Encaja perfectamente en la Steam Deck, cierra fuerte y se ve muy robusta. Es genial para llevar tu Steam Deck sin miedo a que le pase nada. Adems, tiene el puerto usb-c libre para poderla cargar mientras est protegida.
This is the best SteamDeck accessory I own. It allows you to quickly store your deck with full protection. It also allows you to charge it while your deck is in the case. We have cats and dogs and it offer full protection from pets stepping on it if you have it on your bed or table. It’s also a perfect accessory for throwing your deck into a bag for traveling.
I can’t recommend this case enough. It really was a game changer since it allows me to have my deck nearby without having to have a bulky zip case for getting in those quick gaming sessions whenever I get the time.
TomToc should make this case for all handheld. I would buy one for my Abernic devices or my Legion Go.
Provides a rock solid plastic shell with some tiny rubber panels to keep the deck from sliding. Solidly built with a loud “click” when snapped closed. This is form-fitting, so unclear on if thicker device skins or thumbstick extensions would fit.
You can charge via USB-C port access with the case closed, but the vents are covered, so I would never place a powered-on Steam Deck into the case as there would be no ventilation.
It is not easy to tell visually if the case closure is secured, so be careful picking up the device if you yourself did not recently clamp it down. The closure itself is hard enough to manipulate, that I would trust it in a small bag or backpack.
Not much shock resistance here, as there is no cushioning of note, so while it protects from scratches and pressure from other objects in your bag, I wouldn’t trust protection of the internals from high drops onto hard surfaces.
Overall, worth it if you want slim but solid protection while carrying the Steam Deck in your backpack or messenger bag.
This is an awesome case for your Steam Deck! It’s sturdy, lightweight and fits like a glove. The latch is reassuringly strong. When your Steam Deck is locked in, you can be sure it is safe.
The only thing I would like to see is more rubber pads that create contact with the Steam Deck when it is stored in the case. I can count four in total, which worries me that the Steam Deck may move around when in storage, or if the case is dropped.
I got this case because it is not only the lowest profile I seen for a Steam Deck, but also has a hole for charging the device while keeping it safe. It is fantastic. The fact that is semi-translucent is also very clever because if you own a Steam Deck you know that you have to keep it on while it updates things. This allows you to see the state of the updates/downloads while still having it protected. I really recommend this case
I picked this case over some others because I wanted to put my Steam Deck into my bag and never worry about it. On that front, it’s exactly what I hoped for. The solid construction means the screen and buttons are always safe. I love it.
I’d read other reviewers mention how loud unlocking and locking the case was, thinking it wasn’t that bad but I had no idea.
There is no quiet way to open or close it. I’ve tried. My wife thinks I’ve broken something every time I open or close it. She usually asks “are you okay?” only for me to reply “Yeah I was just getting out my Steam Deck.” It’s kinda insane.
But it does have a passthrough charging port, which I do make use of quite a bit. The case won’t open well if you have a cable in though. The case can also do a fair bit of insulating. One time I shoved it straight into the case after playing a particularly Deck-intensive game and when I came back a bit later, the whole thing was still a bit warm. Since then I try to give Deck more time to cool before I put it up.
If you want maximum protection, it’s hard to deny this case, but if you can’t afford the noise it makes look at other options.
I was sick of carrying around the big zip case every where I went, this case is great for what I needed it for its slim and fits the deck snuggly, now I can just put this in my back pack without it taking up half the space.
Really sturdy and well built case for the steam deck. I also ordered a vinyl decal but I have not applied yet so I am not sure that if it will fit wwith skin or not. Anyway this one is the best case in the market imho. But it is only for carrying. It is not like switch flip cases that we can play and carry at the same time. It came in a resealable plastic pouch. Think they are very confident that nothing will damage the case. Waiting for the binyl skin, I hope it will fit so I can use them both at the same time.
It is literally an outer shell and looks amazing with or without the steam deck inside it and keeps it away from anything that could scratch or break it. I know anytime he takes it out its put in his bag with no worries about it whatsoever.
Something i know for a fact he had issues with when he had a switch because he once took that out and ended up with issues with the controllers where you can see this case specifically has parts where it lumps out and protects them.
I’ve bought a couple of tomtoc’s items before, a small sling bag and a slim case for my Switch OLED. This is extremely well built and the clamp to keep it closed is stronger than it looks. It’s the perfect case for throwing it into any bag that can fit a Steam Deck into while keeping it protected.
Another quality product from tomtoc!
This armour case from TomTom arrived very nicely packaged and I had it out of the packet and placed onto my steamdeck in no time at all to test it out. It fits the console like a glove without touching or putting any pressure on the delicate analogue sticks, triggers, or the touchpads on the unit.
There are a bunch of areas around the case lined with grippy and soft silicone that keep it centred and from touching the hard plastic of the case. Though those small and thin bits of silicone throughout the case are the only thing between your Steamdeck and the hard outer shell, I do worry about how well it’ll handle higher drops and stronger impacts. The case won’t have a problem with the impact or drop but I’m not so sure about the steam deck itself as there isn’t much inside to dissipate or absorb the forces. I’d consider this to just be a more durable protective case for general low force impacts and bumps, rather than the full-on ‘military grade’ case they make it out to be.
