Old keyboard died after many years of reliable service. This one has all the features I need.
Good with gaming
Num keypad
volume and video play keys
Nice and responsive
No faults so fa
Great modern keyboard for the price. Bought this as a second keyboard but think I might promote it as my primary over my Logitech Carbon. Key feel is good, back lighting is excellent and configurable. Really like this produc
While the overall feel and build of this keyboard is good, it is not for the avid gamer. After 2 months the WASD keys are all showing signs of wear. While it was fairly cheap, and I am a heavy gamer I would still expect a brand like Razer to last a bit longer.
A pity because I like the keyboard otherwise.
Good quality, good features and works very well, the icons/ writing is a little small and not as much light as some others I’ve had but you don’t buy them as a night light.. came well packaged and protected.
I purchased this in the sale and for the price its great value.
Pros – Quality is good, key presses aren’t overlay noisy but are responsive, has media buttons within function keys despite not having dedicated media buttons. RGB lighting is nice and the USB lead is nice and long.
Cons – None really! I’d prefer a optional wrist rest included but I guess at this price point thats maybe not expected.
Overall I’m happy with this keyboard and would reccomend it to others (just maybe wait for the sale as it seems to come up in sale quite often!)
I bought this keyboard to finally replace my cheapo one I’ve had for years. Purchased this on the prime day sale for 19.99, now, at that price, I’d say this is a good well made keyboard worth the money, but at the RRP of about 55 I’d be quite disappointed.
It just feels and looks like a nicer standard keyboard. Keys feel a little spongy but nothing that you’ll notice unless this is a replacement for a higher end mechanical keyboard that you have had before. All in all, worth the 19.99 price tag but I would not recommend buying at full retail price.
I had the first version of this keyboard and I thought THAT was worth the money, this is worth it even more due to the great media keys which are perfect for music and volume control. The lights are great, you can set a specific colour and they don’t seem to forget which colour backlight you had every five minutes like the V1 did. The keyboard could use a wristrest if I weree to have a small complaint but for the price you can’t really expect that. One flaw is that there seems to be certain keys i.e. the backspace key which start to squeak after a while. I fixed this by removing the keycap and applying a small amount of WD-40 to the bars underneath, this seems to fix the issue.
I bought this for myself for Christmas on behalf of my wife (typical)….
Like marriage, it was great to start off with and I enjoyed a happy 30 minutes messing about with Synapse programming the colours – you literally can do anything with Synapse – apart from shut it up with it’s updates every few weeks.
Now I’ve been with this keyboard for a while the magic is starting to wear thin….
Annoyance 1: When your PC goes to sleep, obviously the Synapse software that runs the RGBness ceases to run. Keyboard defaults to fade in and out of every colour of the rainbow. To be fair all Razer products do this (as far as I’m aware and I’m more than willing to be proven wrong). I just find it a little distracting when I’m at my desk and it’s “flashing” at me. (…and before someone starts saying I could just turn off power-to-USB in the BIOS… I knowwww. I just don’t want to).
Annoyance 2: I thought that this was going to be a major up-shift in quality to the stock brand keyboards that I’ve always used and – well – it is and it isn’t. It feels marginally better built than the 25ish fake RGB keyboard I was using before but I swear I could type better on my old one. There’s an awful lot of key wobble when I’m typing and I find that I tend to slip off the key and hit two keys at once. I haven’t gamed much on it yet but if we end up working from home ever again… or I have to do a lot of typing at home… this wouldn’t be my choice.
Annoyance 3: At this price point I think a braided flex should be stock???!!!
Over-all though, if you want a bit of desk-bling, this isn’t a BAD shout. It’s not going to be everlasting bliss for me though.
(PS – I love my wife dearly. Thank you for letting me buy myself a colourful keyboard)
I’ve always been one to buy cheaper brands of keyboards, sometimes keyboards with no brand at all. When it came to my annual replacement as my old keyboard was half dead and literally warped, I thought I’d give this keyboard a go. After all Razer is a reputable company and highly sought after, so I gave it a shot.
I have to say, I wasn’t expecting too much as the price point for this board was around 20, normally for this price I’d be looking at knock-off’s or poorly made items. That’s not the case with this board, it feels good, durable and strong there’s hardly any give in the board and the plastic feels nice. The RGB is a nice touch too, especially since other boards round this price point only have static non-changeable colours. The RGB isn’t in your face either, it’s noticeable but subtle enough no to distract you during gameplay.
All in all I am definitely surprised, it’s responsive quiet, and I simply can not get over the fact that it offers so much quality for it’s price.
I can definitely say I will be buying more of Razers products to see what else they have to offer!
