Fits my GoPro hero plus.
Firstly, let’s talk about the versatility of this kit. With 12 different mounting options included, it offers a wide range of possibilities for securing my action camera to various surfaces and accessories. Whether I’m biking, skiing, surfing, or simply capturing everyday moments, this kit has the right mount for the job.
One of the standout features of this kit is the adhesive buckle mount. It provides a secure and stable attachment to my helmet, ensuring that my camera stays in place even during high-intensity activities. The adhesive backing is strong and reliable, giving me peace of mind knowing that my camera is securely mounted.
I also appreciate the screw accessory kit included in this package. It contains various screws and adapters that allow me to customize the mounting setup according to my needs. Whether I’m mounting my camera to a tripod, selfie stick, or other accessories, this kit provides the necessary hardware for a secure and stable connection.
In terms of build quality, I’m impressed by the durability of the mounts. They are made from high-quality materials that can withstand the rigors of outdoor adventures. Whether I’m exploring rugged terrain or facing extreme weather conditions, I can trust that these mounts will hold up to the challenge.
Installation of the mounts was straightforward and hassle-free. The adhesive backing adheres firmly to the surface, and the mounting process requires minimal effort. Within minutes, I had my camera securely attached and ready to capture epic footage.
Overall, I’m highly satisfied with this mounting kit for action cameras. Its versatility, durability, and ease of installation make it a must-have accessory for any action camera enthusiast. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie seeking adventure or a casual user capturing everyday moments, this kit has everything you need to elevate your filming experience. Highly recommended!
For the price you won’t find a better set of extra parts anywhere. They’re on par with GoPro attachments in terms of build quality and adhesiveness, but you’re not paying the price you would just because they’re from GoPro. I’d definitely recommend. I’ve used SameTop gear for a long time and it has never failed me, looking forward to see what else they come out with soon.
Sametop’s Helmet Sticky Mounts are a breath of fresh air in the realm of action camera accessories. The variety of mounts provided caters to all my needs, ensuring a versatile solution for capturing moments from various angles.
Crafted with precision, the mounts showcase impeccable moulding and machining, reflecting a commitment to high-quality production. The addition of a locking plug instills confidence that the buckle will stay securely in place, preventing any unexpected mishaps during action-packed adventures.
The adhesive, courtesy of 3M’s VHB 4991, exhibits exceptional strength, firmly bonding the mount to your helmet. Once attached, rest assured it won’t budge, emphasizing the importance of thoughtful placement. The thumbscrews, with their ample length, contribute to the overall robustness of the setup, making adjustments a breeze.
Having experienced other mounts in the past, Sametop’s offering stands out as a superior choice. The attention to detail, durability, and secure locking mechanism make it a notable upgrade in the world of action camera accessories.
In conclusion, Sametop’s Helmet Sticky Mounts receive my wholehearted recommendation for their outstanding quality and reliability.
I needed these generic action camera mounts (e.g. for GoPro, Osmo etc.) and was pleased to discover this kit by Sametop, particularly the curved mounts.
The kit came packed in a sleek, white retail box containing:
x3 Flat Mounts
x3 Curved Mounts
x2 Vertical Buckles
x2 Short Mount Buckles
x2 Thumb Screws
The plastic material used felt premium/durable and not cheap; the mounts were pre-fitted with the familiar brand 3M VHB adhesive patches, known for their weatherproof performance.
The conventional flat mounts will replace the old ones on my mountain bike, snowboard and FPV.
I like:
— The curved mounts which I needed for mounting on both bike and ski helmets
— The rubber locking plugs on the buckles; very vital for preventing accidental release
— The x2 thumb screws with good sized heads
This is a high quality set of action camera mounts that is definitely worth the investment.
I’ve been trying to find a secure way to fix a GoPro to my mountain biking helmet for a while, so I thought I would grab this product and see how it did. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s very easy to attach to the helmet and the camera is held very securely, it didn’t come loose even after I took a nasty spill in the woods. The kit has different options dependent upon exactly where and how you want to attach your camera. The pieces are very robust and should easily take whatever you can throw at it. The value for money is top notch too. So, to summarise, very robust, secure, great value for money and different fitting options. It’s a win all around.
Absolutely love that these have the rubber gap filler that keeps the clips forced apart.
My GoPro originals rattle and shake about now on the mount on my bike as they’ve become older.
I needed new set of mounts as I’ve changed helmets twice since buying my GoPro and it only came with 2 mounts and being fitted with 3M pads, once they’re stuck they’re stuck for good!
This mounting kit also comes with 3M pads. But at least there’s 2x curved and 2x flat mounts. So will cover my next helmet too.
I got these mounts for my DJI Osmo Action 3 so that I could fix it to my cycling helmets.