The locking latch is definitely on the tighter side and it is somewhat difficult to lock and unlock when you first start using the case, but after a few cycles it gets a bit easier while still keeping the case properly closed.
The hinges for both the locking latch and the lid operate smoothly and are made from thick plastic that is held together with 2mm metal pins. The lid hinges also have a moulded stopper which stops it from opening further than 180 degrees so it doesn’t flop around in the air while opening it.
The standout feature for me is that the case has an opening for a USB-C cable to be plugged into the steamdeck for topping up the battery. Though, on the other hand, it does represent a bit of an issue when it comes to the ingress of dust and other debris in that area. It’s not a huge concern if you look after your gadgets but I would’ve liked to see a small silicone flap or something for covering it up when it isn’t in use.
As for issues or complaints, the only major thing I take issue with is that they’ve marketed this as a splash & dust resistant product in the images. It might be fine for the odd splash of liquid or light dusting, but the case isn’t fully closed off or sealed and I wouldn’t bet or rely on it holding up to a significant spill. If it had a silicone seal on the lip and a cover for the charging port it’d be a welcomed feature but misrepresenting this unsealed case as splash or dustproof isn’t a great look in my opinion. It’s not even a feature I look for in light-weight protective cases like this, but they brought it up in the product images so I wanted to clarify the lack of seals on this case.
Overall, it’s a lovely looking case that I’ve happily used to replace the default one that valve shipped with the console. At the current asking price of 21.24 I’m happy to recommend it if you’re after something far more substantial without buying one of those bulky cases that look like a pelican flight case. Though if you are in fact after a fully waterproof, shock, and impact resistant case that can take major abuse those are actually a good option at around twice the cost and several times the size.
I’ve been using this case for a while now and it’s very impressive. The case feels very protective which gives me confidence when carrying my device around. A really convenient feature is the hole for the charging cable, which allows me to charge my Steam Deck without removing it from the case. It’s a well-designed, and I definitely think it’s a winner!
Fits the Steam Deck perfectly and provides a hard plastic protective boundary around the deck.
The most notable point of this case is that it’s a lot more slim than the original case. There’s a plastic clip that secures the case together which works well and provides easy access to your deck when needed. The other ergonomics of removing the deck out of the snug plastic case have been well thought out and effortless too.
Overall, if you’re a fan of plastic cases and want excellent all round protection for your steam deck, this is an excellent buy.
Although the Steam Deck does come with a case, i prefer this one as it looks more stealth like. This case is very durable and protects the steam deck very well, however i feel the clip on the case is very stiff and a little bit hard to open and close but is probably designed this way so that the case doesn’t accidentally open. Overall a good case to protect your steam deck.
I dove into the world of portable gaming protection with the tomtoc Armor Case for Steam Deck, and I’ve got some insights to share.
Fort Knox for Your Steam Deck: This case is like a superhero for your precious device. The military-grade protection makes it feel like it could survive a tumble down Mount Everest (though I wouldn’t recommend trying that).
Charging Convenience: The charging port hole is a game-changer. You can power up without undressing your Steam Deck from its protective gear. It’s like having a snack without leaving the couch — pure bliss!
Opening Struggle: It’s a bit like trying to open a jar of pickles on the first try — a tad challenging. This could be a minor inconvenience, especially if you’re frequently in and out of the case.
Bulk Be Gone: Unlike the original case, it doesn’t feel like you’re carrying a small suitcase. This case strikes a nice balance between protection and portability.
Overall, a Well-Deserved 4 Stars: Despite the minor hiccup with the opening mechanism, this case is a solid choice for keeping your Steam Deck safe and sound, and charged!
Based on my current experience, this is a great pick for those who prioritize protection and convenience in a Steam Deck case. If anything changes, I’ll update my review.
Very pleased with the steam deck case its made extremely nice and very strong this will keep my sons steam deck very safe in this and it also looks very stylish very good value for money and very easy to use
This is a clamshell type protective case that fits your steam deck.
Very easy to use, just open and place the device inside. Little bit hard to open the case, but that is reassuring that it won’t just fall out. The case fits the device perfectly and no rattling at all.
As for practicality, it’s slightly heavier and in some ways more bulky than the original case and there is no carry handle or no slot for a strap. Probably more likely to drop this than the original case.
The main reason you would go for this (over the original case) is the ability to charge whilst in the case and save room in a rucksack.
At time of writing this review the case was 25, however not convinced it is better than the high quality case the steam deck is provided in. May suit frequent travellers where space in a bag is a premium.
I am very happy with this. It is a great fit for the Steam Deck. The rubber strips keep it above the plastic base and then the top snaps shut locking it in. As the case is so snug is barely makes any difference to the size of the machine so it’s much easier to drop in your bag than the padded cases.
Pros
Well made
Nice looking
Compact
Spaces cut out so that nothing touches the touch pads, sticks etc
Rubber strips protecting the bottom
Best of all you can charge it in the case through the cut out slot
Cons
Due to the charge port hole the case is not waterproof, just splash proof
No rubber seal around the inside rim
No protection on the inside edges, as phone cases have, to cushion the device inside from drops
Softcase offers better drop protection due to padding
The old Steam Deck case will be going in a drawer. This is easier to pack and carry and I like the look of it. Also I can charge in the case. The softcase has better internal padding against drops but I prefer the size of this, I am confident it won’t break on a drop and it looks great. 5* for me.
