Mine had splitting on the top surface at one end and the joint wasn’t flush (I managed to push the joint back in).
Having said that, it is a nicely finished item which is well designed and fits together in a very sturdy way – everything lined up accurately!
Seeing as the damage was only minor and I bought it on a daily deal, I decided not to complain.
It looks really great as a piece of furniture. In my case it will be hidden away in a cupboard under some stairs, but if you have it in a place were it will be seen: looks great
Frankly I am very pleased with this buy.
What a great product. They packed it very well. I loved the assemble part. It took like 2 mins to assemble whole thing. At the first I was scared to sit on it, because it looked like a toy, but I was needed to make sure that advertisement was correct… And it holds! By the way- it looks amazing. My whole family loves it. I also like that included some extra screws and bolts (just in case you would broke something). I really recommend it for the price. There is one thing, I would add some rubber covers for the “legs”. If you have a wooden floor it may scratch the floor. But it just a thought…
It was nicely packed and looked good from the start. The instructions were clear but assembly was a little fiddly to get it to stand without any wobble on our level wood floor.
It certainly does the job and looks good. It is ‘just’ bamboo but reasonably finished. I’m thinking of getting another for the back door!
I like bamboo and this is maintenance free, sturdy and looks good in my hallway. Very handy for sitting on to change shoes or to rest shopping on. Good purchase. If you have enough room get a bigger one. The space I had available was restricted but I measured it first and it fits perfectly.
Really sturdy and easy to assemble. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the shelves are a teeny bit too short to fit walking boots in. Other than it’s great 🙂
UPDATE Having been in contact with Songmics who offered me a refund to cover cost of missing nuts and trouble. This I view as good customer care and service and the refund was duly made. I am more than happy to upgrade my star rating to 5 star. Thank you Songmics.
Does what I want from it well, holds four pairs of size 7 boots and two pairs shoes well, looks ok, but I only sat on it once – didn’t feel too strong but I’m 194 lbs
There is just enough space under the bottom row for sandals / flat girly shoes.
During assembly, one of the screw holes didn’t quite line up properly on one of the racks (a quality control issue?). However, there are 8 screws holding each rack, which i feel is overkill, so I just left one out and it is still perfectly solid.
Note that the word “Songmics” is branded / burnt into the wood on one of the long sides of the top section, so I have this side facing the wall…!
Well made, great design. Easy to assemble. The only reason I gave only 4 stars is that the finish needed some sanding on the edges – bamboo splinters are worse than those we experience from tree wood.
Some screw holes didn’t line up properly but by loosening other screws I managed to force it all together OK. It looks nice and was delivered quickly. I does creak and crack when you sit on it but its holding up OK and I’m not sure it’s meant for sitting on. Overall, for the price, I’m happy.
This Shoe rack is of good build quality however the 1st one that was sent to me had incorrectly drilled holes, therefore the legs did not go on straight. The team at Sogmics have however sent me a new one with no questions asked, which is now straight & the legs are all aligned.
Sturdy, easy to put together, nice looking. Only small issue right at the end was one screw without a head and a bolt instead of an insert lock thingy. So one screw not able to be installed – but not the end of the world as they are paired and it’s only for a light load. About 20 times better than shoe racks on here for 10.
I’m still not giving five stars as the screws are still rusty (though they work perfectly fine), however, I upgraded my rating from three stars to four. The customer service is wonderful and I have no doubt that if you have any issue with the product, they will do their utmost to help you resolve the issue for free. So if you want a decent, affordable shoe rack/bench, you can’t go wrong with this.

The supplied screws came tarnished/rusty, and the last screw refused to fit in properly, leaving the bench somewhat wobbly. However, I just made sure to place the side with the loose screw towards the wall. The bench does a decent job holding shoes and it’s fine to sit on as well (no one in my household is over 80kg). I’m sure there must be better alternatives out there, but I can live with this bench.
Can you sit on it?
Yes. (at least I can at average weight) it can creak a bit due to it being bamboo but it’s not broken after a few months of use.

Prompt and efficient, typically German.
How hard is it to put together?
Pretty easy, at least how I remember it.
How many shoes will fit on it?
My numbers here are based on men’s size 9/10 shoes (so obviously it might be different for you).
I fit three pairs of shoes on each rack, for a total of six pairs of shoes. Fitting all six is a bit of a squeeze, and if you have bulky shoes may be a little tough. I haven’t tested putting boots on yet but I think they might be a little tall so beware.
Overall this is a great item and at the time of buying was a fantastic price. I would recommend this if you’re after somrthing to make your storage and life easier (if you don’t have stairs to sit on while putting on your shoes).
An extremely nice piece of furniture which looks great in my kitchen. Excellent quality, the bamboo wood is lovely. I purchased the 90cm rack which holds 4 pairs of my own shoes (size 5 women’s) and 3 pairs of my husbands shoes (size 8) but will take a fourth pair if you put them on the end of the bottom shelf pointing inwards – slight overhang. My husband has the bottom shelf and I have the middle shelf. I use the solid top shelf for other things – like shopping bag etc. But will take another 4 pairs of shoes if you use the top also.
I feel this rack takes up less room in my kitchen than the various pairs of shoes which were strewn over the same kitchen floor area – in all directions – and on top of each other .
I wished I had purchased one years ago!!!
Lovely all in all. When assembled (which is nice and easy) it doesn’t sit square on all four legs; its like a rocky table at a restaurant. However as soon as you put some shoes on it, it sits absolutely fine and looks great!
Looks good but there isn’t support under the seat. It’s fine to sit on as you’ll spread your weight, just dont expect it to take your weight if you use it to stand on in order to change a light bulb, as I did. Needless to say, it cracked.
I can otherwise easily use it to store 6 pairs of size 9’s… 3 on the top, and 3 below.
This little Shoe Rack Bench was easy to put together and looks just right in the little recess in the hall. I must confess that I had overlooked just how yellow bamboo was (would have preferred a lighter shade of whatever) but it does the job and looks nice. I have since complemented it with matching coat hooks now above the bench in the same recess.
I was fed up of walking on my shoes in the hallway every time. It used to look like a mess in my hallway piles of shoes on top of each other. So I decided to do something about it, I think this a best buy because it blends in with my wooden floor & it’s not so embarrassing too when guests come through the hallway anymore. Really easy to assemble too.
Only negative is too expensive & only fit max 8 pairs of shoes that is with squeezing them on.
That said, it is up to the job. It’s easily assembled, and once built, it’s pretty sturdy, and looks nice.
I’m happy with my purchase and would certainly recommend it.
This looks great and does the job. Am reasonably impressed with the quality but I would never myself use it to sit on! Was a bit of a pain putting together on my own though – think it would have been a lot easier with a second pair of hands.
Been looking for the ‘right’ shoe rack for a while. Didn’t think to look on Amazon. This is just what I was looking for. Looks great in my hallway next to my oak sideboard. Just about holds 6 pairs of trainers, more if you use the top as well (husband is a size 10). Found I had to have 1 pair on each shelf stick out a bit at an angle. Very good quality, very easy to put together & comes with all the fixings. Looks sturdy enough to sit on but not using it for this so didn’t try. Delivery couldn’t be quicker! Chose the free delivery option and got it the next day! Happy customer.