You get six adhesive base mounts, 3 flat and 3 slightly curved, four mounts that slide into the base mounts, and 2 screws.
It works well with very good adhesion so I don’t think it is likely to fall off.
Good selection of helmet mounts which we needed after getting new helmets for the kids. Good quality fittings with quality 3M adhesive strips to attach them. The buckles also have the rubber ‘blockers’ to stop them accidentally coming undone which is nice to see.
The Sametop Sticky for action cameras ships in a plastic organising tray a set of 3 flat and 3 adhesive sticky plates. These use 3m adhesive with a little bit of foam to help them stick to uneven surfaces. I have used one to mount an action camera onto my dive camera mount, which is a similar plastic to bike and motorbike helmets. The dive camera surface was flat, so I used a flat mount. 60 seconds holding it in place it has held firm through 3 open water dives now. Besides the sticky mounts you also get four mounting options; and two thumbscrews to hold your camera in place.
There are two styles; one is a little lifted up and the other holds the camera closer to the plate. Both styles work fine with my GoPro hero 12. The mounts seem well formed; there aren’t any surface seams or defects on mine. The retaining screw works with the original thumbscrew and the two that are included just fine (I like using longer screws that don’t stick under the camera the two that are included don’t do that.) The plastic fins that hold the camera put up good resistance; even in current my cameras did move around.
The adhesive mounts also work with the GoPro original mounting foot. If you need some extra mounting points these are a good kit. The flimsy plastic tray they ship in is useful for organising the parts if you don’t have a storage solution already.
I love these connectors.
It’s important to note that these are not the usual cheap plastic mounts for GoPro cameras – they are way better quality and definitely on a par with the original GoPro mounts. They come with the rubber clip-lock that is not present on cheaper units, and they are therefore far more secure. Also, the adhesive pads are 3M – again the best, and not used on cheaper units.
I earlier bought a Sametop chest mount and used it for skiing in Italy last week. The chest mount is amazing quality and again far better than the usual cheap chest mounts, and I find that these GoPro connectors work fantastically well together – tight and secure.
My main point to emphasise is that you might pay slightly for these mounts – but you are getting a really high quality product to keep your valuable GoPro safe and secure. I agree with other reviewers who state these are as good quality as the original GoPro mounts – no doubt about it. A brilliant product at a really good price!
If you are an avid GoPro user like me, you can never have enough mounts to attach to various surfaces, helmets, sports gear and more. This expansion kit gives you everything you need: 3x curved adhesive mounts, critical for proper adhesion on curved surfaces like helmets, 3x flat adhesive mounts, 2x low profile buckles, 2x raised profile “J” buckles, and 2x thumb screws. Three super aspects to this kit:
1. The adhesive material is genuine 3M VHB super high strength adhesive. This is not a cheap copy, and you don’t have to worry about your gear falling off
2. Each of the low profile and J buckles have rubber inserts which makes it impossible for them to come off accidentally. You have to lift the safety rubber first and then unclip. A second level of security
3. The thumbscrews have two raised sides (so 2 ridges, not four), which makes it easier to get a very tight grip compared to conventional 4-ridge screws.
A superb kit and another consistent winner from Sametop
I usually buy brand name as they’re usually better quality, but these are a pleasant surprise. Everything is machined correctly and you can easily mix and match between genuine items and these without issue. The 3M sticky pads are high strength (genuine VHB – once it’s stuck, it’s stuck) and there’s no wobble when mounted on a bike, and the rubberised locking mechanism works well and feels solid. Everything is as it should be – high quality and at a price point that’s reasonable. Great pack! Recommended if you have an action cam.
Ordered these to attach my GoPro to my helmet and within the car as a permanent attachment point. I’ve been using many different mounts for a while some work better then others, but the sick on ones like this kit are unbearable for stable camera footage.
The kit comes with some spare screws which are super helpful to have, lost count of how many of them I’ve lost. There is two different styles of base stick on mount one with a flat bottom and one with a curved bottom. They are also different levels of lift on the click on attachment. One higher then the other.
The tape provides a very tough mount and haven’t have the tape fail or the camera to come loose. Overall this is a great kit that I’d definitely order ain’t.
This is a review of the “Sametop Helmet Sticky Mounts Adhesive Buckle Mount Screw Accessory Kit Compatible with GoPro Hero 12 11 10 Max 9 8 7 6 5 Session DJI Osmo Action Cameras (12 in 1)”
The arrived in fairly basic retail-type packaging consisting of an outer branded box and inside this were the mounts in plastic moulding.
The mounts themselves have kind of a matt/satin type finish — a good quality finish I have to say with no obvious flaws in the plastic.
