Choosing What’s Right for You
Now that your child has a whole new, edible world to explore, meals become one big adventure. What you use to feed your wee one should make life easier for you and more fun for them.
We have been having trouble finding bibs that fit our child across the shoulders because they tend to sag down at the front if they are too big at the neck. This bib fastens securely at the back and stays in the right place while our child eats.
The fabric wipes clean easily and machine washes, and takes maybe half an hour to dry so it’s very quick. The size is good for a baby of maybe 10 months onwards but most suitable for maybe 12-18 months.
Nice little watwrproof bib, I do need to use with another cloth or dribble bib to stop it going down babys neck (but have same issue with all of these type bibs). I have a 7.5 month and have to roll the arms up and the stitching has a few stray threads (see photo post dinner time!), but should last as she grows – does collect the majority of spit out and dropped food, sonis an essential item – cute patten and easy to wash in the sink.
This is a lot like a rain coat that catches food. Really easy to wipe down, and nothing gets through it. But it’s just a bit big. I think the lower end of the size scale should be moved up a bit. I thought maybe the elasticated wrists would be able to just hold the sleeves up but they don’t and aren’t adjustable. I’m sure it will be good for use in a few months but not usable right now and it should be based on the size guide. It isn’t very adjustable. The print is good quality and looks like advertised and it does seem to work well but I have just not been able to make full use of it yet because of the size.
I hate messy feeding time! I hate having to virtually hose down my grandchild after a meal! But this is an excellent coverall and much easier to wipe down than a squirming toddler. I think I would have preferred it to close with Velcro rather than poppers but that’s a minor quibble. Nice design. There are various to choose from. A real boon for those who hate mess!
These are my favourite sort of bibs for weaning and children feeding themselves. They really come into their own from 1ish when they want to begin to feed themselves. If you can get over the mess, this will give you more independence at meal times. Rather than you feeding them, they feed themselves and the high chair and the floor, and their clothes, hence the need for waterproof bibs with sleeves. It’s a big milestone. The sleeves on this really do help cut down on the mess. I always buy/order these to make up baby baskets for everyone who has babies in the family as I think they really help on cutting down on washing …
Happy to recommend, this print is super cute, unisex, so ideal if they end up having one of each!
I got this weaning bib for my baby boy (nearly 8 months). The bib is well made, it has 2 strong press-studs at the back of the neck, which I think is much more secure than the usual Velcro you get. The dinosaur design is very cute, and the material is easily wipe-able.
The reason for my 4/5 stars, is because even though I ordered the Small size, the bib is too big! (see my photo) He’s quite a big chunky boy for his age, but the arms are much too long. I tried pushing them back, but the elastic around the wrists isn’t good enough to keep them up, and they covered my baby’s hands. Obviously, this isn’t good when he’s learning to feed himself/grab food and the spoon etc. I’m disappointed as I wanted to use it straight away, but can’t.
Otherwise, I can’t fault it. It’s a lovely bib, and I can’t wait to use it properly, once he’s grown a bit over the next few months.
Love how well this bib works! Saves so much cleaning time! And best bit? The bib is super easy to clean! And the baby stays clean! Definitely a must have!
This all enveloping feeding bib comes in various designs and we like the baby owl version. You can choose your size so we went for Medium, suitable for 12 – 24 months which is the messy self feeding stage. The bib covers arms, body and has a capacious pocket for spilled food and liquids. It is, soft and flexible, easy to wipe clean or wash. There is a stage with all little ones where you simply have to cover them up as they eat, this serves that purpose well. My only quibble is that the neck fastening is with two poppers, less size adjustable than velcro. There is an odd smell when you first release the bib from the vacuum packaging but it dissipates after airing.
