Authenticity Tips

  1. VACUUM SEAL

Serious Mass tubs have a cardboard vacuum barrier that helps hold powder in place during shipping. This gloss white protective disk should be stuck to top of the tub.

  2. NECKBAND

In order to conform to the direction of our sustainability policy and goals, we have decided to remove this part of the packaging. Packaging may vary for a certain period of time as this change takes into effect.

  3. FILL SIZE

Due to vacuum packing the tub may appear to be two-thirds full when opened. This is normal as the powder settles and does not impact on or decrease the weight or number of serves listed on the label.

  4. BATCH NUMBER AND DATE

Every Optimum Nutrition product will display a printed Batch Number and Date. The Best Before Date and Batch Codes are located on the side of the tub or the rear of the large bags.

What’s new with Serious Mass?

Not only does Serious Mass have a fresh new look, but it also has added 3 grams of creatine to support your performance.

The label looks different compared to the previous one I got, is it still the same OPTIMUM NUTRITION product?

As you evolve, so do we. The part of our mission is to help active individuals better understand OPTIMUM NUTRITION products. Now choosing the right product for you is easier with more visible product benefits, features and flavours on each tub.

The tub is not full to the brim when opened, why is that?

This is completely normal and is to do with the way the powder is vacuum packed into the tub. The powder settles over time. This does not impact the weight or number of servings listed on the label.

What is the best way to prepare Serious Mass drink?

To get the optimal consistency and prepare your drink in easy and convenient way, we recommend using a blender.

For optimal use, follow serving instructions on pack.

Are the ingredients tested and safe?

All of the ingredients in our products have been approved and considered safe for consumption by the European Food Safety Authority.

Im picky with what I drink when it comes to these, however I’m beyond happy since this one doesn’t give me a blouted belly, I’ve seen improvements and all around tastes good and value is 6/10

    Would recommend if bulking 🙂

Golden Review Award: 6 From Our UsersI’ve been trying to put on weight for over a year , I’m breastfeeding mother constantly on her feet but felt insecure about being underweight I decided to give this who and I’m so surprised it actually works. I take it after I eat my meals because it fills you up for few hours and it tastes really good and I fell as I’m putting on weight slowly which is good because I don’t want to put on too much. 100% recommend 🙂

Been using Optimal Nutrition stuff for years and it’s good quality stuff. Started taking this as a post workout shake so I can get the added carbs I need to drive the muscle recovery. I’m not interested in getting huge as I compete in martial arts and excessive weight only slows me down so I use one scoop instead of two. This gives me 25g protein and 125g carbs. Working out four times per week in the gym on a upper/lower body split, at my repeat sessions I feel I’m not still recovering from the workout a few days before and I’m working harder or for longer.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersI had ordered the same but in vanilla, it was absolutely revolting and it smelled and tasted like a bunch of chemicals I really tried to convince myself it wasn’t that bad but no matter what i mixed it with it was terrible hence why i switched to the strawberry and it tastes amazing, it tastes just like the strawberry nesquick or like a strawberry milkshake. It doesn’t smell chemically at all despite the many reviews where it says it does and in my
opinion it’s the best flavour out of all of them and i think it’s a lot easier to drink if you’re not too keen on using enhancing products like serious mass since you’ll actually enjoy the taste and personally it motivated me to drink it more often and stick to it.

Golden Review Award: 3 From Our UsersThis is one of the best tasting protein shakes I’ve had. However I do find it hard to finish as it is filling and is a lot. I blend mine with ice and water. The ice makes it more like a milkshake. I also add coffee granules or peanut butter to switch the flavour up.
Also I do not get an upset tummy with this one like I have had with other protein powders and not much bloating either.
I have only just got this so I am not able to comment on the weight gain as yet. But here’s hoping.

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our Usersi started going to the gym at the start of 2023, starting off quite skinny, around 49kg, and was struggling putting on extra weight, with this mass gainer I was able to dramatically increase my calories per day very easily and honestly would continue buying more if it wasn’t for the price.
over about 5 months i went from 49kg to roughly 56kg, eating around 2750 calories a day, give or take. this mass gainer really helped me get those last 750 calories and was a really easy way to hit my target. However for the price you can make your own with many recipes online and to be honest, trying to guzzle down a thick, very sweet mass gainer can be quite nauseating at times.
overall this definitely isn’t for everyone but if you are like me, struggle to put on mass and need a quick and easy way of getting extra calories, give this a shot for sure! i would just recommend that you use a blender to mix the powder with milk, otherwise it dose not dissolve very well and ends up being very clumpy.

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersThis tastes amazing. I blend a scoop and a half in the Breville smoothie maker and it’s perfect. It is quite a lot of powder but if you fill it half up with milk (I use soy) then add the powder then finish with as much milk as will fit in it tastes like a store bought milkshake. I add a handful of blueberries too and it tastes almost caramel like! You will definitely need a blender though due to the amount of powder.

I’ve always been really thin but recently became aware that I looked quite Ill- I’m very picky with eating and previously would be constantly starving but didn’t want to eat anything. I’ve been having 3-4 of these a day for the last 2 and a half weeks and I’ve put in just under a stone. I’m not hungry all the time and I have loads more energy- honestly I wish I bought this years ago.