For some reason, I had been expecting the sticky pads to be separate but they are in fact already attached to the mounts so you just have to deal with the other end! These are the best pads you can get, the 3M VHB type that are used when an ultra-strong bond is really important — like on these action cameras and on dash cams etc. If you need to remove, a good tip is to use dental floss or fishing line to ‘saw’ through the pad, then clean up with isopropyl alcohol!
I don’t actually own a GoPro — but I do have a cheapo GoPro clone and these fit it perfectly and apparently very securely with a great locking mechanism.
Recommended.
These are well packaged and they are also good quality. You get 2 short and 2 long necked mounts with 3 of each curved orflat adhesion pads. You lnly get 2 screw elements though so you need 2 more of those if you want to use all 4 mounts.
The mount sticky is proper VHB and it sticks to anything really well.
Not much else to say really. For 15 it was decent vaoue for money
I’ve had many GoPro mounts over the years, some were ok, some were very good, these are great.
They have an innovative rubbing locking mechanism which is difficult to show in photos.
You flip the rubber fitting up and slide the GoPro mount onto the rails and mount that fiut to your crash helmet or device. The rubber fitting then pushes down to lock the slide in place.
I’ve seen many that just have the push in clips but none that have the rubber locking mechanism. They are great.
In the pack you have 6 sticky mounts to fit to your helmets (Mixture of flat and curved sticky pads) etc, then 4 connection brackets of 2 different sizes that fit to your GoPro(s)
You only have 2 screws that is a little annoying as you could have up to 4 brackets in use, but you can easily move the screws between devices.
Excellent value for money and I love the innovative rubber locking mechanism.
I’ve acquired a lot of these fittings with assorted action cameras most of which are cheap and brittle plastic prone to breaking.
These have a nice solid feel to them with a neat locking tab to secure .
Possibly a bit expensive for what they are but they feel reasonable quality.
Good little kit, plenty stick on mounts that stick securely using 3m pre attached pads. They do a great job. 4 fixings and 2 screws. The fixings are good quality with rubber inserts to make sure they stay in place once mounted. Good quality and good value.
This arrived in a branded cardboard box, each component is set in plastic with great instructions.
The brackets are very high quality indeed, there is not a scratch or loose piece of plastic anywhere. The metal pieces are just as high quality and clearly exceed a standard bolt or screw – impressive.
The fit exactly as you would expect in a precise and accurate way. I noticed the tape on the back of some items is 3M VHB which is very high quality tape (Very High Bond).
All in all, a precision made high quality set of mounts that are very high quality.
Pros
* Different to the run of the mill — a bit better
Cons
* A little more expensive than comparable sets.
I have a bunch of similar non genuine Go Pro style mounts bought many moons ago. They actually carry a Sony camera on my helmet. The actual curved and flat mounts here are just like any of the others you can find easily. They are not quite as good as genuine Go Pro ones as they are not quite as strong.
You can tell by looking underneath the raised parts of the mounts. If you look at these or any of the other knock-offs, you’ll find it hollow and you can see the back of the adhesive tape. Genuine ones are solid here. But, I’ve not had a problem with this part of a mount, so it’s perhaps not a big deal.
The bits that tends to break (if anything) in my experience are the bendy prongs on the removeable part. The good news here is that the removeable part is teh bit that’s different and it looks to be a better (less brittle) plastic in addition to other benefits.
The bigger difference is the rubber “plug” which can be pushed down to prevent it unclipping (see video). This is a neat idea. Again — I’ve never had a problem with a mount coming undone, but if you were unlucky and were to knock one “just so”, I guess it could happen. This is an extra layer of reassurance, so why not?
The female threaded part is noticeably different being not a shiny dome nut, but a flat profile stainless steel looking item. The overall effect is good and it suggests attention to detail and being serious to make something worthwhile rather than the cheapest possible.
That seems good given that you’ll be mounting something expensive on these. Which brings me to the adhesive. They say genuine 3M VHB and the tape is certainly branded as such, but there is a lot of fake VHB out there (not accusing). It looks just like the old ones I have. With my old ones (which have been mounted for a few years), whatever came with them worked really well (stick well and can be removed with the help of a hairdryer). Just make sure to clean the surface with some isopropyl alcohol ideally.
The overall pack is a bit more expensive than comparable sets of mounts. So you’d need to weight up if you’re happy to pay the extra for the rubber doo-dah and slightly different build of the removeable part. I think I would pay the extra as I’d hate to be thinking that I should have as my camera bounces down a road . I think there’s some real thought and effort gone into these and the presentation of the product (including a video of real use) etc suggests that the different part is better.
Firstly these mounts are well packaged – in purpose designed plastic moulds. Why does that matter? It inspires confidence that corners aren’t being cut – no-one wants cheap plastics or sub-standard adhesives.
