Great addition to my son’s Lego Minecraft collection. Very quick and easy to build. He loves quick build like this and he gets to play with it too with his other Lego.
This is a LEGO Minecraft Steve’s desert expedition set which is one of the small sets which can be used as an add on to other sets and is currently priced at 8.99 which I think is a good price for this.
The instructions were clear and easy to understand, my 5 year old loves to find the pieces needed on each page so loved doing this set and is mad on Minecraft so definitely a hit for any fan, the pieces came in 2 bags and once made there were a couple of extra pieces left over which I always seem to get with LEGO so I was very happy with this set and the quality of the overall look.
I would recommend this set and it would make a great gift.
I was able to get three of these little kits to review at the same time so parts of each review might seem similar.
First off, these little kits are great for a quick build. They are simple to build, not too many parts, reasonable priced and do not take too long at all to make.
This is a great little genuine Lego Minecraft kit for any Minecraft fan.
Perfect gift for a Lego and Minecraft fan! Steve’s Desert Expedition has proven a huge success with my nephew when he came for a visit. Great quality, instructions leaflet is clear. Definitely worth the price and makes an awesome gift.
While the set is easy to assemble, the instructions are clear and you get a decent amount of pieces for the price I dislike the sets resemblance to Minecraft as certain pieces don’t look anything like a product from Minecraft. The phantom, camel and crafting table are close enough but some parts just aren’t reminiscent of anything from Minecraft despite being based on it.
This is a decent little expansion set for the Lego Minecraft range, but perhaps a little lacking as a stand-alone set.
It’s a pretty quick and easy build. From opening the box to having a completed model took around 15 mins. As with all Lego sets, the instructions are nice and clear, and all pieces are nicely made. There are a few printed blocks included (for the chest and the character faces), which is nice to see, as I always thing they work much better than stickers.
The main build is a desert hut, complete with chest and fire. As this is designed to emulate the blocky Minecraft look, it’s pretty basic, but looks OK. There are then three character models – Steve (with enchanted axe), a baby camel, and a Flying Phantom. The baby camel is a first for the Minecraft range, so that adds some interest for collectors.
You get a few spare pieces – two flames, one round and one square stud, and a printed camel face.
As a stand-alone set, this isn’t that great. The hut structure isn’t really big enough and lacks interest for play. However, if you collect the Minecraft range, then this is a nice little add-on set and display model. It would also make a decent, wallet-friendly stocking filler or gift set for a MInecraft fan.
This set has embarked on a blocky adventure, captivating the hearts of my 6-year-old son, with its immersive gaming set. Steve’s desert expedition captures the essence of Minecraft, providing an authentic gaming experience. The attention to detail in the design and elements stays true to the beloved video game, creating a seamless transition from screen to bricks. The inclusion of a desert biome adds a dynamic layer to the playset. My son can explore the sandy landscapes, build structures, and encounter Minecraft creatures, offering a diverse and engaging Minecraft experience within a single set. The buildable house and toy animal contribute to the immersive play experience. Building structures and interacting with Minecraft creatures add depth to playtime, allowing my son to recreate his own unique Minecraft stories. The building challenges presented by this set are age-appropriate, striking the perfect balance between fun and complexity. It ensures an enjoyable construction process while fostering a sense of achievement for young builders. The inclusion of figures, particularly the Minecraft characters, brings the virtual world to life. Kids can role-play with Steve and the other characters, enhancing the imaginative and storytelling aspects of the playset.
Lego Minecraft 21251
A Minecraft Lego set. This is a small set that contains 75 pieces. Its part of the desert exploration set numbered 21251.
This is a relative easy build with the instructions being easy to understand and read through.
you get two bags off brick and two plates which are loose that were not in bags.
For characters you get Steve, Larma and the phantom which stands on a acrylic see through post so it looks as if its flying in the air.
I liked the look of these there simple design and the fact they look like the counterparts in game with the 16 bit or pixel print faces.
The tent is probably a little to small for the character however, he can sit in the tent without any issues.
The quality of the Lego pieces are very good the whole structure was stable it wasn’t wobbly although this is a very small set.
This set does seem to be more to the accessories for the larger Minecraft set which is completely fine. Its priced at around 8.99 which i feel is fair value.
Overall its a quick build, priced fairly, will suit any Minecraft themed Lego set.
As my daughter has been a Minecraft fan for a few years I picked this up for her to try. She’s too old to ‘play’ with Lego but she enjoys the models.
Assembly is very simple and quite quick (you can probably tell that from the product images!). What you are left with is neat little display item that would look great on a shelf.
If this is intended as a gift for a younger child – personally I don’t think there is enough here to keep them engaged too long but for older Minecraft fans that want an ornament it’s pretty good.
