Ordered this to replace the old shower sink plug which has worn out after years of use. This is compatible with the shower sink and fits perfectly. The material and craftmaship of this product is average and feels less solid and sturdy but easier to clean than the old one. It does it job to catch the hair.
It fits and there is nothing wrong with it. Unfortunately there is something wrong with the plumbing in my house. The water pipes in the bathroom are nearly horizontal meaning it takes a long time for water to drain away. This is a problem because when we replaced the original shower drain with this new one the fit was not super tight. When water was poured down the sink the water wouldn’t disappear instantly down the drain and instead it would gather in the pipe. As this new shower drain is not a super tight fit the water gathered below and around it lifted it up out of the hole. We had to put the original shower drain back in as it was designed for that particular hole and has a very tight fit. The original stays in place when water gathers under and around it while the new one would lift out of place. So as far as I’m aware this is a fine shower drain but due to my specific pipe draining issues it was not useable.
Its OK and I can see no reason why it won’t work if fitted correctly. Be very careful to ensure its the right size as 90mm are not the most common size for older shower drain pipe outlets. I’ll be keeping it as a spare/backup as it doesn’t look or feel quite up to the quality of our existing shower waste trap. But then again for less than 15.00 is about what I’d expect.
Needed a new one of these as the one we had was losing its chrome finish. This fitted perfectly and was in in seconds.
Hard to give too much of a detailed review. It feels a little lightweight but certainly strong enough. Last one we had lasted 3 years before it looked shabby. Let’s hope this one has a similar lifespa
So I got this on a whim, thinking that it would fit my new shower in the drainage plug. I don’t think my drain is very good, and I was hoping this would solve the issue. However, it’s a fixed unit inside the shower cubicle so this one will not fit inside. I tried to make it work, but unfortunately it hasn’t so I’ve only given it four stars for that reason but I’m sure it will work perfectly in the correct size shower tray.
It is chrome-painted pastic, screwed with one screw to black ABS type plastic. It looks good – though I don’t know how long it will last compared with a metal alternative.
This is good value replacement if you have to new 90mm size shower traps that go into the high-flow “power showers”. In ours it works well without creating a backlog flooding the shower tray.
Just be certain it is the correct size – the 90mm is relatively new and many of you will have the old UK standard drain which this DOES NOT fit.