And so it proves – these are easily the best helmet mounts I’ve had. The way they lock into place is brilliant – it’s difficult to explain but basically there is a solid rubber bung that prevents the mount from unlocking from the base and even when that is moved out of the way you need to presss two tabs together – it’s not coming out if you don’t intend it to.
The adhesive is 3M VHB and so it’s as reliable as you can get – which is important with a 400 plus action camera of course. In my experience you would want your helmet to be at room temp before applying, cleaned ideally with alcohol, and then pressure applied for two minutes then left overnight before putting any weight on it.
There are 4 mounts in total, two flat, two curved and they each come with 3 seperate bases. Very generous, especially if you use multiple helmets or do multiple sports. Two of the mounts are curved and match my POC helmet nicely.
I can highly recommend this pack, very impressed.
3M adhesive ensures good adhesion for the baseplate (allow 12-24 hours for maximum adhesion)
The go-pro style mounts have a rubber boot to ensure there is no accidental release (see pics attached).
Four mounts with two different heights and six bases along with two thumbscrews.
The different heights are useful depending on the accessory used.
Work well for all go-pro type mounted accessories
I used one for my Exposure torch and it works very well (see pic)
Allows you to have base plates left on equipment and then can clip the go-pro style mount on in a second, with a reassuring ‘click’.
Useful to have a few spares in the garage so they can be fixed onto new items as time progresses.
These seem decent quality mounts. The sizing and compatibility seems spot on and I tried a couple of older Go Pros in their cases and a Hero 10 and everything fitted together perfectly.
The 3M pads seem the same as what the oem mounts come with and the clips with the rubberised locking section work well and feel solid when in place.
I will say the screw design is a bit fiddly, rather than the four grooved sides these usually have it just has two and they are very smooth. It make it a bit more fiddly and slower to turn and if you are wearing gloves its not going to be easy to use at all. They could certainly improve the design of that part slightly.
But that minor gripe aside these work just as they should and seem a fair price for the number of mounts you get.
I was not expecting these to be as good as they are!
I always buy genuine mounts since aftermarket ones I tried have been poorly made, especially the gap of the ‘fingers’ that match up with the GoPro camera’s attachment, any slight difference in the thickness of them or if there is a gap, when you tighten the clamp screw it can stress and break the fingers of the mount.
These SameTop ones though, are really decent. My last photo shows the fit when paired up with the GoPro camera mount, it’s perfect, easily as good as the genuine gopro mounts.
Looking underneath the reinforcing plastic webbing is just as good as genuine too.
These have a matt finish compared to the shiny plastic genuine GoPro mounts.
I’ve been using the mounts for 2 days now riding my motorbike and they perform as good as genuine ones, the 3M VHB sticky pads hold strong(VHB is the same spec that GoPro use, it’s short for Very High Bond 3M sticky pads, basically a higher strength bond than regular 3M sticky pads can achieve), there is no wobble when the quick clip is slid into the fixed mounts, they are as good as the GoPro parts which is a big surprise to me.
If I have any failures over time i will update my review, but I will be purchasing some more of these if they do last a decent length of time they are very good!
I have one of the Sametop chest mounts that i purchased instead of the GoPro versions based on glowing reviews and ive not been dissapointed.
This mount set follows on in that im just as pleased with these, the quality is really good with what looks to be stainless steel hardware and robust plastics. The self adhesive pads are also really secure ( remember to degrease the surface properly first ) .
I havent any issues at all as yet and have loads of spare mounts now at a great price!!
These work a treat, seem sturdy and good quality
When using the stick side, I find it easier to make sure the surface is degreased like meths, then it sticks a treat
Like these
GoPro mounts and the adapters are ubiquitous nowadays, so it’s nice to see this product is a simple pack of mounts to be used with those adapters.
The amounts appear to be made of a decent quality plastic with good backing tape, which means they should be sturdy. I am using one on my motorcycle windscreen to mount my 360 camera and it has held fine.
You get in the box what is shown in the pictures, so don’t be surprised with what turns up. The mounts are well-made, simple and sensibly priced.
I’m pleased to recommend this product to others.
I have a few helmets (couple of motorbike + push bike) and so spare mounts are always useful to mount my helmet camera.
These are fairly common mounts now for most camera’s but worth checking if they are right for you. The best thing is they come with proper 3M adhesive pads, which I’ve never had fail on any of my helmets. Always clean the area of course (I use IPA as it’s not too aggressive and cleans grease off nicely) and then the 3M sticks down really solidly.
Comes with flat and curved mounts which is useful and also the ‘buckle’ is a nice touch which I’ve only seen recently, and helps ‘lock’ the mount in place once fastened. I’ve never had these type of clips fail anyway, but it’s a nice reassuring extra.
Overall really decent mounts with the all important 3M pads.
