Brought for one purpose but is very useful for different devices. Had issues finding the right charger and size for a speaker and this has the options to change power and connections. If you lose chargers like me this is a handy one to keep in a kitchen draw ! Very impressed with this.
This is an excellent universal power supply that will power a wide range of devices, up to 12V/3A. I have already used it to power a wildlife camera, diffuser and a motorised telescope all with different voltage requirements. There is a dial to set your output voltage (with a ‘key’ in the pack for the slot if you do not have eg a screwdriver to hand), I like this design as it makes it harder to accidentally move or knock the output voltage to an incorrect setting. It comes with a wide range of adapter sizes, including micro USB (but sadly not USB C) and an open connector giving you lots of flexibility for extension cables and alternative wiring. In summary; this universal power supply gives you lots of options as a backup to an OEM plug or to give you an alternative method of powering or charging a wide range of devices and I recommended it.
I’m not an expert on chargers or charging devices, but I’m quite pleased with this Outtag universal charger – I think it’s a great idea! The charging plug has a dial on the bottom that you can adjust from 3v to 12v. It comes with a small key to change the voltage setting, plus 8 “heads” of different types and sizes. The heads just snap on and off from the cable – super simple. The micro USB pin is great for my phone, and charges it as fast as the original / official charger BUT has a longer lead, which personally is such an improvement.
I really wanted to try this on an old massage gun that has lost it’s charger, but while there’s a pin that fits, the design of both pin and massage gun means they don’t quite fit together. That said, I know the charger works as I dismantled the gun to test it and it works fine. The moral is, check your device design AS WELL AS the voltage and amps for each one to make sure it works. But for around a tenner or so, the flexibility of this plug would be worth a go.
