My dentist advised me to buy an oral B electric toothbrush with a 2 minute timer and sensor to stop brushing too hard. There are so many to choose from and such a range of prices. The one I chose was one of the cheaper models but it does the job splendidly. And it even flashes to let me know when to recharge it, which is simply done by putting it back on its stand and plugging into the mains. Do not see the point of paying twice or thrice the money I paid for it for something that will only do the same job.
Im not sure how the toothbrush is meant to work but i think its meant to stop when i press too hard. I tried press extra hard to test it but it didnt stop. It does randomly stop at times though which i find interesting but im not too sure how it works. But my teeth feel a lot cleaner i would recommend everyone to upgrade to an electric toothbrush. Also it doesn’t have a travel pod so u will need to buy one
This is a nice, basic, simple electric toothbrush. I’ve found over the years that you don’t need an all singing all dancing model with different settings and app connectivity. This is good enough. It cleans well and does the job as required.
I’ve found that it doesn’t last that long after being fully charged and quickly loses power in a lot less than a week. It works best if left on charge all the time. So if you need it for travelling another model may be better. Also, it’s best to let it fully flatten every month or so and then recharge it, to improve battery health.
Those that say you need a bathroom connection are wrong. You simply need a standard adaptor which are available everywhere.
Recommended if you’re happy with a basic, effective and cost efficient model, used mostly at home and left on charge.
My teeth and mouth have never felt so fresh after using this toothbrush. Holds charge well and an indication light informs you of when charge is needed and when complete.
Well, you certainly waste less energy using one of these instead of a manual tooth brush, but what you do get more of is splatter. Honestly, one pass under the tap and a dab of paste later and there was enough paste, saliva and water on my bathroom mirror to re-float the Titanic. What didn’t end up on the mirror ran down my chin and onto my t-shirt front. I may be doing something wrong, even though I attempted to close my mouth slightly to evade the drenching.
As for my teeth, it’s probably too early to tell if the thing actually makes them cleaner than a regular brush, so time will tell. Still, none of them have been dislodged due to the ferocious speed and vibration of the brush head so I could be on to a winner.
One note of warning – let the brush head do all the work. Don’t rub the brush back and forth across your teeth. Lay it against each tooth in turn for a few seconds and work your way around the mouth. It tells you that in the instructions.
If there is a downside, beyond the splash-back, it’s the ludicrous amount of time the brush takes to recharge. The instructions advise you that when first purchased the thing can take 22 hours – yes, 22 hours(!) – to fully charge. In fact it took less than that, it only took 20…
In the interests of science, I decided to recharge the battery after my first two minute session. It took a little short of 3 hours to get back to full-charge. My advice: if you can, keep the brush in the charging unit at all times – until you want to use it. It probably uses stuff-all; electricity and it’ll save you swearing in the morning when your mirror is coated in gunk and your teeth still look like yellowing tombstones…
But for 30 off the RRP, you probably can’t go wrong…
I have had one of these before and the battery did not last that long (a few months) before its performance started dropping off a little, but you just have to recharge it a bit more often. After a few years I was recharging it nearly every other day, so binned it and got this one. For this reason I will not spend too much on an electrical tooth brush. For the price I paid for this (about 20) you can’t really go wrong. Its got just one mode (power drill mode, ha ha; but seriously it’s got a strong pulsating action which might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it does a brilliant job of cleaning your teeth), it hasn’t got an overpressure warning light like my last one had, but I won’t miss it because it seemed like one of those things which seems like a good idea but is otherwise useless; you would have to be pressing stupidly hard for it to come on. By the way this unit is compatible with different types of Oral B brush head. It has a low charge warning light and also a light which flashes on and off when it’s being charged (handy for reassurance that the charger is actually working). It takes a long time to fully charge, about 20 hours or so, and that is because it is a ontactless charging system – there is no direct electrical contact between the charger and the brush, for safety reasons as it might be used in a bathroom; there is a coil inside the brush at the bottom which picks up the electromagnetic effect of the charger and transfers the energy to the battery (I know this because I took my old one apart to see if I could just change the battery but you can’t without wrecking the whole brush – very clever design to make you buy a new unit! Overall I am happy with this brush; it does what it’s supposed to do very well (cleans your teeth) without all the extra frills which would add to the expense, and which you would probably not use much anyway. I would only give it four stars though, because I haven’t got faith that the battery will keep its youthful performance for very long, although at this price I think it is superb value for money.
