the Switch.
It looks and feels good, comfortable to hold and use and works great. The triggers and buttons feel good too, not too stiff or clunky.
All the usual buttons are present plus the inclusion of Turbo, which is a nice extra feature.
Easy to connect to your console and provides around 5 or so hours of play from a single charge, which isn’t the greatest but good enough for the price you pay.
I think the price is excellent for this good quality wireless controller.

For its price, which is very much in the budget area, I think this is an absolutely fantastic controller. Of course, it can’t compete with those high end pro controllers at 10 times the price, but this doesn’t mean you’re missing anything or will be at a disadvantage.

It’s a fairly weighty controller, it’s perhaps ever so slightly lighter than I’d like but it’s not so light that it feels completely bare bones inside.

It connected to my Switch very easily and it has a USB-C connection/Charge port.

    Response time is very good.

The triggers are responsive and all round quite good. If I were to nit-pick I’d say the travel time could be a little bit shorter, but it’s not worth complaining about.

The bumper buttons are nice and clicky which I love.

The face buttons are very good.

The analogue sticks are also very good. They’re quite long so offer decent accuracy.

The D-Pad is okay, they’re not bad but a little spongy. This is where most third party controllers fall flat but this is actually serviceable.

They’re very comfortable to hold and have grips in the palm.

For this price I don’t think you could ask for more. At 16.99 it’s a controller I’d be happy to use as a dedicated one but priced at a spare to give to a second, third or forth player. I can absolutely recommend this.

This is a pretty good controller. No, it’s not as good as the pro controller, but it’s also a third of the price. It does the job pretty well and at this price I have very few complaints. It’s a little light on the build quality – it feels quite plasticky and rattles a little if you shake it. But it performs pretty well, is easy on the hands, and the functions work as they should. At this price, it does pretty much everything you’d want from one – can recommend.

Quick note – this needs to be plugged into the console with a cable for the first time connection before you can then pair with bluetooth going forwards. This is common to all controllers of this type, but it’s a step the instructions neglect to mention.

At time of writing this is listed for less than half the price of an official Nintendo contoller, and that is the big selling point of the item.

I will be honest with you, it is not as good as an official Nintendo controller. I have one and now this is my player 2 (or 3 if you include the Joy Cons) pad or my backup pad. It doesn’t feel as good as the official one, I don’t think it is as well made or with as good plastics as the Nintendo official one, but hey it works well and does everything that the official one does.

So look, I don’t believe in slamming ‘product A’ because it is not as good as ‘product B’. I think that if you know what you are getting and you are comfortable with it then you can’t really complain. This is a budget alternative that works – and that is all that matters really. Don’t expect it to be as nice in the hand as an official Nintendo controller, it feels cheaper becuase it is cheaper. But like I said, if you know what you’re in for and just want a control pad that works then this is a good budget alternative, and like with most things, you’ll get used to the feel of it over time anyway.

This comes in it’s own box and my boys were, and still are, delighted with it.
Pairing it is easy once you know how as I tried all the obvious menus such as Add new controller but that’s not how you do it! Here’s how:
Go to main homepage and then select the joycon icon in circle along bottom of screen.
Then from the menu on right hand side you select “Change Order” NOT add controller etc as you would think.
Once on the Change Order page that we just selected simply hold down the ‘Home’ button on the new controller and keep it pressed down for around 5 seconds. The first time I pressed it down nothing happened, but I then released the home button, left it around 10 seconds then tried again and it showed ‘Paired’ message in top right hand corner and a new Icon that looks like this controller appeared in the empty boxes that were showing on the screen. That’s it all set up and ready to go! From here we just used the controller as you would expect.
The controller is exactly the same size as a standard PS5 controller so suitable for adults or children.
The controller works really well, everything works just as you would want and has the added advantage of having the rumble/vibrate function and my boys love this.
There’s not much more I can add, it’s easy to pair (once you know how!) and it works exactly as it should.
We would definitely recommend this controlle

The design is good with a textured surface and is confortable to hold in the hand, very similar to a Xbox controller in size and layout.

Connection to a switch or PC is straightforward and the range of the controller is more than enough for most rooms.

Charge time is approx 3hours with a usage time of approx 4 to 5 hours, so bear this in mind with any extended gaming sessions.

There are few more functions that maybe useful, like the turbo mode.

Over a wallet friendly nicely designed controller.