I also bought strawberry which is pretty tasty too, but banana is definitely the nicest in my opinion.

Golden Review Award: 8 From Our Usersfor someone who has suffered from gaining weight and eating disorders, this actually helped me gain weight! ive been training for just over a year with taking this and another supplement and i noticed my weight gain stopped while on another shake but coming back to this shake its going up again. why did i stop? i wasn’t sure if i needed it anymore or not.

as for the taste, its ok, not amazing but its not exactly a sugar milkshake you get at a resturant, it mixes well but i prefer to use an actual mixer rather than shake it, the portions are pretty big and it tastes nicer some how when you blend/mix it (i use milk)

also to note, i only have 1 scoop not 2 and i still have gained a lot of weight, it also lasts twice as long this way, i was around 8 stone now im 10, some belly fat but minimal, can only see while sitting, abs are overated, i’m just glad im healthy weight now!

i wouldn’t drink it if i wasn’t working out or under weight, you’d probably just get fa

Golden Review Award: 11 From Our UsersI’ve been using this product for about 4 months now and feel I’m well placed to cast judgement. I’m a 5″7, 36 year old guy. Before I started drinking this shake I struggled to keep my weight above 10st. Although I’d always eat what I want, my portions were always moderate and even with snacks I’m pretty sure I’d rarely hit a decent calorie intake for the day. I felt stick thin and just blamed my genetics. I’m now coming in at around 11.5 stone. I do moderate at home weight workouts around 3 or 4 times a week, and saw big improvements in my arms and cheast to the point where I am way more confident wearing T-Shirts that actually hug my arms.

I initially started drinking 1 scoop of this stuff a day on top of my normal diet, without counting calories. Now that I’m at a weight I’m happy with, and since the new year, I’ve started really monitoring my calories and using this to ensure I hit at least 2000 per day. Last thing I want is for my weight to start dropping off again.

For anyone wanting to gain weight/muscle, this isn’t a complete solution. Overall diet and exercise is absolutely key. Without the right mix, you will just end up gaining flab and you won’t achieve results if you approach it half-heartedly.

I get the chocolate flavor. I haven’t tried the others. It’s no Cadbury milkshake but you don’t expect it to be. It tastes just fine to me, and with a good blender it’s clump free. Definitely happy with the product and just wish I had started sooner.

Golden Review Award: 20 From Our UsersOkay, this product is amazing! Ive always had poor appetite and thats why I’ve been marginally underweight for many years now. I finally decided I’d man the heck up and do something about my health. If you’re like me, skinny guy tall and petite and you want to try something new, then i recommend you go for it! Im 6 foot 1, was around 141lbs (64KG, ish) a month ago. After finishing the Tub (2.73kg one) in two weeks (Yes, around 16 days ago i bought this, believe it or not) with weight training and sufficient meals I’ve gained just under 15lbs.. i weigh 154.5lbs or something now, and i will say I’ll stick to Serious Mass, unless I’ve reached my goals and want to start maintaining, and im going for the big bag of chocolate flavour now. Im super happy that this is actually working for me, i initially thought i wouldnt like it at all but here i am 16 days later buying it again . The taste is good, very good in fact its better than i expected.

However, I’ve been having it with whole milk the entire time in order to effectively bulk up, and personally i tried it with water and it tasted really bad and i dont know why. I’ve always been one to spit out things i disliked, and to be quite frank, i managed to drink it all with the water so it wasnt too bad i guess. So yeah, and I highly recommend any dudes and dudettes out there looking to bulk, to at least give Serious Mass a try. You can use a 600ml or 700ml protein shaker for one scoop and required milk or water, with anything more than one scoop you cant really mix it after the shake so dont do that. I’ve used a blender with around 700ml of milk and two scoops every day.

    Have a great one

Golden Review Award: 9 From Our UsersWhere to start, so I ordered the 2.5kg tub a week ago. I’m just using this to put weight on, I currently am 6’2 and weigh in at 10st, so I look pretty thin all the time.

I started by making the shakes with water, as I thought that would be the worst tasting version, I use a big jug and a stick blender to make it. I have had other powders and protein shakes in the past which haven’t mixed as well, but this powder is very soluble and there is no nasty clumps.

Making it with water is ok, but it tastes like yahzoo milkshakes (that kind of plastic taste you get from them) but by the third day I’d got used to that.

When made the shakes with water I found that the shake made me feel quite bloated, a 710ml serving makes up just short of 1 pints, and I’d find the last pint a struggle.

So i bought whole milk from the shops so I could make up this shake with milk instead. Again the powder was very soluble in milk and required a quick 20 second blast with the stick blender to mix it up.

This made a massive difference, it tasted like a McDonald’s chocolate milkshake just not as sweet and less thick. I didn’t feel any bloating at all, and could of easily had a second serving straight after. From the calorie count on the back, using whole milk puts a shake at around 1700 calories each. So from now on I’m going to be making it with milk and only make it with water in a pinch.

Weight wise I found other powders didn’t really show me any difference, I didn’t feel any different either. However I’ve only been on this shake for a week and I’ve already felt a difference, i feel better, and I have put on 5kg already. So I’ll be sticking with this powder for the foreseeable.

A small note about making it with water…. I made a shake with water and 2 tbsp of smooth peanut butter and that was much better in taste, but the bloating was still a problem
